Well, I definitely have a maulerfiend base (whatever size it is), think I have a couple of spare 60mm.

Not tried Killtopia, but did enjoy Lazarus, although it's another one that dropped off my list - will pick it up again at some point Wasteland was one of my favourite post-apocs, think I'm about 6 volumes in, but again haven't picked any up for a while now.

That would be boss mate 2 60mm would be amazing.

To get back into Lazarus, I heartily recommend X+66. I lost track of it also, but this year's standalone world-building series is in my top 5 for 2018.
Killtopia from Card Shark Comics/Black Heart Press is one of the best indie comics I've read. The art is stunning too. I helped out in an unofficial editorial capacity, helping the writer with some thoughts, and have had a bit more involvement in Vol.2. It's bloody (very bloody) brilliant.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here's my resurrected thoughts, as best I can manage, on Here's Negan:

Some immediately obvious components (fire, barricades, zombie "blips"), some obvious from AOW (bite/health). I hate obscure, confusing tokens by the bucket-load (I'm looking at you, Fantasy Flight) and here you have a good balance of functionality and quantity (plus little baggies to keep them in - check!)

Cardstock is nice and heavy, feeling like it's of a higher GSM than, say AOW. It continues the prestige feel of this game; you've no fear of a tile tearing as you punch it. The boards themselves form the double sided modular factory complex that is Sanctuary, and could easily double up for any similar sized game (Kill Team or Deadzone, for example).

As for the models, well, you get same walkers as the core AOW box. Not that surprising I guess, but would've liked new sculpts personally, or even from the booster sets (if wishes were walkers, eh?). However, the green hard plastic used is much better and the casts are crisp as all heck. Previous coloured plastic offerings have felt a little cheap, to be honest, and whilst these may look like regular board game components they are of top miniature level quality.

Saviors (apologies for the Americanism, but there we are, happy Thanksgiving) are really nice, great sculpts. I like that the Negan sculpt is the new, non-Kickstarter/Mantic point version, though no doubt folk will moan about that the way I moan about the Walkers. Also, pre-order customers get AOW cards for these guys which is great (they're getting boosters in wave 6, and the cards will be available with Mantic Points also, but still). But I'd just buy it for the oversized Lucille, personally (going to be blu-tacking that to the top of the spinner...)

The card layout is familiar enough to anyone who's played AOW, and again obvious enough if you haven't. Different dice types have various misses, hits and headshots clearly marked, making it quickly apparent the relative strengths of the characters. Equipment is clearly explained and marked, with some characters having space for extra stuff from the outset.

The various decks that come with the game govern the AI of the walkers and Negan himself. One of my favourite things about the game is the reference cards that the AI decks come with. No flipping back and forth through a rulebook required: it's all there for you. The reference guide on the back of the rulebook is itself very clear, whilst the rules themselves are presented clearly in a logical order. If, like me, you have countless boardgame rulesets bouncing about the brain, having rules readily accessible is a must.

The game presents 12 scenarios that can be played separately or as a campaign. One of the most satisfying, and integral, elements of the game is that it's much, much more than just a quest for stuff: it's about earning Negan's respect and gaining Reputation accordingly. Securing locations is vital, scouring for supplies essential, and shouting for his help may get you a hand but takes you down a peg. It's these various push-pull elements that elevate the game as a whole to something rather special. It also means that co-op play is a curious balance, because you can't let the rest of the team (or indeed, Negan) die, but you want to come out on top. A word of warning: Solo Play is a pretty tough gig (not FFG Lord of the Rings card game tough, but up there) - it's nonetheless extremely satisfying, and almost embarrassingly gratifying to get all the glory for yourself.

The reason this game succeeds is it has many elements of great board games, zombie or otherwise, but wrapped up in a coherent, distinctive package. It's really good fun, is the bottom line, tense and exciting and just a little bit bloody. Totally accessible to the family as a whole, my 8 year old clocked the mechanics immediately, and whether a board game veteran, a novice with a love of The Walking Dead, or just you've lost the will to say no after too much turkey, this is a fantastic offering from the team at Mantic, who continue to raise the bar for the hobby as a whole. A 5-star treat. Let the slaughter begin!

Got a couple of resin masters from Kitbash games, from their new Supers range.

Scarab is a take on golden age blue beetle. Love that it's not cheesecake yet reasonably in proportion. Punchline is a killer clown, as you can see. Great fun, lovely casts and initial look at the rules seems interesting.

The boy has started in his Raven Guard and journey into hobbying with some gs work:

He's done a good job. It's SO HARD not to interfere and smooth out the bumps, few as they are. I did carve the wee gap for the pack honours, mostly because my wife would never forgive me if I let him do it (also, at his age, I nearly severed a tendon in my thumb doing pretty much that). Next will be the Librarian. Annoyingly, the Conquest issue with the Aggressors failed to materialise locally Big difference between £8 and £20.

And my lovely, lovely wife has ordered me a box of toys (not that sort ) for Xmas. So more daemons and some Armigers incoming, looking ahead to 2019. Of course, now, a day after she orders, the Foo Fighters announce they're playing the park LITERALLY DOWN THE ROAD (I'm talking 20 minute walk) next summer

Don't be daft, no rush. He's getting there, and it's quite nice to just sit and work on something for a little bit at a time. Next job will be to get them to sort all of the SM bits we own into bags of type (left arm, right arm, torso, etc.) Child slavery: gets stuff done.

