Seeing as Warhammer was first. As a Dakka poster and GW player, you should know that. I hope that isn't sarcasm :p 'Cause Warcraft really did use a ton of the GW background for inspiration, I remember being shocked at WCII when I saw the way the Orcs were portraied exactly as GW had recently begun doing them (the Brian Nelson effect).

Let's just call it all "Das Nibelungenlied Online" since it's all ripped from Tolkein, who openly admitted to ripping of Wagner, who had made operas out of an ancient German version of a lost ancient Norse epic.

How awesome would that be? I'd buy it. Lots of things inspire projects of different types. Warcraft has always admitted to pulling from Warhammer lots of ides. In turn Warhammer was inspired by...and on and on. My Warhammer cost 40k you know.

Heck, when WCIII came out, the Alliance actually had a unit called a Steam Tank.
This was changed to Siege Engine when Frozen Throne was released.

GW actually sued Blizzard over the Steam Tank and Gyrocoptor, I believe.
The Dwarven Gryphon rider also had a saying when you clicked on the unit alot, "This Warhammer cost me 40k!"

Actually, I'm surprised too. I expected GW to call it WOW and then sue Blizzard for naming their game WOW (since GW only makes original things of course).
