Never run out of money in FC3, rather the contrary, my wallet was always so full I had to waste ammo so I could still loot those pesky mercs.

^^ Exactly the problem I had. One of the first things I maxed out was the wallet capacity.

Ya, it was a bit silly your wallet had a capacity problem that only killing sharks could solve.

Hey, a selfmade sharkskin wallet is really manly, who would't want such a thing?

Not saying it's not really manly just saying I don't see why it holds more bills than the other one I made out of stray dogs.

I always rationalized it as him making ANOTHER wallet. Him carrying around three wallets for the immense amount of money always amused me.

I was getting vaguely interested in this game of which you speak but... if the guy isn't smart enough to convert to carrying his too much money in some kind of backpack or sack (i don't care if it's made of sharks, thats fine if it floats your boat)... he can't be too bright of a protagonist =/

Oh he has a backpack. And an ammo pouch. And four weapon slings. And a syringe pack. And an explosives pouch. And a thrown weapons pouch. An arrow quiver. A rocket pack and his wallet.

The pack is somewhat magical. Sometimes it can hold 96 leaves. Other times it can hold the skins of 96 bears.




Honestly the crafting thing is about the most artificial thing in the game but it does force you to explore the island, so that's a good thing.

It sounds interesting enough, I hadn't ever looked into it. Just looked like some kind of action game and I only ever get a small percentage of those that are made. Limiting your money seems a bit odd though, although I think they did it on bioshock as well.

It's not that much of a limitation. I ran out because I walked into a situation I wasn’t prepared for. Most of the time you have more than what you need.

But generally Far Cry 3 is excellent. It gives you an expansive world to explore with plenty of variety to be found and lots of different methods of getting around. It has a fun story that plays on the conceit of FPS protagonists that murder hundreds of people a day and has you playing through the eyes of a guy who gets a little too used to killing. The combat is visceral and exciting, and you can approach the game in many different ways. I tend to go the stealthy approach (and stealth works really well in this game), finding good vantage points, marking targets, using distraction techniques, silenced weapons and various other tricks.

And then occasionally a tiger jumps you whilst you’re lining up the perfect shot.

I might have to put it on my list for steam, I've got so many games I haven't gotten to yet... but it does sound interesting for sure.

Now enough talk of this modern nonsense, back to my fairly oldschool baldurs gate shenanigans...

Dark Souls is currently devouring my... soul. Loving it though. Great game. Not forgiving which is a nice change.

Just started Arkham Origins New Game Plus, after beating the normal campaign.

Love me some Arkham series!

Anyone do that game mode after New Game Plus? Looks insane.

Reinstalled WoT. Taking me a minute but I am getting my head back into it.

Played through Fallout these last two days, good fun, especially now that I decided to take something completely different: Small Guns, Stealth and Repair along with thFast Shot and Bloody Mess traits, because of the alternate ending.

Also, managed to score me a suit of power armour, got that hardened, but ended up not really needing it as stealth worked a whole lot better than I thought, especially paired with the ability to talk the Master out of his wicked ways and sneaking my way through Mariposa virtually unopposed thanks to a high stealth skill.

I love this game.

I put about four hours into Fallout 3....and never played it again.

Am I doing it wrong?

No, you are mostly doing it right. Play the first two is what I would recommend.

No you must be doing something wrong. FO3 is one of the best games ever.

It's kind of hard to describe why, but I think I still like it better than new vegas. Kind of the same with oblivion and skyrim, but skyrim brings enough to the table that I still prefer it overall.

Still plowing through BG2:EE, already planning out my next guy to run through it all from bg1. Torn between lv 13 stalker dual to cleric, or cleric/thief.

Is it only just me here, but FO3 was weak compared to the others in the main series, especially one and two. And best game ever? If we were going for the FPS RPG genre, I say Deus Ex gets that almost hands down over FO3.

Yeah, at the time I was happy Fallout 3 happened just because I didn't want the franchise to die; that said compared to 1 & 2 it was pretty garbage. I liked NV better than three because of the setting, a little more humor, and a better UI/upgrades and crafting system, but it still wasn't as good and 1 & 2.

And now Wasteland 2, kiddies!

Using my 'totally not a WFB Chaos Lord on Steed" Chaos Knight in Dota 2. Heck, I even named his sword the MURDER SWORD!!!!!1111!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!11!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a .50 Cal sniper rifle! I fear no heavy trooper now.

About half-way done on Fary Cry 3's second island. I even managed to take out a privateer base using nothing but the grenade launcher. I did it from atop a nearby radio tower! Used the GL as a mortar basically. First shot took out 3 guys!

I still play XCOM:Enemy Within, 492 hours invested now and completed it a zillion times, got 99% on achievements. Yet, it still is fun!

Other than that I play Civ 5 (597 hours in) and waiting for Age of Wonders III. I so hope it is not some Heroes VI clone, but am afraid it is. Yet, I need to keep having faith in my countrymen.

I prefer new vegas awsell. The tone and setting seems far more in sync with the first two games.

Aye, Fallout 3 is certainly more dour and surprisingly heavy on the survivor logs of people in the first few days and weeks after the bombs fell, dayumn.

The one thing I couldn't stand in that game was how filthy everything was! I mean, I can understand it in the abandoned cities, or the vaults were people were sealed in longer than they should have been, but in places people built? Why was Megaton pretty much covered in dirty old newspapers and muddy cardboard boxes everywhere, including indoors!? Could nobody take a hammer and straighten out some of the bent up table legs? Replace a couple of the broken locker doors? I mean seriously!
