First look at Monstrous Infantry unit deals

This is unfinished and has some errors in (which is why I'm not posting the image, I'll wait till Rob fixes it)

for example the Brythonaid unit gets a project exclusive warrior Ffion not Parawan

Oh dear... That might hurt the wallet a bit. I'd lamented not getting any of the Tarvax the first time around....

I agree with Alpharius about the horsie and rider being a bit too specific with that new krok.

Give it a good rock to pose on. Litter the area with bones and I think it'd be perfect.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

That would work better for me too!

As it is an 'alternate' I suppose I can just skip it - but...but...it is a giant Crocodile-man!!!

I don't think it's actually an alternate though.

Considering the size it would have to be, that looks to me like a totally new figure.

Plus even if they somehow used Kadamastar as a base, the way the body is rising up would demand a total resculpt.

I'm okay with a new krok though!

I aint going anywhere near that spider, cant stand them and that's the last thing I'm going to see before I go to sleep....

Big Croc is very cool like the dude in his mouth but would prefer him on a rock to the poor horse though.

I was thinking earlier about the potential Dark Lands has when you consider what a small part of the world they've covered so far. There's so much potential they could be bringing out miniatures for many years to come. Looking forward to some nice Vampire minis and Egyptian based ones down the line.

Thanks, just saw that the Thain will be 50-60mm to the eye. So I guess those aren't human skulls!

Or just give the horse a bionic eye and you're covered.

Lol

I think they are. They'll just be taller than the average human and their cloak will give them a large presence

I will say I want to know if the project exclusives are going to be available individually?

I ordered most of these starters on the last kickstarter so dont needs the whole infantry set but some of the new models Im interested in.

So if you back can you still pick up the new individual models or must you buy the whole group?

Nope, you can buy them separately. They're listed on the various stretch goals images as £15 each or you can buy a set of 8 if you wanted.

That Atalantean Monstrous Host?

Sealed the deal for me there!

All the Erainn pics leave me cold. Likewise all the Albainn. Lucky, I guess, since I already have 4 kindreds and am v tempted by Jutes too!

I like the Erainn host individually,

but as a set biggest tree, big tree and tree unit all look too similar (and 2 arm/2 leg/head-torso anthropomorphic). I

I'd have liked to see either something completely different for at least one or a variation in limb number/position to show they aren't just 'man in a rubber suit'

but hey, since I like the first 8 kindreds and the Jutes I suppose there has to be one sort of miss amongst the set

Any word on who will be sculpting the new monstrous kindreds? I've watched Darklands since the very first KS and that monstrous Atlantes has finally finalized my pledge.

I'm now a lot more interested in this KS as I've not fancied any of the bundles as I have already brought all of the multi man units I want. Probably going to leave it till the end as I need to see what FW costs me at Warhammerfest first.

Atlantes - Hector Moran, infantry; Roberto "speedy" Chaudon the bull
Eirann - Valentin Zak, infantry; Allan "can I haz your babies" Carassco the Bog Creature
Jutes - melon-fething Aragorn Marks

Valentin Zak sculpt:

Ah, that explains it- I wasn't sure what was nagging at me about them, but that's just it.

I do like them individually, but you're right, as a group I'd like to see more variety.

One could have gone the Ents route and modelled them after different species of tree (although that might have been hard to do and not look like you were ripping that off.)

I agree though, the Eirainn were the faction I was most interested in on paper before the launch, and are now the least. Still like the concept though (and would make a nice second faction to my Fomoraic) so hopefully as the range expands there'll be more that gets my nerd bone stimulated.

Now this is more like what I want my tree monsters to look like

from the sound of it this may well be a reworking of the existing banelegions Oácyning

I think the extra branches make it a much stronger concept
