Subject: Mega Dread vs Battlewagon

I was just looking through Imperial Armour 8 and I saw the Mega-Dread. I started to think about it in comparison to other Heavy Support options, particularly the Battle wagon.
To give the same armament as the Mega-Dread (Killkannon, 2 Big Shootas, & Armour Plates), the Wagon will cost just 5 points less, and it'll be Open-topped at that point. It won't even have the AP 1 Dreadnought CCW.
For Heavy Weapons, the wagon can get a total of 4 to the dread's 3, but the Mega-Dread can get either Skorchas or Mega-Blastas.
In terms of vehicle armour, the Mega-Dread's front armour is 1 lower, but it's side and back are 1 higher. However it only has 3 Hull Points to the Wagon's 4.
And of course, even with a Killkannon, a Battle Wagon can carry at least 12 boyz.
Which one would you rather have? The Mega-Dread, or the Battle-wagon?

Absolutely a battlewagon; the ammount of Dakka it can have when you fill it with a squad of (insert anything) here is ungodly. It erases small units, and the defrolla isnt a joke when you need to bump uglies with something heavy. Add a boarding plank, and whatever klaws are inside can make pot shots against high armor too.

I say Mega-Dread!
But then, the one time I played against my buddy's megadread, my Ven Dread walked upto it, smashed it to bitz, only to have the stupid thing stand back up and pound my poor Venerable flat in return.
It was highly amuzing that the mega dread could get back up since I apparently only riped apart some superfilous doo-hicky-thing-a-majig and nothing really important!

I would say Battlewagon, as being able to use it as a transport vehicle is too useful to pass up (I usually stick burnas and a KFF in mine). However, if you want to base your decision on coolness, the Dread certainly does look good (which is why I also usually take a Deff Dread or two even though they aren't necessarily considered the most "competitive" unit).

The issue I have is that while the Battlewagon is certainly appealing with a transport capacity, the price to make it otherwise comparable to the Mega-Dread is just appalling.
The Dread seems like a "cheap" support unit with reasonable firepower, but the Battlewagon (Filled to the brim with boys, featuring a deff-rolla, bristling with guns, etc, etc.) is more of a expensive unit that an army is capable of being based off of. Am I wrong here?

Mega-Dread, not Deff-dread.

Nope, just a Heavy Support. Big Meks can ONLY take Deff-Dreads. (And sadly not Killa-Kans.)
