I ain't dead, I've just been more busy with trying to work out a design for the deff dread transport I've been talking about on the propoused rules section. at first I looked at the SSU copter I showed in the thread, but then I tried using the star wars walker carrying thing. little known fact: Jedi is a word taken from Japanese that refers to a historical film (which may explain why they get periodically wiped out )
anyways I do have some actual work to show you:
this is my Yellow Comet Krusha. you may recognize it's shape from the game Advanced Wars. I'm using this as a kill krusha. also I'm expecting some plasticard tommorow, and maybe I'll be able to get a box of stormboyz done tonight, but I've got a LAN party in the lobby of my dorm tonight soon. so it all depends on when my glue decides it wants to cure.

here's my latest work, and for once it isn't a scratchbuild, it's a mega dread:
it's still a WIP, still needs some gap filling, and some exhaust hoses.
also here's the stormboyz I told you about, which are now done.
I'll see if I can get anything done tonight, but next up is the meka dread.

thanks, it's the killkannon from the BW upgrade sprue. also I've got a WIP meka dread on deck (just needs a few details and some mek arms) and some bunas that just need some bases, which should be coming in the mail any day now along with the minis for Sakura and Hera. until then I've got another dread and two boxes of bikers that need my attention. good thing it's almost the weekend.

I've got some stuff I did yesterday to show you:
first up is three bikers I made:
the biker nob has the biggest dakkatana I think I've ever made, so I named him Cloud:
and another interesting biker I made I named after a friend of my mother's, I call him Mr. Chang:
I'm actually thinking of transferring Chang to my nobz biker unit, where in the tradition of Wuxia doctors also being great martial artists he will be the painboy. I know I'm mixing Chinese stuff in here but I justify it by saying that Chang was originally part of Haruto's Helljumper Wokou before being transferred to Takashi's Wild Ones recon (my biker army). I call him Mr. Chang instead of Dr. Chang because I think it has a better ring to it if you pronounce it like "mista" and adds some swagger to it.
also I've got a little pic to show you the three types of dreads in my dread mob army:
I call it: "Raising the Bar, Dread Style"
that's all I've got for now, enjoy

hey sorry there haven't been many updates recently, but I realized that I wouldn't be able to transport all my orks home for Christmas break, and that kind of sucked out any creative juices I had. so I'm putting this army on the back burner for a month or two while I work on another project: re-building my imperial guard force. I'm in the planning stages of giving them a SWTOR theme, and I'll be asking about them for the next couple of days trying to get ideas.

NEWS!: the orks are home, with only the super heavy vehicles not making the trip. and I've started working on Haruto's unit: "Da Helljumpaz" an airborne list that is a tribute to my grandpa who served in the 82nd Airborne. in the list is a unit of nobz who are the elite commandos of the list, and here are the three I've got done:
also I haven't had as much time to work on my minis because I've been running a thriving wholesale business in the game Wakfu. if any of you play on the Nox server please feel free to contact Sutter and place an order. also I'll try to get back to writing fluff as soon as possible, but my creative juices just haven't been flowing for the past couple of weeks. I'll see what I can do.

Report to the Inquistor:
my lord, while most ork attacks have subsided there is one group with which I believe we should be concerned. they are a group of what the xenos call "the cult of speed" who are devoted to attacking from the sky in the dark of night on locations far from the front lines. to the uninformed guard commanders these attacks seem to be unrelated, however all the locations attacked have been locations where we have positioned research outposts, as well as locations where Vanus agents have been stationed. we have little information on their internal structure as the multiple callidus assassins we have sent to infiltrate them have had their bodies left behind during their raids shot by imperial weapons.only one survived long enough to identify their leader before succumbing to her wounds.
the leader has been identified as an ork known as "the white phantom" who appears to suffer from monomania. he believes that he is the dead human prince of this planet Haruto Yamamoto. his known for wearing the mask of a demon from the local style of theater with a red face and a stark white wig. it is advised that his death be a priority if the situation presents itself.
also as a side note: some of the men have gotten word of a local holiday known as the Feast of Saint Cristos, and with the lessened threat of ork attack they are demanding to celebrate the holiday. even the commissars are demanding that any emperor fearing guardsman be allowed to spend the day in worship and celebration. forgive me for stepping out of place, but I believe it would be disasterous for morale if the men's requests are not met. we could be dealing with a full scale mutiny if we do not give them this day to renew their devotion to the god emperor.
response from the inquisitor: request denied, the diviners are giving grave warnings about that date.as of this moment any guardsman caught attempting to be festive will be executed on the spot, and the rest of his unit will be devastated. Automatically Appended Next Post: to: Archimedes

nature: requisition of basic gear for Helljumper unit
hi Brains,
we've been testing different gear load outs for the Helljumper unit, and I think we've finally worked out a basic load out:
the basic load out includes the standard issue clothes and leg guards, but the helmet was restricting vision too much for the unit to fire effectively at speed. we've also added a backpack to carry extra logistical supplies needed for operating behind enemy lines. please forward the design to Haruto for final approval.

