I've really enjoyed painting GL.

Great sculpt, and my new detail brushes are helping. However, my hand is bothering me again. Not awful, but definitely stiff and sore. Need to be careful.

Genuinely got the groove back for a bit of DC though. Funny how I've got out of the Gaslands habit. Might change when Refuelled comes late September. But that's ok.

Thanks! Both he and the flames are painted the same, but the flames are yellow washed whilst he's green with violet shade.

Hey gang,
A busy family weekend and a fair amount of hand pain have meant no p&m. So instead, a bit of a stock take!

Taking stock is always a slightly distressing business. Still, just looking at what is built and primed, and as I'm feeling very DC at the moment, I'm going to try to get cracking on them:

Hippolyta, Artemis, Menalippe and Antiope - the last of whom has a broken bow, so will need that rebuilt, but given that the other 2 generic Amazons are converted up anyway into Artemis and Menalippe, not that big a deal to further convert.

Dark Knights Metal: Red Death, Merciless, Drowned and Batman Who Laughs. I may also paint Nightmare Batman (from BvS) to go with them as Grim Knight (Dark Bat with Guns). I realise now that I was going to paint that Hal as Dawnbreaker (evil lantern bat) never mind eh?

Justice League Dark: Deadman, Black Orchid, Swamp Thing (Rebirth). Given that I've started the JLD already (Constantine, Jason Blood, Etrigan) might be an idea to finish them!

Joker's Daughter / Harley, Bud and Lou (Rebirth): Not a big fan of Duella but she is another one for Suicide Squad. I'm enjoying the Harley comic way more than I expected. So maybe. The hyenas are remarkably good in DCU as a tar pit unit.

Movie Mera and Ezra Flash: I have plans for these. On the other hand, those plans have not yet actually coming to anything... Ever.

Blue Beetle & Booster Gold: Scarab showed what I can do, and I've enjoyed retro supers, though they're all primed black. To redo or not?

BvS Nightmare Batman, Zurr-en'Arrh - more Batmans!

Poison Ivy Rebirth - big, green and beautiful. Maybe.

What do you think my dakklings? What should I tackle?

Meanwhile, picked up a HW Tumbler:

So thinking about these guys a bit too. The next challenge is new sponsor so really I should make a frankencar or something. I'm considering making a Burtonesque gigahorse of some kind. However, one of the new sponsors, Bootleggers, is all about hicks distilling their own booze/biofuel/explosives. And this car rocks the hobo mojo:

Needs chunky new wheels and mesh. Might need a trailer. They get trailers. For the booze. The big fuel tank in the front could also be booze, and the empty rack in the back needs booze too, dagnabit. For the trailer, I'm thinking a little switching block(like the kind inside light fixtures) with wheels on it.
Oh my mate's KS was 450% funded, every single SG unlocked. Awesome stuff.
Anyway, zooming on, and don't forget to let me know your thoughts on what DC I should do,

Yeah. Pesky kids
Cheers for the kind words chaps

So started my contest entry. My Bootleggers have got a... Fuel tank.

Yeah. Fuel It's got a bit of a dragster vibe - I imagine I'll run it as performance car with a sourmash jet booster - but I reckon a flamethrower is required, and maybe dropped napalm. Roof mounted flamethrowers mess with my head, though I like the look. I'd stick a fuel tank in the back. Mind you, that's going to happen regardless.

But not sure about the front mount, even though it makes more "sense".
Thoughts?

Moonshiners=Molotovs Just saying. Either swigging it, slinging it or selling it, moonshine comes in either glass mason jars or clay pots. Both are effective at breaking open when you need them to.

Wonderful to see your progress continue graven. Blue Scarab is... really lop-sided. Is she drawn that way?? In any case that's no fault of yours, she looks fantastic.

That looks like a really fun game, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Lovely to hear from you again! Maybe it's just the angle of the pic?

Continuing with my Trailer trash:

So obviously both trailers need wheels. I'm not sure what the buggy's trailer is from but looks like GW metal. I've added a bit off a corvus flyer, some metal sock clips, a new brass etch steering wheel, a broken set of piston tops for molotovs, and a Mad Cars driver (yeehaw). I think the other car is going to get a set of big shocks (should've done that before doing the new wheels, never mind) BUT they're nearly built! Good times

I think it needs wheels n top of the trailer because you’ll be going so fast it might flip over, but who needs reality in their games

Both trailers are now functionally articulated, greebling added all over, so off they both go to priming:

I am inordinately chuffed that I managed to make functioning clips.

Started Mera:

VJ falcon turquoise to begin. Next will be green wash for her, blue for the water.

And started slithering.

Or rather slytherins.

Work is, if not good, then at least not bad. What more could one all for, really?

