Look really nice!

What sort of rules systems are these minis likely to be most popular with?

Mass battle rules a la Warhammer Ancients: War and Conquest, Clash of Empires, Hail Caesar, Dux Bellorum, etc.

And skirmish games like: SAGA, Dux Britanniarum, etc.

They could probably also slip into Warhammer Bret armies as well...

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I heard a while ago that SAGA might branch out into this kind of era.

Would LOVE for that to happen, big fan of the rules but no so much of the era of combat which they represent.

Those look awesome!

I'm intrigued by the new rules set as well, although has been pointed out there are already a number of them on the market.

Looks like some kind of rank & file mass combat system perhaps?

^ Count-as bowmen for the crossbows, easily... or just nab some bowmen from the Perrys to go with them.

I really like these minis.

Between Fireforge Perry, and Mantic, there should be loads of options for getting a great looking fantasy human army together, I plan on buying all three ranges to mix and match, since they'll all have their strong points.

Could use some artillery though - trebuchets, bolt throwers and the like.

Also, Landskencht in hard plastic is still my #1 want as far as historicals goes.

Finally the teutonic foot knights are nearly here!

Although I was kind of hoping for some slightly different helmets but they look to be identical to what you get in the mounted knights set

I'm a bit disappointed that there is only one arm set for each the 2-handed axe and sword. I was looking forward to doing some up as Axemen of Lossarnach. I also find it interesting that they put crossbow arms in the set, given that they were already in the Sergeants box, and I'm not aware of crossbowmen often wearing full mail.

Yea, in fact I wasnt expecting half the box to be more or less slightly altered sergeants. I was expecting a full on foot knight set

They look pretty good with a decent paintjob! Shame about the tabs on the feet rather than actual bases, chopping those things of is a right pain!

I've been having no troubles with the tabs on their other products. They make great surfaces for gluing onto whatever basing you're going to use and disappear pretty well with some basing texture and flock.

True, but they are pretty standard for historicals, which makes sense given the variety of systems out there, as they allow them to be based how you need.
