So far this is what I've managed to come up with for a starting army for myself. Any criticism/suggestions are welcome. The initial idea of this army is to quickly engage priority ranged attackers with the Wraiths and Destroyer Lords while I maneuver the Annihilation Barges into position and ferry my Immortals into a good shooting position.

Some of my own critiques and questions
1. It's going to be damned expensive to get all of this.
2. How do I deal with armor? Pray to Gauss?
3. I've got a lot of points held up in heavy units - should I swap the Immortals for a blob of Warriors with attached Lords w/ResOrbs? Is Ghost Ark essential for the Warrior blob/"Silver Tide"?
4. I feel like I'm missing out on the Harbingers and Necron Lord goodies but I'm not sure how to effectively fit them in
5. What good is a Necron Lord/Overlord attached to a blob of Warriors? The ResOrb is obvious but he seemingly is ineffective at range. Is he only there for the inevitable melee showdown?

In general, the list looks pretty good. Destroyer Lords with Wraith escorts is a pretty good CC-unit. I'd drop the particle casters and run more whipcoils. 3 seems to be the right number of whipcoils for groups of 5-6 wraiths.
I would also switch to using minimum sized warrior squads in the night scythes. That'll free up some more points for a 3rd troop squad.
If you are interested in playing around with royal courts (and there are some seriously fun things there... just be careful not to go overboard) Drop one of wraith units, add an overlord to go with a blob of warriors, and a squad of 5 deathmarks and a Harbinger of Despair with a veil.

For what you have so far you actually cant take a royal court due to the Destroyer Overlords not unlocking their potential if my memory is correct. You would need to drop a destroyer lord for a standard one (possibly with barge) in order to take a royal court.

To me you look a little light on the troop choices, if one of your scythes is popped before it can drop off the immortals they're stuck footslogging it in from reserve leaving you potentially only one unit in range of taking any objectives.

I would suggest warriors with an ark to keep them going but to me an ark is only good when supporting two squads of warriors which... involved replacing 90% of the list to be effective. It may be worth dropping a number of immortals in each squad to produce a small squad of warriors to hold backfield objectives for you just as an insurance policy. Your overlords/wraiths will wreck face as is though I would advocate more coils and less casters since the coil only has a base to base effectiveness.

I'll drop the two max squads of Immortals and try and finally few small units of Warriors into the Night Scythes and possibly a small unit of Immortals if they fit.

I'm enjoying the idea of the Royal Court but theory wise I'm having a hard time finding a place in this setup that would be effective for them. I also don't really want to lose a DL as they feel critical to pushing the Wraiths over the top with preferred enemy and drawing enemy fire.
The casters were just there to fill in points. I'll take them out and with a few alterations to my basic troops I can fit three coils per squad.

Thanks for the advice. I'll reup a list when I'm not at work and can do my maths.

Since I've made this post I've updated my roster a bit. I've collected a few units thusfar and am slowly headed torwards my final goal.

1 Overlord
1 DLord
32 Warriors
12 Immortals
5 Scarabs
2 Destroyers
1 A. Barge
5 Deathmarks (Using the guns from Immortal/DMark packs to create my own)

My army build is hopefully going to consist a few different Necron tactics tossed into one army. I think of it as having a platter with a bunch of good dipping sauces giving me the ability to handle a variety of situations and make it harder for the enemy to make decisions on which to eliminate first...

OH GLORIOUS LEADER
Imhotek the Stormlord -

Note that this army has gone from 1500 to a (1970) out of 2000 point army. With the folks I'm playing with this seems to be the desired range and really opens the options up for the Necron. The strategies aren't anything original - you've probably seen them plastered all over the forums. The idea is obviously a slow forward march with constant fire at the enemy. Two extremely tough blobs of Warriors supported by Fire Support from the A. Barges. Everything else will play the field - Wraiths occupying priority targets and the Night Scythe dropping it's payload to fry some Terminators or whatnot. I'm just not sure what to do with Imhotek. I've only used him once and he did fine standing all by himself with a Chronometron Cryptek in 2 man squad. I kept him mostly hidden behind cover and advancing as a big dakka magnet all the while working him into duel-range.
