Ain't nothing wrong with cutting, this is hard plastic not resin or metal. Use Revell contact professional to put him back together and you're good. Then again not unit crosses my desk without at least something getting the chop(occasionally I add putty instead of chopping anything at all, sometimes I do both), so it's not like I'm not going to plug the idea of cutting up things to make slightly different things than everyone else's.

That's a shame, but it's fine. I can just leave my senior officers without gas masks. It's not like someone would dare gas an officer of such high standing in Napoleon Bonaparte's great army.

That would just be rude.

Of the 55 I built up as a Platoon, the only one without a mask is the senior officer purely as a 'mark him out of the crowd' aesthetic choice.

Of course, with all the Command bits coming, he may be consigned to the bits box and a new Colonel built with a Bearskin and mask.

Is that a 'plasma' type pistol along with a chainsword or is the sword leaning more to a 'power' type?

I'm liking the sniper rifle. Having spare troops left over unbuilt from the initial three boxes I bought, I can easily put together some special weapon squads leaving the crew models free for their heavy weapons.

Only one bottle of wine per sprue and no cheese?

No problem, with at least the two boxes that I'll be putting on pre-order, one chappy is going to be recovering from a six bottle bender.

I'm probably going to try and cut up a couple guys to convert a gas mask officer with front to back bicorne, but I'm liking the idea of the senior officers thinking that they are far too important to succumb to something as unsophisticated as gas.

Arrogance is there shield it would seem. Or the emperor, yeah maybe he helped as well.

You should turn the tables on everyone by converting them into fantasy dwarfs.

I’m wondering now if the conquistadors and Aztecs have been pushed back, the last update on them was in March with a statement that work had begun and regular updates would be shared but nothing since. Each new kit that gets announced kind of drives home that point.

If they have decided that other kits are more profitable or they want to get them out sooner, fine but I wish and honest announcement on what the status or plans are on these would be posted. As it stands it seems like the unofficial stance is “yeah we are making these at some point... probably... maybe”

I have some leftover parts from heavy infantry oathmark dwarves i intend to use to diversify the kit a bit.

If we announce something, it will get done. there is no maybe.

Aztecs/conquistadors are being worked on. We have alot of interesting things in the queue and depending on sculpting requirements things have been jostled about.

Having worked on the aztec/conquistador project myself, I can tell you they will be worth the wait.

The F28: War Always Changes Player's Guide has some amazing rules for space dorfs in a 40K style setting. I want an army of them but I feel I would need space dorf land trains to get most use out of them, and I've not quite figured out how to make that happen yet (Ramshackle, probably).

Anyone in the lands down under got both the Einherjar and the spiders?
If so, I would be interesting in seeing how well the Einherjar legs fit in the connection between the front and the back of the spider.
I have been thinking about making some sci-fi spider riders, so if anyone has the parts and the time I would appreaciate

Oh, OK. WWII is pretty much the least interresting new project possible... Extremely saturated market, with even a lot of (good) plastic kits. Would rather see more sets to complement the existing or planned sets, like more colonials.
But I guess it's a universal truth - german WWII figures always sell the best.

Only care if it’s because in the alternate timeline the Venusians(second world/planet from the sun) have a civil war and it leaks over to Earth during our Second World War. Even then WWII is handled by sooooooo many companies.

Maybe get a jump on the competition with a WWIII line of Chinese and Indian mountain troops, or South China Sea naval infantry?

Although I personally doubt any WWII kit is going to be of interest to me (happy to be surprised by something that may at least prove useful for kitbashing though), I'd still be cautiously optimistic about what this might mean. When Wargames Atlantic did a first kit for their ancients line, it was one containing Persians rather than the Imperial Romans or classic Hoplite Greeks already covered by multiple other companies. When they made some Dark Age figures, they were Irish, rather than the Vikings or Normans already covered by multiple other companies. It would be pretty in character to go for a slightly more niche set here too - although again, I expect I won't care (not interested in much post 1600ish), and I'd rather have seen another obscure Ancients or Dark Age set instead!

If they did French resistance or British home guard in plastic I would definitely be interested. Other underrepresented factions like the Italians would also be welcome.

Dang, that is too bad that you guys feel compelled to create WW2 kits. There are so many good plastic kits and metals available.

I hope you guys don't pour many resources into it.

