So, yes, another Kickstarter. Paymaster Games is creating a tabletop game based on the historical civilizations of Native American tribes and their mythologies. It seems there will be a limited role for magic and mysticism in this combat game. The rules and book are written, and art and sculpts are in process. They are raising funds to finish artwork for the book and the sculpts for the first starter boxes.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2139148164/going-native-warpath
First art to scuplt from their (very limited) website:
Aztec General
Aztec General:
The artwork and sculpts that are available are quality, and come from established artists.
Ian Mountain: http://www.mountainminiatures.co.uk/
Bob Naismith: http://www.bobnaismith.com/
Leandro Ventic: http://www.blackarmyproductions.com/index.php?option=com_redshop&view=category&cid=15&manufacturer_id=0&layout=detail&Itemid=207
And, to be honest, the starter box seems like an INCREDIBLE deal. $50 kickstarter gets you a rulebook, boxset and limited edition character. The box set alone is 12 troopers, a war chief, and officer, and a spirit beast; 15 minis in metal.

Looks interesting
But I'll need to see at least art or sculpts (for the other factions) before backing
so watching for now
(also wonder if we'll get any 'outrage' over this....depicting minority religeons in gaming terms......)

I was interested until i saw the delivery date of Aug 2013. Thats a lot of risk for us the comsumer to take on something we have to wait ten months on. Especially being from a small unknown company.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I completely understand where you are coming from. My first plan was to have it come out this spring but that with the time it takes to sculpt the models and the time it takes for international shipping it would have been very difficult to have the models in hand sooner then that. You also have to account for packaging, casting, and other shipping times.
I felt that shooting for a Gencon release was realistic for all of the models that you guys funded. I would have loved to have a four to six month turn around, but their may have been unforseen delays.
Now as to Risk, i should let you know that I have already delivered on one Kickstarter campaign, with out shortages or delays. If you are concerned please check out the Mayan Number Dice campaign.
We have also teamed up with Game Salute to help bring Going Native: Warpath up to the quality you would expect from a good war game.

Alot of people do not, and the is one of the reasons i am making this game. People know more about the cultures and history of humans in the year 40,000 then they do of the native cultures of the world. One of my goals with this game is get people involved in the Fluff of Going Native, like they are in 40K or Iron Kingdoms, and they might just learn something they did not know about the cultures they may have only learned about in school.

I think those figures look pretty cool.
They could do some double duty with a few other games I have going on. Maybe even add in a couple of Dire wolves, and a couple of fur traders.
Helldorado, and that other spanish game come to mind.
You going to get in on some conquistatore's? How about Maui's? You going to get in on them as well?
Really like the look of some of those guys, and the angle is really fresh! Great job there!!!
Tip to the Game designer- dig a little deeper into the Mayan/ Aztecas.... You might REALLY like what you find. ( Theres a real cool reason that they tore out there hearts.... )
Any Commanche's, or Dog Soldiers, or Mohawks, or..... Anasazi? ( heck you could even run with some alien/ pred action in here....)
With that being said- they have a really good selection of monsters that hasn't even been touched yet.
Like the look, and have an extra hundred....

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

As of right now i am not planning to add in any whites at this time.
Like i said on the Campaign page, i devided up the native world in to 5 regions and the 5 War Parties I am trying to get funding for are the ones that are going to be in the core rule book.
Now once you move beyond the core rule book, we will make souce books for each region allong with the spirit beasts. Here is a break down of what we have planned for down the road and not now -
North - Pacific Northwest Tribes, Aluet, Inuit/Eskimo, Cree Nation, Northern Tribes
East - Woodland Tribes (Iroquois, Mohawk, Huron), Southern Woodland Tribes (Charokee), Mound Builder, Plains Tribes, Arawak, Carib
NOTE: Dog Soldiers are a Plains Tribe Warrior order and did not become their own band until the American Indian Wars in the 1800s.
Mesoamerica - Aztec Triple Alliance, Mayan City States, Tlaxcalan Confederacy, Tarascan Kingdom, Zapotec/Mixtec, Pueblo Cities, Chichimec/Apachean
NOTE: The Commanche did not exist prior to the introduction of the Horse to the America's, they were a part of other tribes in pre-columbian times.
South - Inca Empire, Tupi, Amazonian Tribes, Mapuche
Pacific - Hawaiian Koa, Maori Taua, Tongan Empire (includes Somoa and Fiji), Polynesian (Rapa Nui, Marquesan, Tahiti), Melanesian, Micronesia (Kiribati mostly)
I have dug pretty deep in to all of the native cultures, I have contacted a Archeologists, done my research and did all the nessissary leg work to make this game awsome.

If you don't want to clutter the main page, you could add additional concept art and sculpts through updates, like other miniature Kickstarters did.

Decluttering via updates is a good idea. Also, what you can do is just have a smaller image of the best looking guy from a faction on the main page and then have a "click here for more info" kind of link, pointing to the update that has all of the info on that one faction. So people can go there to read more, while still being on your Kickstarter page, instead of sending them to an external site and potentially losing their place and not finding the way back easily.
You can always update the update if you unlock more characters or have more things to add, and people can reply and chat about that one faction all in one place.

You might want to go more vertical if you are using Kickstarter updates for more info pages. They will auto-shrink your images to 640 pixels wide for the web, and I think 500 wide for emails. Or you could do a "click here to enlarge" kind of thing, and link it to the full size pic

I already have. They are culturely similar to the other plains tribes. Their military weapons, Tactics and military structure is also similar to the other plains tribes, so it would stand to reason that they can in Plains Tribes War Party list.
