I have a bug out bag, and a bit of a plan, but it needs reworking as I would have to take care of my parents, who are both over 60 and in frail health (they're not the healthiest people). I would probably change for defense rather than escape or attack.

I just recently picked up a rifle, but I would like a small caliber carbine and a .22 pistol, which I've been practicing with at least once a week for the past few months. (my former house mate had one, and would let me use it as long as I cleaned it and bought ammo for it

IIRC, there's Zombie Apoc survival courses funded by the government. The idea behind it is if you are prepared for zombies, you're prepared for most anything else and more people would rather prepare for zombies than a Hurricane.

It mostly goes over the basics, Food, Water, other supplies.

That's pretty much my plan, food, water, shelter, other supplies, ammo for walkers/other looting parties. Same plan for Hurricanes and other disasters.

I'm in England. If zombies existed, they wouldn't come here because it's just not the kind of place where you find zombies. They'd just get bored, so they'd all stay over in America instead.

If I was as prepared for a zombie apocalypse as I am for a trip to Hogwarts, I'd be the safest place to be when it all goes down.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

The Frazzled plan has two options:
1. Join up with the posse. You turkeys are worried about the Zombie Apocalypse. In Texas its the great Zombie Roundup. We'll clear em out tout sweet.

2. If thats a no go then Go Time. And by Go time it means the Frazzleds form a band of raiders and loot the surrounding neighborhoods. Yee HAAA!!!!

Not really prepared in the slightest. I have a vague idea of legging it to RAF Brize Norton, it's only 6 miles away from where I live, and because it's a proper RAF base they have guns and large stockpiles of stuff. Not too mention a 12 ft razor wire topped chain linked fence and armed guards on duty 24/7...... If that's not possible then it's a case of hiding in my attic until its safe to come out!

Probably work

What is this fascination with zombies as of late? It's impractical, improbable, and not going to happen. Frankly, you have a bigger chance of some kind of My Little Pony apocalypse than you do a zombie apocalypse. I mean, don't get me wrong, we're all just a major disaster away from eating each other like savages anyway, so it will be _like_ zombies, but just no.

Seems like we just had this thread last month.

I have a hurricane kit that will last me about a month if I'm cautious and panels that will cover my windows and ~60% of my front and back doors, which would make leveraging them open difficult. By then, most people will be taken or dead. Not sure after that.

I suppose it really depends on how you define prepared.
Sure I have guns, ammo, know how to fish and hunt and what have you and having experianced Katrina up close and personal have developed a sort of parinoid version of the Boy Scout Motto to live by...but...
I'm accutely aware that ( in a hypothetical zombie appoc) there are many people that I care about ( even love) that wouldn't be able to hack it...and I wonder how mentaly prepared anyone can ever be to accept that..
I mean you may be able to " survive", but it's a good bet that Grandma or your little cousins or that nice obese fellow down at the FLGS that you enjoy BSing with will more than likely end up as zombie chow.

BTW, here is a little article for all those non believers out there!

I don't really bother with the idea of a zombie apocalypse because a zombie apocalypse is scientifically impossible. Especially with actual reanimated dead

That cracked article is flawed because it relies on anecdotal evidence or scientific trials that are massive exaggerations of what they actually did.

After being somewhat forced to watch cockneys vs zombies, I no longer fear the zombie apocalypse. If a guy with a walker can get away from them, they'll be more or less a minor annoyance.

Well, there's that too...hell if given the choice between having to deal with an irate and often highly emotional customer pitching a fit over some minor fixable detail or facing a horde of flesh hungry dead...I'll pick the zombies every time.
