Brother Dimetrius over at Warseer got this from a GW (Belgium) facebook feed:

"On the afternoon of Friday 19th October we will be releasing a variety of direct only bundles for Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and The Lord of The Rings. These bundles offer our customers fantastic value and are a great opportunity for them to add to their miniatures collections."

Sounds a bit weird ... for October. But we will see tomorrow.

I wonder if this will be like the troop/ded transport thing they did last year or something different?

Hoping this is kinda like the apoc deals they had
3 Fex's for £50? ill take 9.

In any case, could be a nice bit of promotion that they need.

Well, when I worked at the local GW store before it closed, we always got our Mega Paint Sets in stock right around Hallowe'en.
Rest of the BIG! Xmas bundles like the boxes armies followed within a few weeks of that happening.

Maybe this year those things like the 'uber paint set & army bundles will be Direct Only, saving shelf space and such for the rest of the Xmas stuff, (army cases/monster figure case, new terrain, etc...) and the forthcoming Hobbit stuffs?

That was back in 07, they'll probably charge the same price for all the items as they would be separate like the Chaos Bundle.

I'm assuming they'll be cheaper, unlike the Chaos bundle. Probably not Apocalypse "we're clearing out all our stock" cheap, but cheaper.

"fantastic value" usually means you save $30 or so buying the bundle then the individual components, even though you'd probably not want every model in the bundle anyway....

Having seen the raised prices on the battleforces, it will probably end up being around £10-£20 pounds at most.

£10-£20 is $16 to $32 dollars.

"Fantastic value" = normal price, because minis at THAT quality are a bargain at any price!

Pfft, if they are direct only from GW it will be cheaper to just buy the models separately from any discount seller. If GW allows any retailer to sell them it could be something worth looking at, if they dont it's a waste of time.

An example would be those limited edition "super" figures that you need to have two kits to make, which happen to require two kits and are priced at exactly two kits pricing, but are bundled only for a limited time or else you have to buy two SEPARATE kits at the same price.

I can only agree with this, even with a discount on there's no way it'll be cheaper than getting the models individually when a large amount of webstores are routinely on 20-25% off of RRP.

If some of the boxes come with a unique sculpt or something though then I may be unable to resist.

The best one was the Captain Sicarius Strike Force thingy. It had tons of Drop Pods, Tac Squads, Terminators, Dreads and Assault Marines. A massive army. The cost? Exactly the same as buying it normally.

The troop and transport bundles they did recently worked out a good bit cheaper. Be interested to see what new bundle's they have come up with.

I seem to recall at least one or two bundles over the years that actually worked out slightly more expensive than their individual components...

I'm guessing the fantastic value is that it will all be on one big box instead of several smaller boxes.

Actually it was worse, because it only came with 1 base of each flavor (one square, one round). So if you decided you actually wanted to make two regular chariots, you had to get another base.
