So my friends are starting a fantasy campaign that's going to spam the next couple months here. You get to choose a warlord hero character for free to start off with. You can upgrade him with any mundane gear but no magical items. Once the campaign hits 1500 pts they morph into their corresponding lord choice. You get 300 gold to start gold being points that can only be used for heroes. So I get one for free and ill probably buy one more. I'm thinking bruiser for my general and his second in command will be a firebelly. The thing that's dtunping me is I've got 500 points to spend on core/special/rare and I'm not sure what to take... I was thinking 9 ogres and three Mournfangs but I'm just not sure... Oh and because ethos is campaign we have to keep the same guys from game to game building on what we have...

So what would you guys take for 500 point of core/special/rare barring magic upgrades and staying under their corresponding % limit

SPAM. SPAM YOU MONTHS! Sorry.

I would take a Butcher. He'd be more fun and you get buffs and becomes a Slaughtermaster. I wouldn't take 3 Mournfang cuz it would be cheesy and people will spit on you.

No magic seems like it would really favor any VC you got. If they go ethereal you're kinda hosed.

Spam?

I want a bruiser because it would be fluffy. This is not a Waac tournament just a fun environment for friends together and play. We had a talk with our vc player about such things so we should be good on that front. As far as no magic items go that is only to start they can be found throughout the game.

Just a simple typo. Though it did make the first sentence read kinda funny.

He's commenting on what I assume is a misspelling of 'span' in your OP

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Damn auto correct... That is kind of funny though. Sadly my hard drive crashed so I have to type this out on my phone.

How about 9 ogres with full command and 4 leadbelchers with musician?

Just out of curiosity...

1 free hero? Doesn't that favor the more expensive lords and handicap anyone with a cheap heros in their army book?

Looks like a "free" hero with a 300 point limit.

I did somethign similar with 40K.

They are right about it favoring ethreal VC's though. Thats the list I always run anyway

Even in a 2k Game, if you have the right ally things can become.....

Nasty...............

Pretre: Are repressors assault vehicles? If they are, I'm gonna need emergency pants.
n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.
Pretre: Thanks! I guess my pants are safe and clean after all.
