it could be a character, they give some of them scenic bases

Do we have literally any mention of Harkon in AoS?

I’m definitely thinking it’s a Zombie. There’s a pock mark just visible on the top part of the visible arm. And the highlighting strokes look odd, unless they’re for unhealthy skin.

Gods know the Zombie kit is in dire need of a redo - it may actually be the oldest kit still available for Fantasy.

It really seems like Undead are getting some really large update. If only GW would reveal any of it.

You tell me. You'd know more about AoS then I.

I'm just shouting out what I'd like to see. Or are we not allowed to do that any more,

I thought there might be some mention of him that I've missed.

You're more than welcome to want to see him...but that feels like it would be more of an 'Old World' thing, and we're still something like 3-4 years out on that!

I dunno. Normally, I'd agree. But we just had Eltharion come back as a spooky ghost armor. Gotrek came back fairly recently. And of any army, death seems to have the most returning models, since we have a lot of vampire and skeleton characters. Even Krell had a cameo in a book. (Makes you wonder why we don't see many chaos characters returning, since the survivors got elevated to godhood as the old world went ka-blamo)

Honestly, he was a throw-away character for a White Dwarf army list, i think they'd rather devise a new character to fill the role.

Ghaz was a throwaway character, as was Mad Dok Grotsnik, back in the dim and distant days of ‘Ere We Go. And it was a battle report that gave us Captain Tycho originally.

Eh. A total warhammer 2 tie in makes a lot of sense to me.
Plus, while I think it's kind of sad (and helps make AoS still feel smaller and unfinished), the 'AOS' special characters that stick in the mind are Old Warhammer transfers.

---
I'm definitely feeling the undead pirate vibe. This hand is a bit more defined than the sword hand, but still has the slightly blobby look and striations/obvious highlights that were on the previous one,

But I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't a Ghoul subfaction rather than vampire.

Yes, back in RT and 2nd ed. This was a random barely-character from 2000s. He got even less impact on Warhammer than Chorfs, and their last real book was 5th edition in mid-90s. Bringing back Gotrek makes sense, he's an incredibly popular character and having him isekai'd into the Mortal Realms makes for a fun story. Since we know nothing or next to nothing about vampirate boy, bringing him "back" has low emotional impact on the audience and therefore is pointless.

Gotrek's stories were also rather neatly designed so that with two characters (Gotrek and Felix) you toured most of the Old World and saw a good chunk of it, all within one series.

On the one hand its adventure stories, on the other its a rough guide to a lot of the world and races.

I fully expect the AoS version to do likewise. Already he's met the Flesheaters/

Ghoul? Werewolf?

I would either say FEC or Kurnothi (or however they're called).

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

It’s the dew claw that’s making me think it could be a Werewolf?

Not sure though.

Maybe new Varghulf.

Some of the past rumor engines are heavily implying that FEC might be getting something, and even Soulblight.

My lukewarm take is that FEC and Soulblight are going to be combined in the future.

I'd love for it to be a werewolf.

There really was a whole load of vaguely undead stuff recently huh? If only GW could reveal SOMETHING instead of drip-feeding us vague images.

Looks to thin and spindly to be a werewolf, so an animal or some sort of fae thing seem more likely

Skin Wolves were pretty gangly, and the previewed Blood Bowl werewolf sculpt isn't particularly beefy. It's the lack of fur that makes me doubt it's a werewolf, though.

Feels like FEC, though I don't think it's a ghoul either.

Very interesting. Hopefully these last few rumours are actually linked and we get the reveal soon.

Kurnothi would be super exciting to me. Especially if this is a kind of 'werewolf' Aelf...it would be a return to form(no pun intended!) of the Alter Kindreds from the Wood Elves.

Some sort of something for Death hopefully. I don’t see werewolf, but could be sort of bat creature or something (like a mini varghulf or something).

It feels like the first preview with that undead feel was like an eternity ago. Does anyone know how many months it usually takes for gw to reveal the actual models after the previews?

It varies.

Quickest has been mere hours (the massive Knight, and Ripper Jackson)

Others have been nearly a year. And every length of time in between.
