Been etremely busy with school but found a few minutes here and there to mess around with this little project i've had floating in my head. I think I might be making some more of these in the future as well. I give to you, a shipping container:

Made from a velvetta box, some corrugated shipping material and a little plastic rod and some thin plasticcard.

Fun, cheap and effective terrain piece. A bunch more and it could realistically be a full table with just these. time to pick up some more super glue...

Very cool, I have been thinking about making one out of corrugated plasticard, making a mould and casting it in plaster..... but then I am obviously lazier than you Grey_death

Who knew the worlds greatest Apocalypse food also makes great terrain!

So not only can I survive against the endless waves of zombies, I can also make killer terrain in the process! G_D you just made my day.

Very nicely done. I second the notion for both a size comparison and paint!

Wow, thanks for the response everyone! I didnt expect something as myndane as a shipping container could get such a warm welcome!

I took a quick shot for those of you womdering about scale:

As you can see, the paint process has already begun! Juat a simple primer coat so far, but I think some fast airbrush work will get the container finished up nice and fast! Hopefully I can snag some time for that later this week.

It's nice to see big, functional and realistic looking terrain not festooned with skulls or too small to look 'real'... the fact it is velveeta... there is delicious irony there somewhere!

I finally got around to getting the container finished up. Wasn't terribly time consuming, though I did mess it up by trying to do a big stencil. Didn't come out so I just had to go back over it with the airbrush.

I dig the solid color though and basic (see: extremely basic) weathering that was dabbed on.

Simple and done! Don't mind the terrible photo!

Hopefully I can do some more of these in the future when time frees up a little more.

I think it looks pretty convincing. Did you say it was for Infinity games? I thought I remembered that, but couldn't find it in your posts...

Yeah, it doesn't scream "grimdark" to me (should there be an Orkmoticon for that?), but for Infinity it's pretty convincing....

Thanks for the comments guys

Rawson, Never really had Infinity plans for it, but more just general use piece of terrain. I wouldn't mind getting my infinity on, but it's hard to say when that would happen.

Gits, Thanks!

Yggs, Never had plans for this to push the grimdarking but I also don't think that every bit of 40k terrain needs to go down that route either. I do want to do a futuristic container someday though that might be cool to explore. It's simple stuff like this that I get caught up with

Thanks for the comments guys.

Git, definitely clean, but that's mostly because he hasn't made his mind up on battle damage or not I always try and guide people there, but it's his decision in the end!

+++++

Yar! Another Random one off model for Pesmerga's buddy this time. Was supposed to be a christmas gift, but I got caught up with classes. However I think the extra time to think about it lead me to a nice result

Was going to go very colorful and what have you like the studio version, but it just didn't fit the visuals in my head when I started. Rethinking it I decided I wanted to try and have a go at creating him with a much more monochromatic color scheme. There are a few touches of color here and there to break him up, mostly just gems and a touch of brown on the pouches, but in the end it was mostly shadow grey, space wolves grey combos that held him together. The metals are just Mithril Silver with Devlan Mud touched up. This was also my first finecast model and I'm not seeing a huge difference between it and regular resin in terms of modeling and painting.

The new harlequins are just stunning models... makes me wish I still played my eldar seriously. Nice choice of colors and design. The diamonds on the legs keep faith with the original concept while the color scheme makes him pleasing to the eye yet mysterious as well.

I agree with Git completely in regards to the diamonds and color palette. Personally though, I'd love to see some battle damage on him. That would be awesome. You don't see battle damage on Eldar models very often, it'd be a nice change of pace. Granted Eldar hardly wear armor, its mostly padded skinny jeans so the battle damage would mostly be torn fabric. They are also very small models, not a lot of bulk to emphasis the damage. Maybe dirty eldar?

Did I just talk myself out of my own dream of seeing battle damaged Eldar?

Damn, I think I did.
