However, his list was much more mobile than yours; hard to catch him I guess

Great Painted Army, I like how you use the spoiler button for each turn, it helps to read with a slow Internet connection.

The army did okay I guess. It is nice looking but doesn't seem like a strong contender.

Hello Hivemind! How are you? Just about to finish a 6 month break from warhammer, had a crazy semester with work and school and I was pissed at GW for how they nerfed Outflank and Reserving.

Im absolutely ecstatic that this battle report is up, as it will probably give me a great deal of information about 6th.

I was very upset about what GW did to reserves, you and I both used reserves heavily. I was wondering what you would do with your DE list, seems like youve changed it a bit but lost the alpha strike?

Your army looks incredible! Your list also looks pretty sweet. As far as allies I heard that you could not bring special characters, was that wrong? From the first game it looks like a farseer might be better than Maugan Rau? Hes kind of a point sink unless he does something in the later games. He has a power weapon correct? The Codex does a horrible job explaining that but from what I understand he does have a power weapon.

First game looked kind of derp. 2 Landraiders and a Stormraven kind of blows with the anti tank you brought, that being said if he fights any kind of melta list he will get tabled. It kind of seemed like your army was really slow without the portals, but nice game none the less.

Off to read the rest of the games!


Game 2: Sexy , nice win. How does Maugan give your beasts fearless? Your opponent didnt really utilize his army at all. If he had put his Drop Pods closer to his lines I could see the game going better for him. Also, not sure why he reserved his stormraven. Not sure why he didnt just deploy the sanguinor either. Good game.

Game 3: Not sure why your opponent reserved his fliers. I assume I need to go and re-read flier rules and see the bonus of reserving them? Cool to see that the game hasnt changed that much, mech dark eldar still exists. I would need to do math but did structure points and the new damage chart make DE vehicles more survivable? Good job on that game, you didnt get shot off the board and your opponent had a perceivable advantage. You deployed correctly in my opinion and had good target priority. Looks like maugan rau teared it up this game, always love to see the Phoenix lords kicking but.

My only question at this point would be if Maugan Rau and the War Walkers compliment the list. For those points you could add another beast squad, or a bunch of hellions or reavers, or Heatlance Scourges or pretty much anything in your dex. Do you think the extra shooting you have without a farseer outweights another 2 assault units?

Maugun is Fearless so he confers it as per the new rules to any unit he joins.

Flyers have to start the game in reserves - no bonuses for doing so, they are just required to.

DE vehicles are less survivable imo - before the chance for a glance to wreck one was 1 in 6, so for two glances to do so is a little less than 1/3. It is 100% now wiht hull points.

The other questions hyv3 will have to answer on his own, since they are opinion and not rules questions!
