I got addicted to Hearthstone last night.

Dammit. I had stuff to paint..

Been playing The Banner Saga recently and I can safely say that I'm impressed. Great story, great combat system, very enthralling game overall.

Now I have to figure out how to beat giants with normal people, so far it hasn't worked out well.

It looks kind of like Oreg.. Viking Trail, or something, but another poster early on said there wasn't as much of that as it appeared from the trailer. I think it's kind of TRPG or RPGT or however you say it, something along the lines of final fantasy tactics or ogre battles or front mission or the like, and with some caravan management between fights or something.

It looked neat, but I've got such a back log.

Just got an invite for ESO's weekend stress test, so I'm psyched about that.

Will download Outlast tonight and give that a shot.

I may pop on for a bit and try it again. This'll be the third or fourth invite. I really got a good feeling from in the first time, second time made me retch, skipped the third. Not sure what changed inbetween those two times other than me playing skyrim after the first. I thought the archery was pretty lame/alien to how it works in other ES games, maybe magic or melee is better. And it could have changed, willing to give it a chance.

Metro:Last Light was free on PS+.
Not really into it, doubt I will keep on too much more.

Waiting a week or so for new games and looking at replays to take up the slack.

Got myself Diablo 3 last week and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm almost through with a demonhunter character on normal difficulty.

Playing Final Fantasy VIII. I'm on the 3rd disk out of 4. I want to actually finish it this time around. Bloody brilliant though.

Load out and World of tanks mostly atm.

I played witch doctor first and then daemon hunter. I got all the way to inferno difficulty with the witch doctor but then it got stale and boring because in act 2 you had to farm equipment which sucked (because the market was full of it and it was all garbage and you couldn't get sh*t worth of money from it in the early acts of inferno), farm gold (which also sucked) or farm some treasure goblins with people (you make a group where you each search for a treasure goblin in a different game and when you find one don't attack it and you let everybody else know so you all can get to the same game and kill the treasure goblin and get that loot together). Anyway no matter what route you chose it was about farming something which ultimately grinded the game to a halt and made it suck. Then again part of this is because the first few versions of diablo 3 and inferno itself were stupid ridiculous.

Anyway I'm not sure how diablo 3 is now but back then you had already capped at level 60 so at best you were getting low end level 60 gear which was low value in the marketplace. Even though it often sucked legendaries were super rare but always got a good price. Maybe people just broke them down for spare parts so they could get the rare ingredients. I wouldn't know as I never got that far.

So yeah the game is fun but on your 4th replay of the whole game when you even just get to inferno for that you have to constantly farm act 1 for gear. In act 2 the champions were too hard to really kill and most of the gear came from them and you had to kill them or mini-bosses/bosses in order to anything worth while and champions or elite to get 'stacks' (for every group of champions you killed you got extra luck and magic find and that was called 'stacks').

That's just how it was. It might be different now but I got tired of farming gear from the first act and whole parties of people just got owned by elites in the early versions of the game. My suggestion if normal marketplace is even still open is that you get the absolute most DPS base weapon you can find. The other stat-boosting stuff on your gear is just gravy which isn't as big a deal later on if you can do more damage with your base weapon. You'll notice it makes the most difference. Oh and back then tank characters kind of became jokes in the early versions of diablo 3 inferno difficulty.

I'm not even sure if marketplace is still open but act 2 of inferno was where the game stopped being fun and turned into a farming experience of act 1 for gear. Me and an extreme gaming friend just gave up on diablo 3 and he went back to WoW. Marketplace for normal trades might not even exist anymore but I'm not sure.

So dude I hope you have your fun I really do. I might play through more as demon hunter myself as I only beat normal and still have the other difficulties to do. That said I don't think i'll go through the grind again. I'd rather just play 'xcom: enemy within' some more where I can beat it on the highest difficulty (impossible difficulty) without the need for farming gear for my troops and with save points in case I lose hard.

^ supposedly when the expansion comes out the loot is getting changed to be more useful, and the auction houses are being cllossed forever. Loot 2.0 or something.. whatever they implemented for the console release.

Dont get your hopes up for anything Blizzard dose with the Diablo franchise, the game sucked ass when it came out last year, and it still sucks ass. They ruined a very, very good series with this abomination of a game instead.

I think there was way too much nostalgia and good will for d2 for any follow up to be especially well received. I had fun enough for a time.

Nostalgia, no, but good will very much so, because Diablo 2 was a very good game. Always Online and the Real-Money Auction House combined with a lore-breaking story and poor balance/design decisions killed Diablo 3. Aparently the expansion will fix many of these things, but I feel it's too little, too late.

