I don't think they're too bad, though I would have liked to see the guardian with some movement while still having the cracked stone look.

The Forsaken model had better do the drawing justice. Same with the circle solo.

Well, the guardian standing still fits better with the fluff. They don't move much. But you're right, these aren't the most impressive of the HORDES line.

I will stand by what I have always said. PP is a great gaming company, but their entire miniature line is average at best, lacks detail, completely lacks any form of animation in 90% of their models and many are a pain in the rear end to put together without substantial pinning (esp those skinny legged Jacks).

Their books on the other hand are beautifully put together - and from the other thread their openess and honesty is rather refreshing.

Being more of a painter than a gamer I have a largish Cryx army still 50% unbuilt because it is so uninspiring barring three or four models - the other lines are just blah. These latest sculpts do nothing to dispel that feeling.

But, each to their own or whatever floats your boat.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

im am too dissapointed in these....the hordes line seems to have even more intricate models so they two just seem to be the scouts of 40k.
'Accidental' missculpts that is

I disagree on the 90% comment. I'd put the estimate around 50%. PP hires some great sculptors- Kev White being the most prominant in my mind. When you keep all the models in context with the game's established art and imagry I think you'd agree that many of the models are quite nice while others just plain suck. Although I can honestly say I dislike almost the entire Menoth line I can also say I think almost the entire Merc and Trollkin lines are great, so I think it's not quite 90% that suck. Of course I don't expect you to have an opinion that's identical to mine, I did want to defend PP's sculptors (at least some of them). In the end though they have a quality control that's as bad as GW. The big mini company who really has a commitment to art has got to be Rackham.
