What a great morning one of my favourite blogs has been updated after too long. Not only has it been updated it has been updated with the beginnings of an Inq28 Warband - go have a look and comment at ghosty's blog http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/293763.page#4639778

RW - I am thinking brown for the guardsman uniform. With dirty white armour and dark metal, with a reddy tinge. I want the skin to be healthy coloured but with boils and sores from being unhealthy and dirty rather than Nurglii, the armour plates on their wastes will be a dark pinky red.. The Haegtesse will be very simple black robes with probably white edging and symbols from the dark tongue painted on, the shawl will be dark pinky red.

prime12357 - the shotgun was a moment.

Vitruvian XVII - Cheers bud

Ghostflame - run out of pouches....never ever going to happen. A friend of mine gave me three massive GW bags of sprues when he moved to Scotland.

I don't want to sound like I'm fawning, so I'm going to hold back on the praise as much as I can, but I really do think these are brill. Some of my favourite bits:

- Stowage on the grunts. You've got a real knack for making large loads of kit 'hang' naturally, and I think they show that really well. Looks like they're actually equipped, rather than have had bits glued to them.

- The postures. The hunched gent on the right looks really natural, like the bag actually weighs something. Might be more of point one, but I still think it's ace. The witch's right hand is wonderful too - really dynamic positioning, somehow suggests a restrained power.

- Your general skill for making eclectic and ridiculously differing kits mesh in a coherent way. Always blows me away.

Restraint, and yet it still reads a little like fawning. Will have to do. Keep it up, Pete, and tell Neil that I am jealous that you lot get to play together

Ghostflame - I think it was because I'd cooked him dinner on far too many occasions.

LLD - and for that I'm not Friending you back!

SpicyBadger - Cheers. I've just looked at yours....the fat servitor in the heavy weapons team is cool....I should probably mention this on your blog rather than here....

Scarper - I am one lucky MoFo getting to play on Neil's board Scotland is only one country up and 2.5 hours away from me and about £35 day return.....never say never.

When I was building the two guardsman I was worried that they would look too similar to the chappy with Autogun and Flamer from my Inq Warband because of the legs and baggage. Fortunately the top halves and unhealthy heads (and a distinct lack of purity seals) rectified that problem. As for the large amount of kit I feel that it makes them look like soldiers, who i imagine would carry shed loads of gear if they were heading into the belly of a potentially hostile space hulk....thank god there are no genestealers.

I really love the Nurgle Death Heads on the renegade gaurd and the good news is there is a third one on the sprue

I was wondering if you were going to struggle to make more. Have you used the ones from the banner pole? Because there are also some held in their hands by the looks of it (if memory serves correctly these are blight grenades).

Love the finished models by the way, really good look. I also really like the idea of chaos undivided as something other than just meaning covered in spikes.

Bruticus - Blight grenades/Death Heads are the same thing....just 40k/fantasy (me being old enough to own the Lost and the Dammed) as far as I can make out. But apparently the head from a champion of tzeentch is the most effective vessel. There are three single heads on the sprues and any others would come from the banner poles (which look to be copies of the single heads with boils in different locations. Good for this project since I only want/need two or three guys. Well I am sure chaos can be spiky but that doesn't have to be the aesthetic for all cults and worshippers. These guardsman are guardsman first who happen to worship dark gods. Since seeing Neil's easter egg I might have to build something that is swaying towards Khorne than undivided.

Neil - That is wicked mate. Cheers for that because not only is it a great easter egg but gives me a clue as to how to base this group. Grey and black and dirty ace. Cheers. I think this deserves a blood thirsty beastman to go with it. But this week I am painting....bases first as always. Oh nice use of Tamiya clear red, right?

LDD - I might change my mind after I've posted this

Wow, just wow. These are mind blowing, I have been trying to achieve something similar in my thread but you really just knock it out the park. I have had a massive struggle getting legs that work with the militia torsos and have been using greatsword legs but you have used the archer kit ones perfectly, I may have to pull some models apart and start again. Can not wait to see where this goes.

evildrcheese - I started painting the haegtesse last night. I did a base coat and a wash of dark reddish black on the cloak.

nathanie1 - It is the pouches that made the legs viable options for the torsos. Had to hide the join. Just had a quick look and your slaaneshii chaos warriors are very interesting....love the idea of the champion with four arms.

Scrazza - Cheers

Always a fan of your work, PDH, and your Chaos warband is no different! It's good to see something a bit more involved than the "shaving the aquila off the chest of guardsmen" renegades

PDH wrote:I just love that because it is chaos no one is questioning how the guys with sewn up eyes can walk around never mind see people to shoot their guns at.

Haven't you seen Book of Eli? At least with chaos there is a reason why they can still function (and more importantly, shoot) while blind. Man, that movie really got me

Rogue Wolves - Me too....though I am worried people might just assume Nurlge because of dirty white armour and Death Guard connotations.

nathanie1 - Roll on new WOC book then. I might have to borrow a few ideas from him for a combat monster in this warband. Neil's is spoiling us with his amazing terrain. It looks immense.

The Good Green - No the shovel is actually an armour plate from the enforcers kit...but from now on it is a modified shovel. Well I don't imagine more than 10 models and knowing me that number of guys is going to be impossible by October. But we shall see.

Rawson - Well it isn't that different I am just using FW renegade parts (so praise be to Mark Bedford) and ragged appearance down below. The heads on the other hand are different and ace.

The hanger doors opened with a hiss of steam and the Master stomped across the deck toward the waiting shuttle. Slave crews and toilers eyes immediately became down cast and they moved quickly but respectfully out of his path. Closing quickly with the shuttle he noted that the baggage slaves were already aboard, with the supplies his small task force would require for a protracted stay aboard the Arkke.

The group waiting outside the shuttle were the handpicked collection of slaves, bond servants and followers whose presence aboard the Arkke had been foreseen. He thought how that boundary between slave and follower was now somewhat blurred, all these being were now willing participants in this pilgrimage. They were all still frightened of him, even those whose fear had left them respected that he could crush them with ease, even though they were safe from his wrath until they were aboard the Arkke for he would not break the prophecy.

He came to a stop in front the witch, guardsmans, beasts, cultists and the xenos standing before him and thought back to their acquisition. It had started with the visions three years ago...

monkeytroll - Aye going chaotic....a little of what you fancy does you good.

Baiyuan -

I have done a bit of painting this week but not enough. I hope to have the Haegtesse finished soon though. I have decided to build the third guardsman before painting any of them so they can be troop painted (yikes not a phrase I use very often) perhaps a better way of phrasing it would be painting them together to get a uniform colour scheme. I also picked up the parts for my first heavy who will be the xenos mentioned above....no spoilers on what I am using though.

I didn't have too much time this weekend but this afternoon I have done about 90% of my xenos heavy with ???? ??? and the third guardsman. The guardsman looks so arrogant and I've really happy with him. The xenos is looking pretty good so far with only minor conversion really. The hardest bit of modelling him was bastardising imperial and xenos technology.

izeColt - Cheers mate. Man I have too much to do and not enough time....good news is with what I have built/building so far I am on about 750 creds....so only 650 to go....so maybe one or two really expensive characters

progreen10 - ok

Northen - Hey dude. Cheers bud. I can promise some painted shots of the witch in the next week.
