There are a few new features in the editor folks have been asking for for a while, two handy ones are preview (4th button over from right in top toolbar) and spell check (13th button over from right in top row).  The other option that is pretty cool is "Maximum Editor size (bottom row, 2nd from left)"  This allows you to turn your browser into a word processor.

I'll be cleaning the toolbar up and removing a lot of the unnecessary features.  I'll also be writing up a short FAQ about how to use the various features.  In addition, the Emorkcons will be returning as well!!

Please let me know if there are any issues, especially browser specific issues.  If you have a problem, please post the browser you're using (IE, Firefox, Opera, etc)

Also, many of the problems with editing a post (such as llinks breaking and pictures failing) have been resolved.

Hi,
Am I missing something or is the new editor only one tiny bar with the Bold, Italic, Numbered list, bulleted list, the insert/edit link and remove link functions? Cuz that's all I see. No emorkicons (or emoticons at all) on the right like they used to be, no way to select the HTML tab and only the options to submit or cancel the message. I
I'm using the latest Mozilla (Firefox) build on a fully patched & upgraded XP Pro machine.
Danke!

The first time I've used reply as opposed to quick reply in how many months?

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

What stuff?

The quote isn't highlighted or anything in Firefox once the final post is submitted. You can't tell quote from follow-up post.

Oh! That stuff!!   Right, I'm still on that thingy.  I'm close to the quotes working as you'd expect.

Thanks, Russ!

At least with Firefox, the quote highlighting is working inside the editor box. It only disappears once the post is submitted.

Got it!  Ok, quotes now work right both in the editor (they show up) and will post properly.  The fix will only effect new posts, old posts with wacky quotes (or not appearing quotes) are beyond help.

I think the only place we have problems is in the "Quick Reply" quote button.  But to be honest, I may disable quick reply, as its more trouble than its worth, and the new editor is SOOOO cool.

NNNEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! please I love quick reply, it's basically the only way I post.

Do not use the CLEAR dice!

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!

Yes! Please be keeping with the quick reply! It's great for shooting of speedy responses. Just disable the quote function in it. I know I never use it, instead hitting the "quote" button in whichever thread response I'm trying to quote. Like so! (though most of this response was first written in the "Quick Reply" box and then cut and pasted into the editor).

Under the couch

Weird... I just made a post in modeling with both a pic and a link. Neither worked to begin with, it just printed the code as text.

Clicked on edit, and then just saved as is, without changing anything (as they appeared fine in the editor) and now they're working...

Ok, ok, I'll keep it.  :S But we may need to loose the quote button.

I didn't think it was possible to find a WYSIWYDG (the D being 'don't') that was harder to use than the one we had before Russ. I must applaud you for finding one that is more complicated! It took me 4 tries to get my post to look like the last one in the thread here:

Amazing. Why can't we all just use VBulliten and life would be easy...
