I know this question has been asked, and undoubtedly will be asked many more times while games workshop continues their scandalous price raises. But where is a good place to buy discount 40k? I don't mean some flaky short term solution like ebay or craigslist. I mean something solid, with a (preferably) 20% discount or something. I have done some research but everything seems to be either british (which is fine as long as shipping doesn't cancel out the benefit) or a fraud. One that looked really appealing was Warhammer Direct ( http://www.warhammerdirect.com/) which sadly, after some research, turned out to be a fraud. If you guys know of any websites or stores that ship that have good prices let me know. Also I think this is the right forum, but feel free to let me know to move it.

Discount Game Store is great for Aussies and Canucks. They have a bricks and mortar store, ebay store, Web store and take orders through email. Email is your best bet for best price - they'll happily send you their price lists. Can get email addy from the web store.
They have some great megaforce deals atm in response to the GW only megaforces, can see them on their facebook page.

Seconding Discount Game Store. I've been really happy with them. Discounted US prices, no tax, no customs duty, usually free shipping, and quick.

Wow thats great, thanks for the quick response. There seems to be a silver lining on the inevitable fate of bankruptcy or losing connection with a great game/setting! Also is there a link to the Discount Gaming store?

A guy earlier said that he ordered from there (oops, sorry about missing the link) so it should be. A good sign that its not legit is if they are quite outdated and that website looks relatively updated. The vehicles were amazing though. Three demolishers for like a hundred and ten bucks?

DGS is legit, I can link you to Aussie forum threads with lots of praise if you like. I've bought from them several times - large orders, all came through without a problem.
Edit: Check their ebay store feedback, which I linked above.

I regularly purchase from thewarstore.com. Neal and company are all great gamers and easy to deal with. Only problem, as with ordering GW online from most places: no online shopping cart. 20% of GW all day, every day. These days, though, they only seem to be able to fully stock the full plastic kits in the various game lines, and no finecast or plastic/metal combined kits.
Either way I have always been happy with them. They also have a brick and mortar store in NYC, so are not a fly by night operation either.

I don't mean to be "flaky" but ebay always, always works for me. I've gotten great deals on there and a few of my armies are almost 90% off of GW's price. I always seem to find good deals on there but I see what you mean about it not being consistant. Also, I'm not picky about condition so that might be why I get good deals, but... So if you don't want to strip old models and would rather get only a 15 or 20% off discount then I would go with the warstore or frontline gaming.

I'd second ebay. If you buy from a reputable eBay store like Cannon Fodder Games (got an order from them recently, came through quickly with no problems!) you can easily get things NIB for 25% off. It's also pretty safe, as you have PayPal and whatnot. And you don't have to worry about the store being outdated.

Personally I would avoid buying online if you play at a game shop. It may be more money but it is very important to support your local gaming community. I go to ebay to buy large lots for a fraction of the price but if I want a single model or pack I would much rather pay an extra $5-10 and support my store.

I bought all my necrons, termagants, hormagaunts and gargoyles from discount games store over the last 12 months which is like 400 miniatures and none were broken and received them in a timely fasion they also did me a great deal on 2 beastmen battleforces they wanted to get rid of. Ended up being $120 with shipping for them both! They're pretty friendly and give you extra discounts if you ask them, when buying in bulk ofcourse.

That would be great, and don't get me wrong I am all for small businesses. But I am a teenager with parents who I don't want to mooch off of. I just can't afford GW prices.
In a bit I will post a list of all the collected online stores so that other people can easily see them. Thanks so much, this has undoubtedly saved me and friends hundred of dollars potentially and hopefully will have saves some other people money too!
