I have a question, can we get some DAK style female desert shorts/uniforms? Like the person on the left?

Looking forward to putting in an order for female Greatcoat Tannenbergs to act as a defence force for my Sledgehammer battery when it arrives.

Legs with shorts would be cool, they are on my very long list.

Motorcycle is still on the workbench.

Quite generous to give them with any order, no matter how small. I may just put in one or two small bits orders then on the right days, as I've been waiting for bigger things to arrive since the start of the year now.

Oh I will!

Buy the way, I know it was probably a Reaper choice but that packaging looks fantastic for showing off the Sledgehammer...

...apart from the fact that a package made up of three of those will be hard to hide from my Higher Reporting Authority!

Introducing a shiny new regiment to the Galaxy's Finest; The Rausenburg Siege Corps. These greatcoat troops have already been spotted crewing the upcoming BFG Sledgehammer. Now their foot-slogger comrades join them, starting with the Rausenburg Siege Corps 10 Woman Squad and the 5 Woman Squad. The Rausenburg men will join them in the coming weeks.

And the 12 days of Christmas Free minis offer starts in 2 hours

Now, I have a Captain Caine (x2, one converted to kilted legs).

Which mini to go for?

Drummer Girl for a Command Squad it is. The slush fund takes a hit tomorrow.

I love the crew, Vic. They're rather characterful.

Too bad only three of them are actually working, the others are bludging hard!

You've managed to sail so far past my point that you've accidentally discovered the New World mate. That's what happens when you cut away all the bits of a post that provide the context, that being the relative scale of models.

Yes, but the part you missed from my post while you were simultaneously raiding the pre-Colonial Caribbean is that if Victoria Miniatures is going to clearly make models to resemble an old GW product line, it would be nice if those models actually fit in with that product line. The ArCadians appear to not be ideal to intermix with the metal Cadians that they're clearly inspired by. And they don't fit with the existing plastic Cadians, so they've basically made it less desirable for purchasers like me who might have otherwise incrementally bought them to round out my army. Modular resin oldCadians could be outfitted with all the special weapons or heavy weapons that weren't available to the metal range, for example. Or make good character models.

And it isn't like they had to be scaled with the plastic Cadians. Forgeworld's Elysians and Krieg are distinctly smaller than the current plastic ranges.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I'll regret wading into this, but the Arcadians share some design cues with the old metal Cadians while keeping the superior proportions of Forgeworld's guard lines. Anything, anything at all, that made them blend with the plastic Cadians would diminish them as models. So that option is right out.

And they're close enough to the metal Cadians that I think you could mingle them and rely on paint jobs to obscure the differences. I don't know how much closer you need them to look. I'm happy they aren't just ripoffs of GW sculpts.

Honestly aside from the weapons they blend in pretty well in my opinion. But you know, that's like, my opinion brah. Sorry they're not finished. Obviously she can't copy them completely, because that's illegal, but I think they match up well enough at tabletop distance. Biggest issue honestly is the weapons, and the larger shoulder pauldrons. If someone sold the old style lasguns (I believe they're "Ryza" pattern) you could get them really close.

But they make them more appealing to someone like me who like those aesthetics but want miniatures in modern quality and scale to fit with my other modern quality and scale miniatures.

Spoiler:

I think the Vic Minis Lasgun MkIII would be the best bet- it looks like the Triplex Phall pattern, which is what all the old Cadians, Praetorians, Valhallans, Tallarn and Mordians are carrying. The Ryza pattern was the really old Rogue Trader weapon, that had a tapered barrel shroud and a ribbed pattern on the shroud.

Reposting since nobody really answered my question the first time, but how exactly do you use the dress uniform torso with the greatcoat legs, given that the former isn't double breasted?

It is double breasted though. In fact, the only torsos in the entire range that aren't obviously double breasted are the highland torsos, the winter torsos, and all of the armored torsos.

All the torsos except the Dress Uniform Torsos have the buttons covered with armor or webbing making them compatible with any legs.

These are some of the highest quality resin figures ever produced. When you can see the wrinkles in their sleeves, buttons like that, and character in the face of that caliber, you have hit the pinnacle of the craft. For the price, these figures are the best of the best. They fit alongside the old metals with minimal effort, BTW. Better, then Forgeworld, by any stretch. ( is that too much?)

Not that it matters to my eventual order on Tuesday as they'll be on it, but with the standard bearer bits as they're noted as being "male"; how much of a challenge would it be to get them onto one of the female torsos? I realize I could go grab a set of arms and try, but rather than find yet another distraction from the cleaning I should be doing I figured I'd just ask.

Thanks for any response!

There's a fair bit of size difference between the male and females. I'd say about 5-10%.

They'd come out looking a bit ape-ish.

Thanks, that's handy information to know.

I happen to have a few Tannenburg males mixed in with the army so that won't be a major issue; fluffwise carrying-the-big-stick-that-makes-you-a-huge-target will be one of their assigned roles along with opening ration jars. I might try the one arm version on a greatcoat female though as I'm thinking the hand wrapping around will make it hard to tell the arm is a smidge on the long-side at tabletop distances.