alright I'm back in a fluff writing groove, here's my latest work:
Orka had gathered his family in the briefing room to plan for the coming offensive. “alright, the data pad obtained by Miss. Lilith put a name to our enemy: Inquisitor Kryptman. As to what he plans to do, well I will leave that to Lilith as she has first-hand knowledge of his plans.”
Lilith rose from her seat. Her sythskin glove had become worn over the past few weeks as she had no real way to repair it, and with the innocent look on her face she looked like some kind of hive urchin. “thank you, the inquisitor is a big fan of the emperor’s tarot and divination in general. He believes that an ork waaagh is going to start here that will destroy this sector, and his plan was to use me as a seductress to lure Mr. Nobzunaga into a trap. Now that I’m out of his grasp I think he will try to use some other young woman instead.”
Momotaro interjected. “so that explains why we’ve had reports of imperial guardsmen rounding up all the women in a town and taking them away?.”
“yes,” doc replied. “the mutagen used on Lilith was a crude version with inconsistent results. It is likely that only one in a thousand of his test subjects will be successful.”
“and what happens to the others?” Sakura asked.
“if they’re lucky, they die quickly, but we’ve received reports of what are being called weresquigs. Subjects that devolve into humanoid squigs. Others become various types of fungus in a slow but believed to be very painful process. All and all not pretty. We’ve sent the helljumpers to liberate the locations the women are being held at when we find them. That’s actually where Haruto is right now.”
Haruto surveyed the processing facility with his binoculars. This was the last camp she could be in, the last place they could be keeping her. if she wasn’t here she was already dead. He promised her father he would save her, just like she had saved him so many long years ago. “don’t worry Motoko I’m coming!”

EDIT: @ Comrade: thanks I'm working on giving them all backpacks, because if the regular boyz have a piece of gear, than the nobz should have the same gear plus more.
alright I've actually got a lot of stuff I've done recently and some stuff I found:
god I love being able to have access to my full bitz box, turns out there was a fully assembled stompa in there from when the kit first came out:
this is not the finale stompa by the way, that will be a kustom stompa (although now I'm considering making an entire stompa mob with Orka's personal stompa being the finale, just because I've wanted to make a stompa SO bad, but I've felt like it was off limits)
also I've got some grots to man the guns:
these are just some regular grots with headbands in most cases (what? operating big guns can get sweaty, and sometimes you need a headband to soak it up)
also with the snow outside my window winter is officially here: time to get out the incendiary defrosters:
the fluff for these guys is that they are the defrosting crew for the underground port in mt. jirya. with winter coming they will be needed to keep the port clear and supplies coming in. I've honestly had these guys held back for the first snow of the season just so I could make a Game of Thrones "winter is coming" joke. but that plan didn't play out.
anyways with Christmas a few days away I'm expecting some reinforcements coming, just in time for the winter offensive.

I like both of those ideas, and I'll try them out on the stompa I think I'm getting for Christmas before I try it out on the one I have built (I know my mom was there two days ago, and when I went there yesterday the stompa they had two days before that was gone, along with most of the ork stuff ) also I've noticed that all the women in the fluff so far have been represented as big meks on the tabletop, for some this makes sense: Hikari was a tech priest and so was Hera, Sakura is the daughter of a magos, lilith, well I don't have an explanation for her. anyways what I'm getting at is that I need to switch it up a bit: the airborne list is going to use the dread mob rules, with Haruto as the big mek and that woman he's currently rescuing Motoko is going to be a pain boss (her father was a doctor, and he taught her some medical knowledge) and for those of you that want me to include a miko, well she is one.
the story is that when Haruto was a teenager he went through a rebelious phase where he wanted to be a wandering swordsman. anyways he got messed up in a duel and she nursed him back to health before his mother's family took him back to the imperial palace, because he had run away from home. when he became an ork during the invasion he spent some time as the "guardian spirit" for her shrine, never revealing who he was. now she's been captured and used as a lab rat for inquisitor kryptman's plan ( BTW for anyone wondering, this is not that inquisitor Kryptman but his disgrace of a nephew. who really needs to listen to his own mind and not the tarot cards)
I'll post the rest of the rescue fluff sometime today, and tomorrow I'll be working on the Christmas special in which the orks try to convince a diehard imperial guard commander to give his men a break for Christmas using "the Ghosts of Orks past (Trowa as the ork that killed his family) present (Orka as himself) and future (Haruto as himself)" to convince him to let his hatred die and let his guard down. BTW this will be achieved by an inception type device, so if you like mind crime with a Christmas theme tune in tomorrow. Automatically Appended Next Post: this is something I was working on last night, but I just finished today: what was once the rear end of a land speeder turned into a war copta by some orky ingenuity:
basically it's part of a land speeder (I wanted to use the land speeder storm, but my FLGS was sold out) with the flatbed and driver from a trukk with a cabin made from sheet styrene. the glyph on the side is from the deff dread kit,and the big shoota is from the battle wagon kit. still need to add the rattler cannons (i figure assault cannons will work) and the GS work needs to be evened out (or maybe I'll leave it messy like someone got a bit crazy with the welding) also I need to find some way to attach this to a skimmer stand, but that shouldn't be hard. seeing as this is going to be a unique model, I figure Haruto and Motoko will ride around in it in the airborne list. that's why I call it "Da Boss Copta"

