Looks like they're conversion kits like the Cadian ones. If that's the case, you get enough for two squads per bag if you allocate parts right. They fail to mention that on the site though

Yeah, but renegade Guard are easily able to be made using the doctrine system. You just won't get Chaos Marines.

Well I think its a great Idea to have some kinda of "up grade kit" for traitors....

For the Lost and the Damned armies, Games Workshop has stated that the list from the Eye of Terror book is no longer tournament legal.

They hate our freedoms. Blighters.

Well, more precisely, what GW has said is that Eye of Terror Codex armies (including LatD) are not UK GT legal. AFAIK, the LatD are still legal in other GTs.

The day they make that book not "legal" is the day that I'm done with GW. :mad:

well, i guess we'll be seeing you later then, because it won't be legal for the rest of the GT's soon enough. Storm of Chaos and the Lustrian campaign books have already been pulled on the Fantasy GT list as well

The LaTD list is pretty powerful, and not nearly as balanced as the more main stream lists. But they have a lot of character and I love seeing them on the board.

40K is a double edged sword, one of the things most of us love about the game is the wide variety and massive background that it has. It really feels like a huge, ugly universe full of all kinds of weird and malevelant forces arrayed against one another. However, when someone in game dev comes up with a brilliant idea for an army, like the LatD, I feel that they should deffinately go forward with it, but hold the list to the same standard of playtesting and balancing as any mainstream list, otherwise you end up with lopsided armies and broken lists that make the game less fun. (ie.: the all seer council army, yes it is an uber powerful list, but that army is simply not fun to play against) A list should never be slapped together and tossed into the gaming world with little forethought and/or palnning simply because it was in a source book and not an actual codex, because, garaunteed, there are competetive players out there who will see a lit that has so many exploitable loopholes and take advantage of them.

So i say, keep coming out with the alternate army lists, new lists, etc, they are what keep the game fresh and interesting for the vets, just make sure they are done right the first time so that we can avoid all of this back and forth wasted effort, especially considering that there are people out there who invest a lot of time and energy into making these armies only to see them become "illegal" down the road.

In the end things just need to be held to a higher standard of quality prior to release, and a great deal of frustration could be avoided.

But on topic, those new gaurd look super cool and if forgeworld goes all out on this, the rebel/chaos gaurd will be flippin awesome. i can forsee some pretty cool upgrade kits for the imperial tanks gone bad, and evil rough riders, chaos commanders, etc. it will be pretty dang rad.

the thing that annoys me is that these models are £9 for the pack yet the "normal" cadian respirator and alternative heads are £16???? is there any reason why? it actually looks like you get more components in the new LATD pack the in the normal cadian packs!!!
reckon theres a chance FW will lower the cadian packs or is a raise on the price of the LATD packs more likely?
mind you think i might get a pack of LATD just for my =I= warriors! lol

Same here. Now whether or not it is legal in a UK or other GT does not concern me.

I definitely have to get some of those models. I hope the LA Battlebunker gets some in soon.

BTW, Reesius. I looked for you this last Saturday at the Cities of Death RTT. I thought you were a regular there.

You know I spend months on modeling my traitors then forgeworld comes out with a kit, well if anyone wants to see my traitor just look for a few of my posts there being painted right now.

Yeah... i just got my FW thing too and i'm definatelly ordering those (futher more,im lucky to have bought for no reason a box of cadians )

Well, it is kinda funny that you asked that.  Just last week I pulled all of my "other" armies and getting ready to get rid of them.  The armies that I'm keeping are my Dark Eldar, my small Chaos force and my LatD (of course).

BUT...

If GW makes LatD (an army I have put alot of time and money into) not legal, then I will be pretty much done with GW.  I have already used alot of my other GW stuff to get me more Rackham/Confrontation stuff, while my 40K stuff is collecting dust.

I'm kinda wondering if the FAQs release (that is "supposed" to happen today) is going to seal my fate when it comes to GW.

The rackham mini are so much better, Dont know if the game is any good not tried it. what do you reckon? Sorry to side track.

I think the new models are sweet and a perfect excuse to start a "Chaos" Gaurd or LATD army. But being "legal" or "illegal" do people where you play refuse to fight against LATD armies at friendly games? or is it just the one or two tournaments a year that wreck the fun for the rest of the year.

But you could always make a Imperial Guard army with appropriate doctrines and it would be fully "legal" and you wouldn't have to worry about GW kicking down your door and hauling you off to a re-education camp.

I missed it, the girl pulled rank, and i will be missing the GE RTT due to a wedding as well, alls the pity. but i usually am at the bunker every weekend either sat or sunday.
