I have the Imperial buildings and find that the panels available limit how different you can make your buildings look. With that in mind I set about designing an addon for the set. It is the same size and should fit perfectly. What I want to know is what kind of interest there is for more of these? I will be doing more for my own use but the question is 'how many other people would buy them?'

I have an unassembled Imperial sector and being able to both expand the number of buildings I could make and being able to vary their appearance would be appealing. As long as the quality is sufficient.

I'm in talks with a local printer to get samples, I will update everyone when I see them.

As for variation, what would you like to see done? I currently have the window show above and a small door on the work bench. Planning on doing damaged versions of each and a double door.

A panel of a normal wall section with a hole blasted in it big enough to draw LoS would be nice.

I think I can come up with something.

GW made a far more generic CoD sprue for their initial CoD prototypes. You can see a few examples of it in some of their earliest CoD-style buildings, and still see the odd piece here and there.

Something like that would be quite good.

Hate to see what kind of a fethhead looked at that sprue and said "Yup, scrap that one, not gonna sell as well as the grimdark ones.."

edit.

Which bits would you like to see from that sprue? I'm working on walls first, then floors then other bits.

No skulls on anything I'm doing, GW do enough of that.

Really the important things are more windows and solid un-ruined panels. I can’t tell you how many ruined sections I have left over because I tend to make complete buildings.

I mean just look at that prototype sprue and see how many complete panels there are – 15 (16 if you count the big one as two). Most CoD sprues have, at best, 4 or 5.

Floor sections are also very important. I’ve turned creating large floor sections into something of an art, but I’d much rather have longer and wider floor sections that didn’t have to be constructed from groups of 3 undamaged panels. That said, the one great thing about the CoD floor sections is how the groves between each section fit the struts/beams perfectly, which really helps strengthen them.

I don't mind the damaged panels, the thing that does annoy me though is that they are all damaged at the top and not the bottom.

Keep your suggestions coming they will all help.

Nothing wrong with damaged panels, but it just makes the CoD kits non-conducive to creating undamaged buildings unless you want to have heaps of left-over damaged panels.

What you describe though in the way they are only damaged across the top, yes, that is a limiting factor. Some variety would be nice.

Melta/bioacid damage wall would be quality, could see using a lot of those. Also, generic bulkhead walls a la Necromunda classic terrain?

I'd be interested. No new suggestions other than complete, undamaged panels.

I should be putting some more designs up later, will work on some plain panels and see what you all think.

Plain wall, going to see about adding a blast hole to it for the next one.

Great idea – and I'd echo the request for more undamaged ones. Damage is much, much easier to add than remove; and while details like bullet holes, marks and chipping add detail, they also make repeats look odd.

I'd be keen to see additional buttresses (there are loads of great design on the sprue HBMC posted); these add a lot to the dimensionality of finished buildings and provide lots of interesting cover when fighting up streets.

I much prefer those to what finally emerged.

Buttress, not sure I like it though.

If you'd like to see extra details added to these let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This. Hacking up complete panels to make damaged ones isn't hard... Just making complete panels keeps the kit far more versatile.

Well this certainly looks interesting, I'm also sick to death of having spare 'damaged' walls and floors left over from making intact buildings.

So THAT'S where that kit is from! I have always spotted it in GW articles but never knew where the stuff was from!

Also very interested in this mate, throw lotsa details on those pieces and get yourself a decent manufacturer then you should be good to go!

The idea is to keep them as plain as possible so that people can add their own details. Its easier to add than to take away as they say. Having said that if people have an idea for something they think should be on them let me know.

I'm also thinking of doing some prison cell panels, even in the 41st millennium people must get arrested.

Plain and intact is good. Some non gothic stuff would be cool too, i find it hard to imagine there isn't a present Earth type world or a Nar Shadaa/Corellia neon light future style in the 41st millennium.

Yeah I know what you mean about modern, I'm going to do some roller shutter doors I think. Anything else in mind?

Building front with roller shutter door, I figured it would make a good tank factory.

Wow these will be great. I love making new buildings and what you have listed already looks fantastic. The mind races with possibilities and I really like the grate and the roller door. If this stuff is priced reasonably then I will be buying a lot of your products. I could see myself purchasing at least a couple of everything you have listed so far and in many cases a lot more.

Well done and thanks for filling a gap in the market

I'm glad you like them Necro, I do have more ideas in mind too. I'm going to be doing a church front the same size as the roller shutter front as well as some double doors. I also want to do something with a heating vent. If you have anything you'd like to see let me know and I'll see.

A good set of stair is always hard to find. I also second that the pieces should be whole and not damaged as I can do that myself and adds a range of options for me to customise.

Please send me a PM when you are up and running and ready to start selling. I really wants these
