Smurf - they do not HAVE to start in reserve - you can stick models on the board if you wish

But drop pods have to start in reserve and you can put your entire army in them, that would be a full reserve list. Things can start on the bord but that would almost be pointless for taking the drop pods.

CAN put your entire army in them, not MUST. Very importand distinction.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Nope. They dont have to start swooping. They have the option to start on the board so I belive they must take it.

Pretre: Are repressors assault vehicles? If they are, I'm gonna need emergency pants.
n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.
Pretre: Thanks! I guess my pants are safe and clean after all.

Also, for the Drop Pod list, ICs do not count as a unit that must be in Reserve. So an entire DP army still has an HQ that may be deployed, even if units had to be in their Pods.

Unless the IC is in the pod as well. He does not have to start in the pod (Like the units that bought the Drop Pod), so he can be deployed (Like the units that bought the Drop Pod), but if they do they are not counted against the 50%

You can reserve the FMC since 1/2 rounded up= 1 in reserve

Unless I missed something, FMC's don't have the "MUST start in Reserves requirement."
He's talking about Mycetic Spores.

I got that; there is no option for a Tyranid HQ that comes in a Spore.

There isn't. With all the changes to make FMC more like Flyers I was under the (wrong) impression that FMC were required to start in Reserves like Flyers. After double-checking, I was incorrect in my initial post regarding a full reserve army. I apologise for any confusion I may have caused.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You were right, Happy.

1 FMC + rest of army in spores. You can reserve half of your army. 1 divided by 2 = .5 round up. =1. So you can reserve your FMC and Spores.

No, he had claimed that Nids were the only army that could build a force that must start in reserve, which is incorrect.
