and if this diorama is inside a complete black cube... (one side open of course! ) this might work regadless the "LotR feel of ghost army"...

you could add a little clear plastic "lense" where you could add some cross hairs...

if you made a scope oversized you could try to hide the diorama inside with a mechanism to make it rotate so that people get the full 360 view

actually if you do a scope diorama... then you could use green clear plasticsheat and thus get an instant NV look...

Maybe remove one of the weapons from the dead ork's hand and place it on the floor? I think it's kinda weird dead things kling to their weapons so thightly after dead.

@Rawson - yes I agree the double mags are not yet satisfactory. Even though in the dark, they will be hardly visible anyway, mostly black I guess, since they are under the rilfe, but I will see if I can find me some SM Bolters/mags.

@Dr H and Rawson - I thought a lot about the knife, but since the troopers are already built and they all have their rifles in hand (Do you know how hard it is to find good weaponless arms for IG??? ) I won't really be able to change much. I added a knife in the sheaf to the two standing troopers last night. The kneeling trooper received an empty sheaf, and a knife that's stuck in the ground in front of him....I hope this will work out.

@Vik and Rawson - wow, that cube/tube idea is rather slick
But I'm not sure if I can really pull this off. I need to spend some thinking time on this...

@Chelnov - well, I couldn't find any weaponless/open Ork hand in all of my bits. And since he came as a late addition to the scene, I didn't really want to spend that much time on it.

Other than the knifes I didn't have much time last night, so I didn't get anything further done. However this mornign I had some computer time and I did some testing on existing photos to see how the Dencara pattern colors would look via NV:



Some of the medium colors (Dwarf Flesh) in the camouflage is completely lost, many of the darker colors look pretty identical...
This will be a challenge :-P

In the meantime I also ordered some "dayglow color pigments" with which I will experiment here and see if I can use them for some of the highlight areas.

I think it looks really cool klaus, I wasnt sure how you where going to accomplish NV on the whole scene, but it turned out great!

Wow! That turned out even better than I thought it would. Very realistic!

the models look very good... where i have my problems is with the base... no NV effect there, which is akward...as the whole scene should then be done in NV without any exceptions...

I can see a touch of the NV effect on the base around the guys, I'm assuming the edges are a lot darker than they appear in the pics?

If the base is black/almost black then all good, if it's as light as it does appear then it looks more like green equipped dudes.

totally over read that link it seems... nice vid... specially as you gave a little tour over all your recent dio´s... and seeing then the swift and deadly one on a jar...priceless!!!

by the way... i wanted to see the boreas walker vid again... it´s blocked in germany due to music used in the background... any way to fix this?