On we go,
The boy is building his Raven Guard Librarian next:

Love that he went with a Corvus helm, and we found the proper retro (horizontal vent) one to really make him stand out. BTW, that Primaris Librarian is not a nice kit to assemble. Not an easy fit at all, time for his old dad to break out the gs and him to get on it. He's thinking of adding some extra reliquary details too. I approve.

As for me, meanwhile, I have now built my human (male) dreadball team. I'm still thinking an Iron Man scheme Whilst tidying, and looking for bases (I am somehow missing two dozen) I also found my human female team finally. They need to be built as the boy has specifically said he wants to play them, so who am I to argue eh? I also have The Unincorporated (Rebel Aliens) and Brokkr (teenage squat team) still to do.

The grab bag DB lot on ebay, as well as including the Captain I need for a gift, came with a full size Renton Rejects team (hodge-podge alien team - absolutely monstrous in game, very difficult to play but very good, no team captain), a KS exclusive coach (woo!), a couple of extra coaches and MVPs I already own (into the xmas gifts they go) and the Glambek Ghosts team, phasing aliens that come cast in transparent blue plastic. No need to paint! (Well, except the captain, who's in regular plastic... bugger). Bargain. Seriously, btw, if you want a cheap, fun game with complex tactics, get yourself some Dreadball (the black Friday deals in Mantic are proper crazy).

No Saturday fun for me, teacher training day. Ah well. Good to catch up with a whole bunch of folk, sit and moan about kids, management and other teachers But hoping to get a game of either Kill Team or Dreadball Sunday with the boys. The wife's idea. Oh, and we got foo fighters tickets too. She's a keeper

Cheers for your review of "Here's Negan". I have really enjoyed the Mantic TWD range but was on the fence about this one but you have persuaded me that it is a worthwhile purchase. I just wish the Negan was a different base sculpt than the Kickstarter one, but ho hum you cannot have everything.

And top parenting on letting your lad make his own hobby choices and mistakes, it will benefit him in the long run. Conquest is a brilliant thing for the younger hobbyists out there.

There's a weird optical illusion going on with the two Kalyshi (girl 2&4, l-r) - their skin tone is identical, violet in fact, but against the blue/red it looks completely different. That'll be fun to fix

So, the boy would like you to see his 2 characters:

Decent job on the builds there. He's now trying to decide whether to build a squad of Tac marines or Sternguard next, based on the bits we have. I think Vet Tac marines, personally, although we've not got many Corvus helms left, and then we can work on acquiring bits for Vanguard Vets and dark fury them up somehow. Given his love of hover vehicles, might need to get him a LS Storm for xmas or something.

And, the Cheer squad are done:

I do not like the butt skirts, so the Visitor (red) cheers never got them, but they're firmly welded to the Home (blue) side, so there we are. 362, I'm not counting the touch-ups (fnar) to the blue 2. Still, a couple more off the list, and, crucially, adds to the overall playability of my Dreadball collection. Need to get some coaching staff done next, definitely the DB priority. But I'm open to suggestions generally: DB, Bat/DC or ?
Till then

Because I don't have enough to paint, I decided I needed to build Necrosius, the csm sorcerer.

Started with an easy build body, which is the mirror image of the fw version's stance. Decided to keep the mirroring throughout. Should've given him a goatee chopped the bone spur from the head, GSd the stomach maw into the symbol, added arm, shoulders and some cloth strips from a plaguecaster, a GK (!) halberd hand (there's a blast from the past), random pistol pouch (actually should strictly be on the other side if I'm mirroring), SM hand (going to add some balefire with GS), classic csm backpack with a bit from... something, AOS maybe, with a pin to mount a ragged banner. A surprisingly quick and easy kitbash.
So, fun.

where's a beardy orkmoticon when you need one he'll be fine when there's some paint slapped on him. Or rather, some more paint. I may well manually prime the bare sections and work from there.

Myself and the boy were ill today - blessings upon our house- so we got our geek on. Watched Empire; played a game of Here's Negan - devious little bastard tricked the big man into following him and then making him enraged with my guy for hanging back (at the freaking scenario exit!) so he beat me. But it's ok, I punished him correctly (no, not with Lucille) by making him do the dawnstone and flayed one layers on all his marines and build his conquest Aggressors (not as awkward as the Primaris librarian, but close). Then rewarded his patience with a game of Kill Team.

Supply Lines, raven guard attackers, death guard defenders. It was at this point that I realised that I own no 40k objectives

stop being a trouble maker
Anyway, Christmas begins in earnest round here in December with kids' choir concerts, fayre (scored Vertigo, North by Northwest, His Girl Friday and Sunshine for a quid the 4, result!) and a day out today at Kelburn castle. But I managed in the meantime to get started on this month's Dreadball challenge, which Motivation month: finish what you've started. I've got 2 teams primed, a bunch of MVPs and some coaching staff started. So, I'll try to get the coaches done (we've got a fortnight), but in the meantime, started my version of the Corporation (human male) team.
