I've been working on my CSM Khorne army and found a model I've decided to include as a Daemon Prince. However I've never used/outfitted one before and could use some advice for the best route. My army is currently ass Bikers/Berzerkers with Huron and a lord. The current way I have the DP outfitted is:
wings
mark of khorne
power armour
combat familiar
aura of dark glory
ends up being 250 pts
I know its a lot but I wanted to add a weapon perhaps, the axe of blind fury, black mace or murder sword
any thoughts to which would be ideal/work well?

It won't need the aura of dark glory. It has a built in 5+ from Deamon.

Combat familiar is pointless.

He becomes a Deamon of khorne, not mark of. Deamon of khorne is kind of silly since it can Smash.

And give it a boon. It's the only chance you'll get for the roll.

If ur making him Khorne, give him Axe of Blind fury. Being able to get up to 13 S9 AP2 attacks at initiative 8 will make even Gks think twice about getting into close combat with you...

Or perhaps, "Do not use the Axe of Blind Fury on your Daemon Prince. Save it for your Chaos Lord, where the on-initiative AP2 will be appreciated."

Four toughness five wounds on your 250+ point model doesn't worry you too much? I'd say if you want to run a demon prince try to maximizes defense within your ability to keep it as inexpensive as possible. Remember even when flying, it only takes a handfull of hits before you fail a grounding test eventually. Then everything becomes an issue. T5 3+ just doesn't stand up to much. Also, as one of the first units to be reaching the midfield, a flying prince is a great place to waste small arms fire and then he's very attractive to both low ap shooting and bolters.

I guess what I'm saying is, you don't want to over estimate or over invest in your DP these days.
If you really want one, khorne is a hard sell. You'd much rather be improving his ability to get into combat and survive 2 rounds of it and then fly to something else than his ability to look statistically more killy.
My last piece of advice cues off that one, in that it may be a bad idea to buy a weapon. The MC already kills most guys on a 2+ and hits most things on 3+ and forces invulnerable saves. If you give him a billion attacks he's going to massacre most units and then he will be out in the open with his dumb T5 3+ body ready to be shot. I guess more attacks make him better for getting through invulnerable saves or huge blobs of guys, but he has the speed to pick his battles anyway so hopefully you will put him somewhere he is suited to. I guess he makes an interesting glass cannon vs deathstars but at 200 points or so I'd probably play more conservatively with him.

Just have to say though, WS8 is still better than 99% of units.

sure, but WS9 will make marines and the likes hit you on 5 in close combat, which can increase survivability.

I kinda agree, black mace on a DP; save the axe for a jugger lord.

Honestly, I'm working on the army more for the modeling and fun games, not so much competative

And again to be a Deamon of Khorne is just wasting points. You get furious charge, but the Prince already has the Smash rule. You're already going to be capping out at S10.

The Demon of Khorne is unfortunately not a choice, the prince must be upgraded to a Khorne/ tzeetch etc. daemon.

I tried a daemon prince just like you posted today, and I must say the Black Mace was a great option, smashed through Grey hunters like nobody's bussiness

I used a Biker squad as a distraction for the DP, since they are good at keeping up with him and are also quite durable they can help to draw some fire away from the DP(although I used bikers with MoS and the Icon for FNP, maybe Khorne bikers would be a bit worse in the same situation)

No, sadly not, Daemon of Khorne gives FC and Hatred against Slaneesh Daemons

You just have to ask yourself when you really want those extra attacks you are paying for. Do you want your prince to go deathstar hunting or something? I guess with an axe strength 8 will be instantly killing a lot of multiple wound 4 toughness models. It just seems excessive to me it's super expensive for something that doesn't have many assurances.