And as long as the game is Always Online (something not required for the console version, so it's not as if it needs it), I will never buy it.

Civ V again. Waiting for my friend to come online for another session.

This git at work leant me dark souls. This is without a doubt the hardest game I have ever played.

Glutton for punishment though, I can't help but keep coming back for more!

Currently playing Dead Rising 3 and Battlefield 4. Fun enough, but I'm already salivating at the new Alien game.

Still have the following games to finish on the 360;
- Dead Space 3
- Red Dead Redemption
- Bioshock: Infinite
- a third play through of Mass Effect 3 with all DLC.

I'm just starting to play a game called City of Steam Arkadia, it's a very fun and interesting little game.

Would hate to be a downer but it's pretty much universally agreed that just about anything having to do with the 'aliens' franchise after the 3rd movie has sucked esp. when predators aren't also involved in which case the predators pull the weight of the sucktitude of everything else (it would seem my spell check is telling me 'sucktitude' isn't a real word ;P).

@HBMC: I honestly don't look very highly upon blizzard anymore. I was never really super fond of them but they were good. I still feel like I'm happier than when they only focused on warcraft though. Warcraft as a series has never really interested me. Diablo 3's story seemed ok but other than playing the 2nd I wasn't really knowledgeable of the lore they created for it. I even found the follower Lyndon to be the best of the 3 followers and wasn't sure if I wanted to stuff a sock in his mouth or laugh at some of what he said.

Demon hunters as a new class seem pretty cool but they just look like a ranged version of assassins or just seem like rogues pretty much. It's sad that all the classes they added seem like the same stuff as they had in diablo 2 and they even kept the barbarian (dunno why they did that). I guess they didn't really have any new exciting ideas for classes. Perhaps that's just how fantasy is. Nothing really new has been done in some time as far as classes go.

As far as starcraft goes I honestly feel mixed about the series. I couldn't be any more disappointed with the 'killing mengsk' end cinematic though. There was like a pre-alpha version on youtube at one point and the dialog was infinitely better. The changed dialog makes mengsk seem more like a cartoony villain and then they give raynor and Kerrigan a stupid romance scene. I'm so tired of that romance. I just wish jim moved on at some point. Any relationship in the real world works that way. Something tells me a woman turning into some evil monster (not considering periods) would be the letting go point in the relationship esp. since the best outcome over a ton of work still ends pretty poorly. I dunno watching him get led on by her in brood war was just disgusting. People leave people over less than being manipulated by an evil murderous b*tch that was zergified. Funny thing is I don't even think they really showed much of a relationship other than a small implication that there may have been some feelings between the two. Which makes him caring so much for her seem much weirder.

I'm switching off between a couple different games, but most of my time is split between KOTOR and Reaper: Tale of a Pale Swordsman. The latter was only $5 on Steam, and it's been plenty of fun so far.

Thankfully this is going for Alien instead. Deliberately going away from the "Vietnam in space" thing that everyone else has done.

Back on the X-COM train for me. Still haven't got around to getting enemy within but its getting more tempting. And as always messing around in starcraft with friends playing 3v3's or monobattles

Viking-esque turned based RTSRPG (hero based combat). Pretty amazing artwork, story and gameplay. Difficult, but very fun.

I'm back to X-Com myself, so much awesome. Been doing Impossible Ironman playthroughs trying to get a perfect one.

Yeah well people thought the aliens vs predator game would be good but it wasn't. Then aliens: colonial marines was supposed to be "true" to the series and that got even worse fan reaction. Now there's this. It's just time to let that franchise die already. The aliens franchise had a good run. Best not to dig the hole any deeper.

@frankenberry: You're playing on impossible ironman? I have trouble just playing impossible though I've beaten classic ironman plenty. You have my sympathies. This is like battle-toads level rage right there if not worse.

@FirePainter: Enemy Within is amazing as an expansion. It's everything slingshot was not and people wished slingshot was. After slingshot I didn't expect enemy within to be so good but I was impressed. We still need some new maps for larger downed alien spacecraft. I just wish that 'exalt' could've had more screen time but maybe it's fair that they didn't considering they're not the main focus of the game. I really would like to see an Exalt playable campaign at some point even if that's unlikely (give them more insane and morally wrong gene mods than xcom). Other factions would be cool as well. Xcom is was for a time my game to play. It's very addictive and I threw hundreds upon hundreds of hours into it (something like 700-800 hours and most of them within the first month or two I had it in which is probably unhealthy).
