Wildwood looks pretty awesome! I hope that one does well!
The Magic Far Away Tree feels like a really neat idea but the trailer make it feel excessively blunt/heavy handed in that "adult talking to child in childs language" type manner.
They've had success, but not in recent years. Kubo(2016) sadly fell short of covering it's costs, while Missing Link(2019) had their largest budget and yet their greatest loss by far. This should be a return to form for Laika, with a bit of luck.
Obsession just came out, and I highly recommend seeing it in a theater for all the scares, humor-horror whiplash scenes and the “oh feth!” moments that land hard with a crowd. If for nothing else, see it for Inde Navarette, who is amazing. She can make a facial expression into a jumpscare.
On the upcoming fantasy side, we’ll be watching Wildwood for sure.

Hard to say if it will be good, but at least it looks like it’s trying.
Well, except for that last line. “Then go and get it . [John Stewart]”. Something about the way it’s cut together is giving strong vibes of “I love you, [PHILIP J FRY].”
