Saga of the Hunter can only be taken by Infantry. Thus you cannot take it if you have a bike, jump pack, or Thunderwolf mount.
Runic armour is power armor. It is stated right in the entry.

If you are jumping on the Dinobot meme bandwagon regarding the new Warhammer 40k Chaos models, grow the feth up! |

I consulted Page 61 of the codex: The first paragraph is fluff and thus not considered. The second paragraph is the rule (2+/5+*).
Perhaps I am missing something.

No but honestly, is it power armour? Armour with a 3+ save? Why does it get it's own entry?

You also can now outflank a Land Raider with all the scariness you want.

Arjac is out. Terminator armored WG cannot join Wolf Scouts. That much is clear.
The runic armored characters can take Saga of the Hunter until the ambiguity is cleared up. That is how I am playing it.

Honestly do you have the codex?
Runic armour isn't power armour the same way artificer armour isn't power armour.
You have become TFG.

I own it but I usually only have access to it on weekends. Based off of various posters disagreeing on how it is applied and the fact, although less persuasive and nonbinding in any way, that Army Builder permits it, I am going to assume there is enough ambiguity to allow it. That is not being a jerk or " TFG." Just cause you disagree doesn't make me or anyone else a poor sportsman/hobbyist.

No but shoehorning in an advantage that flies in the face of RAI and RAW does make you tfg.
2 guys that either didn't read the codex or misread it is not proof.

Dont have my codex here at work, but does Saga of the Hunter specifically disallow a jump pack? If not, wouldn't the recent change of "Jump Infantry" as a type to "Infantry (Jump)" - where jump is a subtype/keyword, mean that SotH could, in fact, be taken by someone with a jump pack?

It doesn't. There is a clause on the entries for those models that can choose it that restricts their options as to when they can take it.

Well skyclaws have their use. I wouldn't put a priest with them as you could get another 7 models for the cost.

I find this post laughable considering you wanting to use Saga of the Hunter to outflank units of WGTDA.

Yes RAW and RAI you can have a model with power armour take hunter and lead any unit, say logan, 10 TDA WG and njal, if you want.
That means about 1100 points off the board until turn 3 or 4 on average. You pay the points and have the options.
You can't have runic armour though.
Building a legal powerful list is grand, building one that isn't legal isn't cool.

Turn 2 or 3 actually, given the new reserves rules. Auto on turn four if you are unable to roll a 3 or higher on turn 2 or 3. And yes, it is a tactic that would ( IMO) make a player TFG..................

It is a normal tactics. It doesn't make the person TFG. It is a very bad tactic when you spend more than 300 points off the board. There is only so much 6" would cover. 2 demolisher cannon shots and that outflanking squad is gone. Plus, if I know you are putting them in reserve, I will have the objective right in the middle of the field. Walking takes lots of time.

Keep in mind that objectives are before deployment. This kind of head fake can make an opponent put it in the middle of the board and then you only outflank the scouts.

The problem with the Drop Pod is you can take out 2 vehicles or part units with your MM's, it is only 5 shots after all. And you can only take out one unit with PE Plasma. Your opponent could be clever and avoid this and then suddenly you have the rest of their army in your face next turn. Even with Logan an expensive squad of power armour vs most of an army will die.

Here was me thinking abusing the rules by taking a spin on them that wasn't in the spirit nor how the majority of people read them to game an advantage was TFG.
So all those leaf-blower lists, the green tides, the draigo wings and all the other tough armies are just tfg cos they are difficult to deal with. Gotcha.

Is that a bad thing? Whats the alternative? March up the middle of the table with bolt pistols?
