Anyone here played Call of Warhammer or Rage of the Dark Gods mods for Medieval 2 Total War? Imagine that running on Creative Assembly's latest Total War engine.
As for Relic, as long as we get a DOW3, I will be content.
Also I believe Hyrule Total War was the best mod for Medieval 2 but I cannot wait to literally spam Basalisks as IG and I'm interested in how they will do aerial combat. Also deep strike will be much lolz
Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
If there was going to be a BFG game, I'd want something like Empire at War's space combat system, just at a much larger scale.

Why are they spending this kind of money when they could be making Shenmue 3 damnit!
Sega actually is not a bad home for Relic. In fact of all the buyers this is the best result. Relic mainly produces RTS games and the Creative Assembley is owned by them. Creators of the Total War franchise.
Also on the topic of Warhammer: Total War. I seem to recall Creative Assembley making a statement that they were working on another game besides Rome 2 total war (possibly before Fall of the Samurai so other than that) that is fantasy/sci-fi based.
Edit: should have said the only thing Sega does well is RTS games, not what they mainly do.

Im sure Games Workshop has something somewhere protecting their license in case anything like this happens.
I just skimmed the articles though so please dont burn me alive.
THQ had rights to 40k in a game perspective. This is because THQ had Relic under it's control. THQ sold Relic to Sega. Sega now has the rights.
That basically sums it all up. THQ sold to a lot of different companies, and im kinda happy Sega got 40k. Sega has CA, and CA makes really good games
That is not necessarily how it works. THQ owned the rights to develop the game, not Sega. Just because they sold does not mean the rights go with it. I would imagine there is a clause that in the event of a buyout the rights go back to GW and the buyer has first rights to declare they want to continue to make 40k games. It would be up to GW to decide if Relic, under new ownership, could produce the quality of games they have come to expect.
uho....this means any future warhammer games will be low budget, rushed, and buggy as hell like EVERY other sega game since they went to the 3D world.
Sega usually has good ideas, just lately theyve been rushing the hell outta their products and they come out like crap. When was the last GOOD sonic game anyway? oh wait....that'd be Sonic Battle2 or whatever it was called that Shadow first appeared in lol. EONS ago.

Can you tell the difference between Sega and Sonic Team? The fact that Sega is a Publisher and Sonic Team is the Developer should clue you in.

Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, and Sonic 4 Episode 2, were all great sonic games.

As I said a couple of pages back, people don't understand the difference between developers and publishers.

I can trust the man with a furry as his user icon to have an informed opinion on this subject.
I think that it's fair to suggest that Sega has destroyed the Sonic franchise and can usually be expected to drop a few turds on the market.
But there have been a few good games from Sega lately, notably Valkyria Chronicles on the Playstation 3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles#Reception Virtua Fighter is always good and beloved by fighter fans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtua_Fighter_5#Reception And of course the Total War series has always been top notch, literally some of the best RTS on the market consistently with every release. I mean, let's go down the list. Rome, Medieval, Shogun, Medieval 2, Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2 - every game in that list has been critically acclaimed and beloved by RTS fans. Every single game all the way down the line. If Creative Assembly can thrive and come out with consistently excellent releases, it is possible that Relic can survive with Sega, and I really hope that they do.
That said, yeah, Sega has destroyed a lot of franchises (like the Dreamcast) and like most publishers you can have a pretty reasonable expectation that they are going to screw everything up.

As much as I despise the franchise, it could work for 40kimo. The stupidity of one soldier killing dozens of enemies would be justified by being Space Marine, the constant respawning would be justified by untold bilions and the cheap scripted ingame cutscenes would be great to watch because of 40k setting.
Omg the possibilities, skating GUO puking on the ramp to make it harder for opponents, multiple rockets fired during 720 something trick, Calgar skating on top of a landraider, Space Wolf riding a wolf riding a skateboard, Zoanthropes using a weight of their head mid air, whining about Lictors being cheese etc... I want it.

but in all a total war 40k/fantasy game would be amazing.
