That gaming table is great, those hexes are amazing. Love your LoER entry, especially being able to blow those rails to pieces And already excited to see you tackle the minis in Cursed City when time allows!

Voting is open on the LoER Dangerous Terrain theme: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/798810.page

My entry is a bunch of train track to go across my modular table, plus a nice crater to replace a piece of track if it ever gets blown up for some reason. The track is from a toy train that I picked up ages ago, with some blank printed hex tiles and putty. The crater is from the Hexhogs kickstarter resized/adjusted to fit into my hex setup with some bits of broken track and rubble added on to make it fit into the train theme

Not really had any time or brain power to do any painting or printing recently, so there's nothing new to show off sadly.

After a bit of a painting drought, I managed to knock out two ghoul Arch Regents. One is the standard kit, which is really nice. The other is the king of Goblin town with the bottom of his sceptre replaced with a large bone, and some tiny wings left over from the Crypt Horror kit. I saw someone else do this and loved it as a slow, powerful magic wielding AR, rather than a fast moving combat monster.

Painting style was a new experiment blending wet contrast paints and layering colours for a watercolour painting style. Not sure if I like it or not, but it kinda fits the odd dreamlike quality of the ghouls shifting perceptions

Thanks guys!

Some meetings started to get rather tedious today with lots of listening and not a lot of doing... so I started playing with some more contrast paints and ended up with a few more bits and pieces completed

The Grymwatch have been partially completed for months, but finally got the last few bits tidied up

The Vyrkos Blood-Born were just undercoated, but came together very quickly

I have just noticed that I forgot to paint the chain on the third one... so that needs to be fixed tomorrow!

There are also two quick objectives from Cursed City

The objectives are certainly fun little models to play around with. There's a few more, different objectives in the queue before Cursed City is finished.

A few other bits and pieces are nearing completion on the painting queue, but I forgot to take photos before hand and none can currently stand up on their own... so no photos of those yet. As a self imposed challenge, I'm going to enter this month's painting challenge, which is Boots on the Ground, which is just a 5 man unit for something. As a quick one I'm going to try the skeletons from Cursed City as you can't get much better than boots from under the ground

Lets see how many of these I can get done in the next couple of days as well as finishing off the other bits and pieces kicking around.

They are really nice looking models, but can they be boots on the ground if the boot leather has decayed and turned to dust?

So I'm absolutely loving these Cursed City skeletons, they just seem to paint themselves! In the space of about 2 hours spread across the day all 11 of them seem to have become finished

Last night I printed a bunch of wooden shields for some older style skeletons that had been finished, with the exception of these bits. So that was another quick addition to the skeleton hordes today

I really like the bold red of the skeletons' tabards juxtaposed against the grimy metal of their armor.

Thanks! The red is possibly a bit too clean, but I was worried about messing up the paintjob... so yeah... there's that.

This weekend I worked on the Crimson Court set for Underworlds. I didn't fancy red armour for them so went black and nmm silver and gold instead

The one downside of this colour scheme is that I now need to think of a different colour for the chaos warrior warband

Automatically Appended Next Post:
While I'm working through the painting queue, I'm plotting what to do for some of the larger kits. I managed to pick up some of the older start collecting boxes before they were removed as it seemed the cheapest way to get a Coven Throne. Having now had time to ponder the new book, ghostly horses just feels really off as ghosts have been stripped from the book.

The two ideas for making it more appropriate are either to try and replace the horses with cloud of bats, which requires a lot of 3d printed bats... or to just ignore the main kit completely and have the three vampires on giant wolves (assuming they fit of course!). I'm currently feeling like the wolves would be the most thematic option, but leaves me with pretty much all of the kit unused... which seems a waste

I need to do things with my hands to retain focus in meetings, so contrast paints seem to be a *reeeeeaaaally* easy way of doing this if the camera is off.

This morning I got a *really* nice surprise from the ever so kind Mr Graven! I knew a little parcel was on the way, but had no idea what was in it, other than it was car related

Still curious what is in here...

It seems I now have a small Gaslands project to work on as well. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOoooooo much!
Have you been stalking me on Steam and seeing me play Dark Future recently?!

We came close to this at uni too. We set up a society and convinced the uni to give us the money to buy a scalextric set and the wood to permanently fix it onto a base board to go in the uni bar. Various people then started buying and modding cars to ram each other off the road, Carmageddon styley

Love that it came in a Beaddazzling box . Wish you guys were closer, or at least on the same continent, I'd love to get a game or 20 of Gaslands in. I don't understand how my local shop turns up their noses at any games by Osprey or Warlord .

I really like them and their mucky bases, looks like they were interrupted while digging up a late night snack.

Also as a Vampiric aside, have you watched "What we do in the Shadows"? The TV show, as I just realized it's based off a movie . Either way it's good for some laughs

Yep, both the series and the movie are excellent. The series links back to the movie in the global council episode. There is also a spin off series called Wellington Paranormal that follows the police officers that turn up in the movie that is entertaining, though not quite as funny. There is supposed to be a werewolves spin off as well at some point

Local radio station was talking about it a couple weeks back where the guys were looking for something new to watch. I think I’m still in the first season, I can’t watch it when my wife is home as we are watching Manifest, but she was out of town this weekend so I caught some of it .

Yes, I highly recommend What We do in the Dark. Taika Waititi before he was cool!

Well it looks like I screwed up wolf sizes a little bit with the wolf cavalry

I bought Belladamma yesterday as I thought something similar, with three wolf riding vampires would be a cool alternative to the Coven Throne and wanted to see how large Belladamma's wold mount was. Turns out not all that big...

On the left you can see the standard 3d printed wolf; they are only a tiny bit larger than the smaller wolf on Belladamma's base, so that one is fine. In the middle you can see Belladamme's wolf mount. On the right you can see the beasts that I'd put together for the Blood Knight alternatives. ooops! I think I need to scale that one back a fair bit. Thankfully I'd only printed one and it had failed in places anyway.