hey guys, I need to put this on hold for a little bit. this army just isn't fun for me right now. don't worry though, I will come back to this after I do what I call a "pallet cleansing" army, something different to give me a break from the samurai stuff to build up ideas again. this is why I tend to have multiple projects going on at once, when I get tired of one I switch to the other. anyways what I'm thinking is having an IG army based on Napoleon Bonaparte, so watch my sig for a link to it. let me state this again: this is not a cancellation, this is just a break. expect to see more of this in the future.

this is Lilith, when her sythskin fell apart she needed something else to wear, and she found it in an old diving suit she modified with various bitz. also the ork ears I modeled on her may look like cat-girl ears right now, but once it's painted I defy you to tell me you've seen a green eared cat. go on I dare you.

well I undid the changes I did for the IG model, and I've been letting this project slide by the wayside recently. that's my bad, but I've got some stuff to show you:
these pictures show the sum total of every model I've fully built so far for this blog. also after working on so many of the same boyz over and over again I've been building concepts for what I call "regiments of renown" here's what I've got so far:
these are the lawbringers, the MPs of the army, as well as specialists at breaching.
this is the WIP concept for a trench fighter unit, I haven't quite figured out the head yet though.
this is a WIP of a unit I'm calling the "bushwhackers" specialists at fighting in heavy undergrowth.
that's all I've got for now, but I'll try to get some other stuff in today. Automatically Appended Next Post: ok so ideas have been short recently for this blog, but I've been holding some stuff back: anime! so I'm digging into some anime that I've watched for ideas, starting with the next fluff arc: the Prison Break. see if you can guess what it's based on:
Cadmus, we've received a message from an ork claiming to be your son. he's in trouble, and he needs our help. here's a vox message we received from him:
this message is for Orka Nobzunaga, I don't have long to talk so I hope you're listening. the imperium is holding me in a prison they call "carnival corpse" that's not the problem. the problem is that I'm being persuted by a human woman who seems to be able to use her blood as a weapon. my guards call her the "wicked egg" and she seems to try and kill anyone who tries to be anything to me. she's already killed the mob that took me in after I came out of my spore pod, and since I've been imprisoned here she's showed up and killed any other prisoners who even try and talk to me. now I hear talk of the Wicked Egg coming after you, and I want you to kill her. springing me from this prison is secondary. I've got to go now, please, when the Wicked Egg comes for you, kill her.
we've verified his story from some vox chatter about this "Wicked Egg". from what we can tell she's a bio-engineered assassin of indeterminate origin. a pic of her has been attached. also this son of yours has told us that many of the prisoners at this "carnival corpse" were not born orks. apparently a rogue trader ship had it's water purifier contaminated with mutagen, turning the entire crew into orks. I think this presents an opportunity, that ship had to have a navigator, and I think that now that that navigator is an ork he or she would be quite willing to help us get off this rock and start chasing our target. I'll leave this to your consideration.

