I'd love to play Battlefield 6, unfortunately my computer just couldn't hack it. I need to get a new PC at some point when I can afford it!

I've had zero free time but I've been playing a bit of Skyrim and remastered dawn of war recently.

Skyrim just starts to grab at me when the season changes and we head towards Winter.

Just finished my first playthrough of Ghost of Yotei. For me, it was a most excellent addition/sequel to Tsushima.

I see commentary online about a "gak" story because it's "just" a revenge tale. IMHO, those people don't get what the game is: a spaghetti western in 16th century Japan. To me, it's like getting that one special dish your grandmother always made. Yes, we've had this same thing many many times before, but all the ingredients were used just right to produce a properly good result.

But for now, i'm between games, as I will likely wait for the NG+ and/or legends mode updates to jump back in. I could go back to tsushima as I was only just in chapter 3 of my "current" playthrough on that game.

Picked up Ninja Gaiden 4 and its.... very very hard if nothing else. Platinum is definitely up to the task and it legitimately feels awesome when you get into the flow and tear a room apart while dodging attacks from every direction. The game also a nice prologue without a health bar to let you play around for a bit, but once you get into the first level it ramps up pretty quick.

With update 1.5 I began playing Rogue Trader again. Doing the Arbites dude's DLC and really enjoying it. My party is way overlevelled but as strong as they are, I didn't minmax as much as other people by the sounds of things.

After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. Patch notes mentioned 3 new non-astartes power armor spread through the game now, found any in Act 1?

Interestingly enough my constant chatting with a friend on steam got him to buy and play terra invicta himself. He seems to be feeling ok about it so far but i think he's on the same difficulty as me and i was doing WAY better than him at the same time period in the game. That said i also have far more experience at the game in comparison to him.

In my terra invicta game aliens destroyed my big space station and massive fleet docking it on Earth sadly but i increased my research and Water space resources. The aliens have been in Total War with me so i don't think there's any way of making them care less about me. I'm going to have to increase my water resources even more.

I also took china through conquest from the aliens and i took most of russia but the alien's servant human puppets took it back constantly to which i just stopped caring and stopped trying to take it.

I had to use a couple nukes to fight off the alien armies that landed and the alien nation pretty much just has that and no human armies left since i liberated a bunch of their faction's army regions.

My game is almost to 2045 but not quite yet. I may need to get my councilors to live longer than normal since they're all in like their 60's and 70's and any of them dying would be bad for me for a significant amount of time.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Still early in the game, feels pretty much ‘on rails’, despite the open world of the city. Combat isn’t very fun and feels limited. The initial mysteries that are thrown at you are intriguing enough to keep me interested, but I’m not sure how fun its going to be.

Could be something here, but my gut feeling is that its going to disappoint.

Returning to this after a few days. Might’ve been something good here, or at least something to build on, but it falls flat.

5/10.

If it wasn't called Bloodlines it might've been judged a bit less harshly, plus the devs are known for constantly undercooking their games.

Yeah, one reviewer I watched said Bloodlines 2 is a good enough vampire computer game, but a poor sequel to Bloodlines.

Anyway, I'm playing The Outer Worlds 2 and enjoying it so far. Currently on the second planet.

Yeah, Outer Worlds 2 has been fun. Especially if you grab the Space Ranger perk, the dialogue options that unlocks are hilarious, allowing you to roleplay as Commander Zane.

Pair it with Roustabout background, and Lucky, Innovative, and Dumb traits for a character who really should not be where they are but somehow muddles their way through, all the while loudly proclaiming that they are there to put down corrupt corporations and tyrannical governments.

I think I did everything I can do on the first planet, aside from finding 3 magazines and to infiltrate the Vox Relay to confront the traitor in Outer Worlds 2, which seems to be the last quest in the primary mission of this area.

My character has a triple barrel shotgun that holds 6 shells that just melts everything so far. Playing as a gunwielding engineer/hacker type that gets me everywhere I need to be.

edit: started over to go a alot more stealthy to satisfy my primal urge to stalk and kill. breezing through the first planet now that I know where to go and what to do.

Fun game!

Bioware - Jade Empire would be worth the price at $2. Not sure if it would be worth the time.
Morrowind would definitely be worth it IMO.

I was reading an article at work the other day about the rise of what the author is calling "dad games" . . . The author went super deep into researching it but, the short version is that these "dad games" popularity can be explained by aging demographics among gamers, limited game time due to professional/familial commitments, and the psychological hit of the "job well done" that so many dad games provide.

So, dad games, as a "definition" are typically games wherein one does a Job, the game starts as chaotic looking, and you make it orderly: so, car mechanic simulator, tank mechanic simulator, train simulator, euro trucker simulator, power washer simulator, stadium renovator, ship scrapping simulator, etc. All of them are designed to be pretty simple to grasp mechanically (even if there are "deep" mechanics, they make sense, are intuitive and pretty easy to get to/use), tend away from frustration, etc. So, basically, the opposite of what all "the youths" are on with their fortnites and CODs and battlefield and whatnot. It's a way to unwind without all that excess drama and "excitement".

Biggest drama for me in Power Wash 1 was a missing cat.

Biggest drama for me in Power Wash 2 was who would get custody of said cat and her kittens.

All the drama and excitement I needed in that game.

Somehow, I discovered XWVM, an upgrade/mod for the good old X-Wing game.

I feel that it's going to be one of those mods that permanently lives in alpha or beta state as it gets tinkered with but it's brought me back!

Looks amazing, plays well (so far), makes me want to buy a bigger monitor.

I wondered if the gameplay style had lost its charm over the decades, but I'm still having loads of fun with it.

I hit the point where I mostly have this one figured out and it feels simply incredible to play. Just tearing through rooms in what must look simply impossibly chaotic but feels completely in my control. Game feel on this one is Platinum at their absolute best with really clean dodge and parry windows as well as nicely mixed enemy encounters that encourage swapping weapons to deal with different groups of foes. Definitely one I'm going to go back and play more when I'm done.

Two bits of advice. One, the game is kind of unforgiving with its health powerful system and you kind of need a guide if you want the side stuff because its not really possible to go back for. That said, I think the real thing to know about the difficulty is that the game is generally very generous with health items and expects you to use them. When you pick up beyond your capacity it actually gets converted directly into funds that you'll rather quickly only be able to use to buy more potions. Definitely use them to get through the boss encounters and the challenge is very manageable.

The Flaw Mechanic in Outer Worlds 2 is pretty hilarious.

From developing bad knees that crack when crouched, the inability to stop stealing things, to this new flaw where my party takes a large percentage of my earnings and stores it away, only to be returned when I hit certain levels is hilarious. I spend so wildly that the game recognized I need to start saving, lol.

Pretty fun game, and I think its something I’ll replay quite a bit.

The best flaw is Easily Distracted, because it's hilarious just how many people misunderstood what it does because they were apparently too easily distracted when reading its description.