I would like to make a reminder that there is currently a single heroic scale plastic elf kit in production in the world that could pass in a classical fantasy setting and they are obscenely expensive. All the other elf kits out there are either very tiny 25mm (Oathmark, Mantic) or have the design aesthetics of a kazoo (Cow elves) and are clearly unfit for any sort of classical tolkenesque setting.

High Elves were big sellers for GW and Oathmark even appears to be doing fine with their "Saxons, with feathers!" mini elves.

Here is another kit idea: a generic Swords and Planet sprue with muscled specimens of humanity wearing nothing but a war harness and toting ray guns and swords along with a couple bodies wearing outfits like you might see on the military of a certain Barsoom. You could easily cover John Carter and Flash Gordon and the many imitations with a single sprue...

Well you can't expect a company to do exactly what you want from them and when you want them, but they do seem to have been taking notice of what people say, through polls and other things.
It does seem they are attempting to cater to a lot of different backgrounds and times, which can obviously be problematic in the long run, with many lines but few complete ones (I hope this is not the case with Wargames Atlantic though).

It seems like it is working well for them so far, with the sales of some kits apparently going rather well, but the recent persian kit sale does seem to indicate they were occupying the shelves a little too long compared with the rest.

Unless you commission a kit from them, all you can do is wait and see what happens. I too have things I would like to see in plastic one day (including the factions of my sci-fi books), but the funds for such a thing are still far from being available, at least unless I suddenly become a best selling autor

That's hardly a surprise to be honest; Victrix is due to release sets that will simply blow the WA kit out of the water in terms of options (4 different bodies each of unarmoured archers, unarmoured spearmen, armoured archers and armoured spearmen, plus command sprue, plus upcoming cavalry). Two years earlier, and I would have expected the WA set to literally sell several times as many copies; just very unfortunate timing. It also feels like one of the cases where the single set in a range is just too limiting; I don't think many people would be that interested in only Persian infantry, with potentially no cavalry available in the same scale/style (plus chariots, plus elephants - but the crew for those is more easily made from the infantry if so desired).

Part of the issue with making broad investments, is that you attract customers initially, but you don't necessarily keep them in the long run, which could be the case here since only one kit is available in the range.

There is definitely people that want WW2 kits, despite the fact that there are several strong voices against doing something that other companies do.
As it has been mentioned already, this might mean that their models focus on less seen units or factions of WW2.

I would personally prefer more sci-fi releases or things like the afghans which fit well both in historical and as a sci-fi desert/mountain population, but that doesn't mean other kits releases hurt that expectation. As long as it is not either this or that, it should be fine, as all lines should be able to co-exist together. Lets see what they come up with.

I think we need to approach this with the same angle they probably are- what is there a market for in an already overly saturated market?

A resistance/ partisan sprue would be an awesome kit, for example. With WGA's penchant for including all sorts of heads you could easily have a very unique and distinct kit that could be used across all sorts of games, and with very simple conversions probably turn them into average citizens for any number of games across a "modern" time period.

It would certainly fill a niche... but it's pretty much wishful thinking on my part.

Wargames Atlantic ran a poll a couple of months back where they were after thoughts on a generic dark or middle ages sprue. If that comes to fruition and does well, it's not necessarily unreasonable to think that generic modern or sci fi options may come about.

After all, this is the company that goes from fantasy spiders through Persians, Dark Age Irish, sci fi French and Germans to sci fi Spiders...with some other stops on the way.

I'll be happy with pre-ordering Heavy Weapon Grognards in December. Who knows what I'll be pre-ordering in Dec 2021.

Even with the backlash regarding WWII kits, I think it's fair to say that we all like WGA and only want them to succeed. What they produce is completely up to them.
My final two cents on the "what to produce" topic: from what I gathered the last few decades in miniature lines, there are two thing that most people want:

1. At least two opposing kits.
So, if you do Conquistadores, do Aztecs also (well done!) - how about a kit to fight against the Chinese Boxers? French/British WWI are already planned I believe.

2. A somewhat complete range.
One box per subject is very limiting, and the Grognards show that there is demand to flesh out a range.Cramming a whole army in one box is rarely a good idea.
How about one of the most popular classical armies never done in plastic: Assyrians. Or new Kingdom Egyptians. Would require infantry, chariots and assyrian cavalry boxes though...

Enough rambling. Keep up the good work!
