I kinda think that this is one the best things that could happen to Relic. As long as it is able to continue to produce games for the 40k franchise, Sega is sure to keep up the funding.. I mean Sega has billions of dollars in assets, THQ barely made it over a half a billion dollars in total worth.

I would play the heck out of every single one of those.
Your sim leaves the house to go to a deadend job at the manufactorum, gets abducted on the way to work, gets set free, has a genestealer child.
That sounds great but well probably get Space marine '14 ( Sonic 06 #2 with all that implies)

Sega buying Relic is a good thing. It means that EA and Actiblizzard didn't, although from the looks of things those two companies didn't even bid on anything. TedNugent wrote:Typical mega-corporation bs. They're just going to strip relic down to the bare bones to make Company of Heroes and then wrest the 40k license from their grip and delegate the task to a bunch of sweatshop game developers making cheaply made licensed garbage. Dawn of War was a once in a blue moon thing and we should have known better. You don't spend that much money on a studio - more money than any of the other properties that went up for auction - just to scuttle the company afterwards. And they couldn't do anything with the GW license that GW didn't want to happen. *claps* Well done. I definitely agree here. Warhammer fantasy armies fighting it out with the realistic combat engine of the Total War series would be incredibly cool to see and play.

I can. The chances of Sega producing a SW2 game are infinitely more than Relic had by producing it by itself. Relic was going bankrupt!

Imagine if Zenimax won. It would be cool to see the people behind Skyrim or Dishonoured making a warhammer 40k game, even though Im still not sure the 40k license was included in the buy out.

The Total War series has been amazing. I've played through Rome and its community based mods like Europa Barbarorum and Total Realism several times. Medieval 2 was rock solid.

I'm not sure a Total War: Warhammer Fantasy, would be in GW's best interest. If you had a computer game that played like the mini game, would you still buy GW's overpriced toy soldiers?

Not like there hasnt been something similar before (Warhammer: Mark of Chaos). Albeit, that was nowhere as good as any TW games.

I know they have the fantasy licence and it wouldn't surprise me if they allow relic under sega to make the 40k games that doesnt make it a certainty though. I just think its a bit early to say that Sega 100% have the 40k licence since there has been no mention of it going to Sega yet and we have no idea what the original contract with THQ was or if it carries on to a new publisher. Even if it does go to Sega they may renegotiate and create a new contract.

Eh. Playing TW games is nothing like plaing Warhammer. That's like saying Dawn of War players would never play the tabletop game.

Ummm...I have both Dawn of War editions and still also have 8 40k armies, 4 of which I am currently building relatively new again, so yeah I would still buy GW's overpriced toy soldiers. Of course I don't play WFB anymore these days as I got tired of maneuvering the big blocks of infantry, but would actually enjoy doing so in a Total War game which means that GW would get commission money out of me for a GW mini game license for a game I don't even play now...

Total Warhammer wouldn't steal GW's TT players.
If anything, the computer games would be a good introduction. Tons and tons of people play Total War games, a good portion probably are totally unaware the TT game exists. Many players of DoW are unaware the TT game exists.
It would just be an awsome Fantesy game.
