Im not sure, should i start a tau army or not. im in the fiddle of buying death company or a tau xv8 battle suit.

im in the mood to paint a tau commander but i may need death company. I had the idea of using the tau as ally but im not sure if its the right thing.

is it good to have a 500pts list of tau. or get this death company for my army. now. if was to get the death company i might not be in the mood to paint the tau. seeing i might buy more 40k in like 6 months. if i buy the tau i might paint him good, and model him standing on a SM and his gun (facing and him facing) at the SM. but i might not be in the WUSIWUG style of my army. im still using my assault squad as a death company. but i want 2 assault squads. i have bought an assault squad for the 2ed half of the death company. should i use a 5 man death company instead?

Pesonally, i love 500pts of Tau, using 2 5 man fire squads, you can have a lot of fun creating other things to include, it gives you enough points to have at least 2 broadsides, or a hammerhead, a 3 man crisis team or a bodyguard to go with your commander, there is a lot of possibilities, and personally i love painting Tau

Personally I love Death Company......I mean they have death in their name. What more could you ask for?

Firewarriors are minimum 6 with 8 being optimum

True, but I'd go with either 7 or 9, as 20% losses trigger moral checks (so 8 would be a bad number to field)

k i made a list up for 500pts of tau. it goes about 505pts now with a ally rules it says that i can only have a 1/3 of tau. so for 1750 pts it would be 580 but for 1500 it would be 500, so.

HQ choice: Shas’o

basically the tau are to take the role of my tactical squad and my devistatior. because i may need a little cover fire for my 2 assault squads, plus my army list had either 1 or 2 units in my side of the table and the tac squad (in rhino) would be an anti-Tank distraction or an anti tank out flanker seen that rhinos move at 18in.