Had a great night out with friends and their kids, and as we were walking home I noticed a copy of Dreadball Ltd edition in the window of a charity shop for £15. So of course, had to go back the next day helped them price up some other games too, for eBay.

So it was missing the promo fig, but as I have him anyway, hardly a big deal.
Acceptably painted Marauders (orc and gob team) - not massively useful, as I have a full team of them. But give them a wash and tidy up and they'll be a decent present for a mate to get them playing.
Poorly painted humans and referee - I don't own the classic refbot, so nice to own, and likewise my human team is bare minimum, so good to have the same again to give me a full team. But, paint is horrible. So... strip? Will Dettol dissolve the pvc
Cards, rules, dice and acrylic tokens - more dice always good, and the acrylic tokens are really nice, much more so than the hard plastic ones from 2nd ed even. Granted the rules and cards are of no real use but still. There's a couple of useful bits: environmental conditions rules card for open-air games is really cool, and "fan area" cards handy for cheerleaders etc.

But the real treat is the Azure board:

"Dad, can we play an exhibition match?"
Yup, kids so excited they immediately wanted to have a game with their league teams.

So. Not a bad haul. It's a nice board to play on, and a nice thing to have. Given that you can't get the azure board for less than £20 second hand, to have it near mint makes me very happy indeed.

On we go

The bit is an old landspeeder extra part that could fit inside the side flaps. Just stowage, but it was extra detail that came with I think the dark angels landspeeder.

Excellent bitslore! Level up!
Nah, I'm fine, Ravenclaw all the way. But the Slytherins are fantastic for co-op play with the potter crew. And I really like the Malfoy family sculpts (Narcissa is one of my random favourite characters from the books). Painted in odd bits here and there, boots, shoes... mostly it's an excuse to play with model air black. For those of you contrast addicts, it behaves much the same. So progress has been made on the Slytherins, Snape, Malfoy family, Weasley Twins and Ron. Lots of bits and bobs too, bit of work on Harry, Hagrid, Fang, Ginny... sighhhhhhhhh...

I wondered if we'd lost you to the Fallout or something again?

Anyway, here's the awful paintjob on the human team:

I have a jar with Dettol and a metal Catman that I'd forgotten about for 2 months. Let's see what happens to a Striker.

The orcs were... acceptable. Not caked in paint, just basic colours blocked in. So clearly, having nothing better to do, I've decided to repaint the whole team. Think they'll actually turn out ok. As I have a large and fairly comprehensive Marauder team, if they work I'll be gifting these to erithromycin as part of his birthday present. I'm converted one into Slippery Joe, the Captain, and I'll print him out the captain specific cards too.

And for myself, well, I repainted the first edition refbot, as I now finally have one!

In retrospect, should've stripped it too. But it's fine at tabletop level. Curse you dakka super zoom!

Eyes in the back of her head!
Love this fig, much better than the 2nd ed one. I wish I'd picked up a dozen when they were on 99p clearance on the mantic site to make the Malfunctioning Refbot team So a grand total of... 1 finished model so far this month!

My elder boy has, meantime, finished his Kalyshi Team, the Power-Tough Girls:

Not shabby. Bless him, he's not satisfied. I particularly love his converted jumping striker.

Loads of stuff in various stages on the desk. The Constructicon Brokkr team theme is settled on, but it's suprisingly faffy to do (getting the right purple is irksome). Nevertheless, aiming to get them done for the end of the month. Meera is getting there, and even a little on Artemis. The list is endless . The Bootlegger cars are primed - two weeks to get them painted, I was thinking a general lee homage originally but now I'm thinking of Scotland's finest beverage... Irn-Bru (so blue with some orange).

I need to be careful I don't hit paint-paralysis, that gnawing despair of "too much to do". Still, at the weekend, we were at friends', and he showed my wife his bike room - with 3 bicycles totalling £7000. She's reappraised her feelings about my hobby getting a bit more "me" time to work on stuff and stay sane.
I do have a long weekend at the end of the month, a Friday with my boys (so painting and more Dreadball Ultimate planned), Comic-Con on the Saturday with #2 and a Monday with him too, which we've set aside for testing DCU 2 (in the post from Spain, along with the Chamber of Secrets) so that should be fun.

Still - chin up, eh?

Aye, kid done not bad.

So, a team of Marauders:

Complete with converted Slippery Joe (fabulous 'tache). That's more like it. 10 minis done - 200 this year so far.

BUT that's not all! Admittedly these have been ongoing for a while but not pictured - and it's still early days.

That's a *lot* of black. Different washes will be used to try to add variety. Narcissa's red skirt colour will also be the base for gryffindor cloaks/ties. VJ mahogany is a wonderful thing. Except on Hagrid, to whom it will not adhere, for some reason.
And just off to the side, that's the Constructicon crew. They are ongoing
