A series of "How to" miniature painting DVD's demonstrating a variety of techniques that will take your painting to the next level!

No video, curiously (which is kinda odd, given he's pitching DvDs).

Also, an interview I did with him a while back.

Would that be bad?

Golden Daemon Winner makes "how-to-paint-videos", spawning 5 more Golden-Daemon Winners, who in turn make "how-to-paint-videos", spawning 5 more Golden Daemon winners each, etc..

Golden Daemon-winning armies in every hobby-cellar!

Best pyramid scheme ever.

I really, really wish I had the money for this. I always wanted a great painting guide, but $400 for the set is a bit expensive for me.

My friend is the guy who James painted that Blood Slaughterer for. He has an entire WE army painted by him in the display case at a local FLGS. AfethingMAZING stuff!

I may have to throw down some bones for this.

Well, it piggy-backed nicely on the Kingdom Death KS. Lots of talk there after the Wamp contest on painting. How I'll I do pin-up skin tones? How'll I do all those Lanterns w/ source-lighting? Couple of cross-links and bam.

Not that it is the only reason, but I think it did play a role.

It's sad that it's going to be 480p DVD quality. You'd figure he'd film in at least 720p and offer some form of web delivery.

Looks pretty cool, I must say though if you want the full collection then its gonna cost a pretty penny!

Interesting that he started out as a water color artist and then a miniature painter so he grew up on certain techniques like NMM.

Actually it sounds more like a cult!

Wow, that's a lot of videos. That said, I've been to James' blog and I saw his Grey Knights last year at Adepticon, and his work is just fantastic. Good luck to him.

Agreed but sadly the strech goals made me pull my backing as really I think he is going a little overboard with videos and it seems like they will be rather repetative. That said I popped in on his "Beta" a month or two back so I don't really need to be in it but I do wish him luck.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

He looks like a decent painter, but all that "spread your believe in the pyramid" talk sounds like a creepy scientology advert.

James is one of the locals here and paints a lot at the bunker. His style works well for his stuff as he's very skilled but a lot of kids at the bunker try and mimick his style and visually it's like getting stabbed in the eye by a box of crayons. You can definately see effort to follow how he builds his palette but when done roughly by novice painters it's painful to look at as the colors clash rather violently.

Done right his style looks amazing, but it's also tricky to duplicate. He's a cool guy and I hope his KS project does well.

As James has opened his own thread for his kickstarter, I'm going to lock this one, because this way he can easily make updates to his own thread.
