Frozen wastes of Finland

Hi,

Now that my urge to paint bikes (read: "The Ravenwing") has ended its time to post something else.
This time its TAU. I managed to get my hands on a TAU battleforce so here we go.

Running Kroots. Those walking Kroots just wasn't the Kroots i had in my mind so i converted
these on running poses. Much better and the actual conversion was really simple.

Well this fellow has stopped for taking better aim to his target.

And there is Shaper ofcourse. He is in no rush. There is plenty Imperial Fist meat to taste. Yum yum

A gave them all white warpaint just to give some contrast to their jade skin.

There was also one Crisis Battle Suit on the box. He got Twin-Plasmas and shield.
Being really practial and all this suit has a Camopaint on it. I tried to mimic Finish Army Camo pattern.
There is also plenty light effects on the suit.

First Fire Warrior (Sergeant). Just to test the camo on his armor, Works for me...

And then i managed to finish 2 Stealth suits and their Marker Drone.
I went for that stealthfield affect that many use on their Stealtsuits. Its bit boring but i wanted to try it out myself.
Im going to use same effect on Devilfish too to mark that Disruption Pod upgrade.

well thats all for now.

Stealth Team completed.

and I also finished the Devilfish. It obviously has Disruption Pod upgrade on it.
Too bad it´s still trying to mimic desert surroundings rather than jungle. Oh well...

Next Firewarriors!

The cloaking effect on the Devilfish is really striking. Nice work!

Yeah the cloaking looks great. It might be me, but the crisis suit looks a little sloppy. Especially the white. Maybe it's just the weathered camo? Doesn't matter, keep up the great work!

I'm gonna be an donkey-cave and side with 6. The camo just doesn't reeeeaaaallly come out all that well. Maybe it's my inner perfectionist screaming at me but it doesn't exactly work out. Heck I don't even really like seeing camo in 40k period! I still love that cloaking though!

Thank you for your comments.

This lack of camo patterns in 40K has always puzzled me. How can you expect to survive in any theater of war with your bright
red/blue/yellow armor when snipers can spot you from miles away. Anyways I have always seen TAU as an alien version of IG.
Being kind of weak physically they really have to trust in the other means to survive. Enter the camo pattern.

I personally like the camo patterns; it fits with the terrain and shows the more logical side of the Tau.

Great job so far!

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

You my friend must meet the reasonable marines! Best friends with the tau! Damn near enemies of the angry marines!

I really agree with you on that point. IMO Tau and IG are armies that should always be painted in the camo colours of some world, as everything else for them woulden't make sense. (Except Mordians, you have to have something grimdark).

2500pts Da Blitza Boyz! (Orks) 70% painted.
