Well, the title sais it all my friends. Recently my store recieved a remodel and a few of the guys found an old mini from a Doom 3 set, which wa made by reaper miniatures. My first thoughts were to make it our store "good luck charm", replacing a dwarf I had painted for the store with something actually game related. Before I painted this sucker, I wanted to know if anyone knew more about the model than my quick search-fu brought up.

Here's a link with a price, which is rediclious if you ask me.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

Reaper DOOM minis sell for stupid-crazy amounts. I've sold them before.

Explain to me this Reaper Doom/Doomland/Doomwhatever. Why do the miniatures go for so much? Is it just because they're OOP? Or is it something related to the coolness of Doom?

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Reaper is known to do these from time to time for certain games as a limited run. IIRC the collectors edition of Civ 4 had a slew of Reaper minis that represented units from different eras.

This.

A neat thing about Reaper is that you can get almost any figure they have ever made (unless they sold the line like their 15mm ranges) from them by finding in their NIC (not-in-catalog) PDF and ordering it. This, combined with Reaper having been around only since the 90's, means there aren't alot of Reaper figs that are truely "Collectible"

The exception is licensed lines for which the license has expired. Doom figs are a great example in that. IIRC, they didn't sell amazingly well when released so there aren't a huge number to go around. As Doom is one of the most iconic classic games, there are quite a few people who would like to own the figs now that they are OOP.
