I'm still holding off picking any minis up yet until I've had a chance to read the rulebook (I don't do kick starters), but these have to be the best miniatures on the market at the moment. The only ones I can think of that are close are Kingdom of Death and Arena Rex but I don't think they will have the depth of this game.

If the rules end up as good as the miniatures I don't think I'll need to touch any other manufactures miniatures again, looks at GW minis on painting table and crosses fingers.

I'm buying minis that I love, using the musters to at least ensure I can do something with them ultimately, of it turns out the game sucks or I can't find an opponent, I won't worry.

You're really losing out on some savings by not doing KS though dude, I think this could be considered about as risk free as anything by now (3 projects in, fulfilment of previous well on schedule etc..)

Yurp. It's the expressive and characterful faces that often put Mierce stuff a cut above, and this guy turns that up to 11. Incredible. Plus, he gets bonus points for totally unambiguous scale pics.

Maaaaan, I wish I could afford to go in at Gold. I'll just have to wait for general release and become a Breatharian so I have enough cash to get all the ones I want.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Yeah I know, I'm confident they can deliver just don't have the funds for a gold pledge in my gaming budget. The bronze saving isn't worth worrying about as its not much cheaper than retail.

I'm just hoping they don't do a really cool gold level only exclusive, I think most of them are head swaps from what I can see not sure about Forwyn Carys although I'm not really into the moustache dudes.

I believe Sathach will be available for retail after the KS, if some could confirm that would be great.

If I had the money I'd be in for five factions

I also like leofwen, fane-bearer of déra on great hart but not sure where she fits in as there is no Déra section under Angelcynn on their website.

I'm pretty sure Sathach is exclusive, but pledging now won't get you Sathach free since it's past the deadline. You can still buy her with a Bronze pledge I think.

leofwen, fane-bearer of déra on great hart is under the "THEGN" entry.

Check here for the current rules bud: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mierceminiatures/darklands-a-world-of-war/posts/814854

Although these are quickstarter rules, we've been told that these are the basic mechanics with the full Rulebook expanding upon them.

@GiraffeX

Each faction has subfactions, similar to some of the GW armies. The way I understand it is that each army has access to all the units in the army, but choosing a Warlord alters your "main" units.

For instance, Angelcynn look like they are going to have 4 subfactions; Mierce (wolves), Eoforas (boars), Beornica (bears), and Dera (deer). Taking a Warlord of Mierce makes some wolf units more common, and I assume in the future that will be true of the Warlords and units from the other Angelcynn regions. But, taking a Warlord from Beornica means you can still take the standard common units.

So, you could take Leofwen (who is not even a Warlord, but a banner bearer) and still take all the Angelcynn you want. You could even take a Mierce Warlord and have wolf units be common and still have Leofwen in the muster.

Hrókr is in!

Well, almost in!

Hrókr is announced!

Update #41

Apr 18 2014
£115,000 - Hrókr, Gunnhrafn
1 comment

With £102,500 reached, Forwyn Carys is unlocked - and thus we have a new stretch goal for you all to aim for!

Hrókr is a Gunnhrafn, a war-raven, and stands on an 80mm base. He is 60mm to the eye, a Wild Monstrous Beast and can be taken in units of 1-3. His Ubiquity is Rare. It should be noted that Gunnhrafnar are bigger than the Hrafnmenn but smaller than the Valhrafnar, so they fulfil a nice niche in your Norse fliers!

Hrókr is pronounced "HROK-ər" and Gunnhrafn is pronounced "GUNN-hrav-ən".

And if you swap out that sword with a sweet old school mic and stand, he can be the lead singer in the Mierce Darklands Band!

Rockin' Hrókr!

Get Uhtred on Horse for FREE if you spend £400+!

In this project, right from the very start you could get the amazing Uhtred on Horseback (due to be sculpted by Patrick Masson) for free simply by choosing the "ALL THE INITIAL UNITS" or "YOU'RE THEIR DESCENDANT" rewards; but we thought it a little inconsistent not to offer him for free to anybody who increased their pledge to £400 or more.

So now we're going to do just that - give you Uhtred on Horseback for free, if you pledge £400 or more via any reward!

What are you waiting for? Get pledging, there's only four days to go![.quote]

Right, I've got my tricky £100 that's going to bounce for three days pledged. I'm probably going to up my pledge after for at least the Albainn,Formor, Brythonaid and Khthones starter sets. I'm going to add some dragon thing to my Brythonaid, maybe something for the Albainn, the Sloth / Walrus men for Formor and pick up whatever Boars or Bears come out for the Angelcynn as I have an infantry starter from KS1 I've not added to.

That just leaves my Ysian infantry starter to expand, and I'm not a fan of their monsters. Decisions, decisions :-P

As far to the east you can get without being in Canada.

One more plea for someone who is interested in joining up to take the Ysian and Norse parts of the "all the units" pledge.

PM me for more info if you are interested. Thanks.

With the intent of getting forces for future demo games, i was thinking of going Fomoraic and Brythonaid. But those Hydrar just look so beautiful.....

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

New poll up on the Mierce forums to determine the next unit unlock at $120,000.00!

All look awesome to me. Albainn are lacking human sized infantry though so I may go that way.
If anyone that isn't on a phone wants to copy the concepts in here that would be great!

The Dynwocor are pretty unique looking.

The Drunes have a cool style, but we've got enough Ysians at this point.

My personal pick... hell, you guys all probably know so it's probably not worth repeating ad infinitum.

If anyone is doing a split of the all the units pledge and does not have Angelcynn spoken for I would be willing to chip in for them. I only really need to bolster my Angelcynn collection from them. If not I will just keep my gold level pledge.

the hairy chicken dragons have grown on me significantly.

Do they have hair? The dynwocor? Is that hair or feathers on them?

The second to last one on the right looks like a baby bird with the way his head is raised. I think he's my favorite sculpt fo the lot.
