Yes they may. The weapons will have to fire themselves.

how would the weapons fire themselves? it says on page 105 under gun emplacements that the model has to be in base contact.

I believe that is a round about way of saying, nids can't shoot the weapons. So you get a breakable cover save?

Page 2, first question the FAQ has:
Q: Are Tyranid units inside buildings (i.e. the Bastion) subject to
instinctive behaviour tests? Furthermore, are they able to manual fire
emplaced weapons or weapon emplacements?
A: No to both questions.

Yes Nids can take all of them. We just can't fire the guns manually. That means that the Quad gun and ILC have no use (so don't buy them). The Weapon Emplacements can still autofire at BS2; so you can still use the HB, Fragstorm system and TL ILC (they just fire at the nearest target).

You have no requirment to convert them. In the case of Nids it is assumed that they are enemy fortifications that have been overun.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

So far 6th has still been a big benifit to Nids. Having No Retreat wound removed is worth more than any stupid bunker.

Don't see why you can't just take the Aegis Defence lines and hide your Warriors or something behind them.

And wait for their snacks to come to them?

Still, 50 points for a big chunk of cover is cheap for any army.

Becasue for a few points more Nids can get movable cover save that walks up the field with them and can cover a lot more units. It also gives cover saves to MCs.

But if you have a bunch of ranged units like that weird one with a cannon on its back then I wouldn't send it through the open, movable cover save or not. Anyway it would look cool.

The biovore? No real reason to not move it up. That spore cannon is an assault weapon so you can move and fire. It also has a decent BS so you can adjust where you scatter if it can draw LOS. They are also suprisingly good at CC. (Not as good as Hive Guard, but still pretty decent for an artillary unit).

and that extra unit is worth another Kill Point.

The ADL is not worth a Kill Point.

That only matters in 1 out of 6 missions. Also Nids bleed VPs in that mission anyway (thanks Tervigons).

Also ADLs can't kill wraithguard.

True, but a 4+ cover save is hardly a drawback (2+ if you go to ground behind it) Which is great for hunkering down on an objective.

Only problem is Fearless units can't go to ground. But I think we are starting to go to far into tactics.

So do not have them in Synapse range.

Which is all well and good, but Nids outside of Synapse that fail IB can't claim objectives. Also, the ADL isn't area terrain, and I believe IB for lurkers requires they head for area terrain?