here's my latest work: Trowa's dread has a KFF now:
it's based off the population cap buildings in Dawn of War 2.
here's the other thing I've been working on: Samurai Ork SWAT:
I looted the idea from Anung Un Rama, so credit for the idea goes to him. also I have some fluff:
Orka sat in his dining room, alone. He sat there sipping a glass of tea, waiting. The earwig in his ear crackled to life: “she’s here.” He heard Hera say. Right on time. He continued to sip he tea while elsewhere in mount jiraya the Wicked Egg fought her way towards him. He sat there for a long while until he heard the sounds of combat from outside the paper doors. He took one final sip of his tea just as the bloody form of the Wicked Egg burst through the paper door. Orka smirked, and with a snap of his fingers two boyz with chemical throwers charged into the room on opposite sides of the assassin. They let loose with their throwers, coating the assassin in a chemical which quickly coagulated blood, her powers over her own blood would be useless if she couldn’t draw any of it. Then another pair of boyz bearing two lassos entered and roped the assassin’s arms, the plan had gone off without a hitch. Orka got up from the table and approached his would be killer.
“you’re not an ordinary assassin, most would try to minimize collateral damage and collateral risk, but you’ve blazed a trail of blood from the main gate all the way here. Why?” he asked her.
“I’m no assassin, I’m a killer. I like killing, and they let me kill as much as I want as long as I kill the right things. I’m an artist of murder.” The constant smile on her face was disconcerting.
“you sound to me like a mad dog, do you know what they do with mad dogs?” he drew his shoota and pointed it dead center on the assassin’s mask. “they put them down!” he fired one shot dead center between where her eyes should be under the mask. She fell to the ground as the mask shattered. Then a whimpering sound came from her.
“she’s gone.” The assassin said in a hushed tone. “she’s finally gone.” Orka leveled his shoota at the woman.
“who’s gone?” he asked her.
“the Wretched Egg, she’s gone, I’m free!” she said. Then she looked up at Orka. “you’re Ganta’s dad? They sent her to kill you. Please you have to save him, he’s scheduled to face the Eliminator in a Carnival Corpse match in two days. You have to rescue him or the Eliminator will kill him!” Orka proceeded to ask the woman about this Carnival Corpse and then sent her down to doc to be examined. Then he sat back down and finished his tea.

you may have seen some of my counts as Tau in another thread in the P&M forum, but it's time for them to come home, but first some introductory fluff:
On the runway of the Mt. Jirya airbase Nitzit made his way out onto the tarmac where his scout plane waited. He had his pressure suit on so he was not affected by the chill at the top of the mountain like the shivering flight crew. Across the airbase Nitzit could see a group of warcoptas making a landing, and the unmistakable form of the White Phantom carrying a woman in his arms. “Oi, what’s wif him?” he asked the grot fuel attendant.
“oh dat’s ‘is girl I bet. Imps were keeping her captive, and da helljumpaz been searching fer her. ‘e’s probably taken ‘er to Doc right now.” Nitzit climbed into his cockpit and flipped on his vox.
“dis is Squig Eye Six reportin’ in. what needs peekin’ at?” he said into his helmet’s vox.
“Squig Eye, this is the Shogun, your target is a containment facility three clicks north of the capitol. Get me info on what their defenses look like.”
“dat’s way behind da lines, how you plan on assaultin’ dat?” ever since the Cristos Day offensive the lines had solidified, everything in the lower islands belonged to the orks, but about fifty miles north of Mt. Jirya was where the lines had remained deadlocked in constant trench warfare, with both sides using air power to penetrate the lines and launch targeted operations.
“that’s none of your concern Squig Eye, just give the facility a couple of flybys. I’ll be watching your camera feed in my office, so don’t screw this up. Now Squig Eye Six, you are cleared for launch, you have the sky.”
“roger dat boss, my sky!” Nitzit activated his thrusters and went screaming off the runway and into the sky. The scout planes flew almost to the edge of the planet’s atmosphere, the imperial sensor arrays would not see him.
A few hours later Orka sat in his office controlling the camera on the bottom of Squig Eye Six’s scout plane. As the plane circled the facility Orka sipped his tea and studied the defenses. They seemed to be built on the idea that orks could only engage effectively at close range, they didn’t know how wrong they were. It was time to activate the dakka boyz.
In a bunker deep under Mt. Jirya a series of cryo tubes activated and began the defrost process of one of the four specialist units that had been specially made as part of the project that created Orka and his family. Within a day the Dakka boyz would be fully defrosted and ready for action. all their gear would be waiting for them when they were thawed out, and they would certainly chomping at the bit to fight after their long sleep.
and here's the actual models:
here's a fire warrior with a pulse rifle, I call them Dakka Boyz with long barreled shootas.
this is a Dakka Boy with a bang gun and git marka, or rules wise either a path finder or fire warrior with a pulse carbine, or a basic pathfinder.
this is a Dakka Boy with a snipa shoota, rules wise he's a pathfinder with a rail rifle.
next up I'm thinking of making some counts as necrons.

alright I've got some counts as necrons to show you:
this is my overlord, and a lord. you may notice that they are inspired by Halo. I tried to give the overlord a crest similar to the hayabusa helmet from the game.
this is a WIP lancetek, he still needs some armor.
also I have some more counts as Tau to show you:
this is a standard broadside, just a modified killa kan.
and this is a WIP version of the squad leader variant.
that's all I have for now, I'll see what I can get done today.

I've got something today that I think any Star Wars fan is going to like:
this is Ganta's mini that I made based on the AT- RT from the Clone Wars series. next up I'm making some counts as lychguard from terminators and boyz, so stay tuned.
one more thing: here's an example of the basic idea for the lychguard, just with different weapons:
