I bloody well hopes so.
True for fans but the thing is this would be a hiding to nothing. The critical reaction will almost certainly be "Total War with dwarves/Elves/demonettes - Meh" unless it really moved the game on and I'm not just talking Magic/flying doodads etc.
Don't get me wrong this would be cool but it wouldn't garner general appeal that makes a hit game.

No, no, no. A 5% discount on on-disc DLC.
Far more reasonable.
No.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.
I've gotten 800+ hours of Shogun 2 Total under my belt and until today Rome 2 has been my most eagerly awaited game. Creative Assembly will make the Warhammer universe as epic as anybody could ever imagine it to be.
I hope they get the same amount of funding they have for Rome 2. I'm going to go now before I wet my pants again.
wasn't Mark of Chaos basically warhammer total war?
The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.
Well a Warhammer Action RPG ala Torchlight 2 would be pretty cool methinks, that would allow for some Mordheim goodness as well as just interesting quests and locations.
And by the way to who asked for a bloodbowl remake, there is one already out for the PC, it came out like last year.
Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
Might have to download the latest Call of Warhammer M2:TW Kingdoms mod before it cops a cease and desist : p It was great fun last time I played it. Only played greenskins, but they did it justice. It bodes well for a AAA total war: warhammer release.
I would love this sort of game. A solid RTS would do wonders for the Warhammer brand. Glad (and a little surprised) that they actually got a respected developer to create it.
Also, did anyone notice that GW's legal info took up more space than the company description in the initial article?

Sooooooooooo,
A WHFB: Total War campaign along the lines of Empire's scale would be amazing. The main thing (and I don't know much about the WHFB universe) would probably be alliances (and trading), seeing as everyone (like in WH40k) is beating each other up. I guess they could make the Empire a bunch of states, like in Rome: Total War and the Scipii, Julii and Brutii; and they could have the 'Dark', 'Good' and 'Neutral/Random' basic sides. Another thing would be the ships and transport, because those are essential in Empire and most of the other games and I don't think many races in WHFB have ship knowledge like Lizardmen and Ogres . Also there's the thing in the east with that land in question of what faction would control that, unless they omitted that part of the map.
It would likely be Old World exclusive. I would also love it if they put in Anti-Chaos leage mechanic or something akin to that. Also have the 4 factions of Chaos as different factions and then once you conquer all of them you become the chosen of Chaos ala Archaon. That would be cool.
I hope Creative uses that really really huge pdf map of the warhammer world as a guide when putting together the game map.... thats really all I have to say. (I really like maps)

If they would have chosen EA I would have commented that this project is going to go places, however anything with Sega involved is considered kind of the budget bin category. Not impressed.

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?
You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.
And EA is any better? 0 for 2 on MMOs that didnt go F2P with a solid IP behind them. Most of their income comes from their sport games and all else being IPs pretty much purchased to sell copies of over and over. (same said for all their sport games)
DOW was great, but the first one wasn't very 40k in terms of gameplay, instead more starcrafty. Resource management isnt something you generally think about while on the battlefield (you were supposed to already give your guys the plasmas before they left the base..) But I did think Dark Crusades campaign system was brilliant.
I haven't tried total war series as of yet, but it is on my steam account so I may just check it out. Might become a fantasy convert soon.
