Well I am in the process of trying to come up with a campaign, this takes me a while but I want a system that I could use over and over again with some rules that can be added if needed. I need some help with an idea for a rule based on what army a player plays in a campaign.
In the campaign I am trying to make rules for when units are lost in battle and rules for how they may be reinforced. I wanted to have each player start out with a 10,000 point army list of units they wish to use through out the campaign with out wargear upgrades. In every battle if a unit is wiped out it would be removed from the original list and can't be used in the campaign again. I have a phase in each campaign turn that every player can get points to use for rienforcements to replace lost unit or unit that are new that the player wants to play with.
I think that the reinforcements would work like this; in each turn a player would get a certain amount of points to be used to buy units to add to your original 10,000 point list. These points would be cumlimative and an example might be that each player gets 100 points per turn towards a non vehicle troop choice. If a player wants to buy a 5 man tactical squad for 90 point he can and then he would have 10 points left over to save, or he could wait and save up the points to buy a 10 man unit. There would be a point value for each force chart.
So the QUESTION is what rules could I make for each army to add a little fluff to them that would pretain to the ability to make reinforcements?
Example:
Space Marine
1)
Entomb a revered leader into an anceint: If you have a Techmarine alive on your campaign list; after an
HQ character dies in battle you may add 1 dreadnought to your capaign list at no reinforcement point cost.
Example:
Imperial Guard
1)
Treadhead: You may choose 1 vehicle selection from your capmaign list that will cost 1/2 the points to reinforce it. This last the whole campaign.
2)
Draft: You may not take any troop reinforcement points for 1 campaign turn to add a platoon squad (1PCS & 2infantry)
Example:
Tyranid
1)
Memory of the Hive Mind: You may reinforce unique characters at double thier original cost.
Example:
Chaos Space Marine
1)
Summoning: You may sacrifice (remove from campaign list) 1 cultist unit and 1 marked lord/sorcerer to add a deamon prince with the same mark to you campaign list.
Example:
Ork
1)
Parts for the Meks: If you destroyed another players vehicle in your last campaign turn during a game you won you can add a looted wagon to your campaign list.
Example:
Eldar
1)
Vision of the future: If you have a Farseer alive on your campaign list you could use your troop reinforcement points to reinforce another non troop force.
I would like to have a couple different options for each faction so a player could pick one at the start of the campaign to use. I am really unsure about what things to do for Tau, Eldar and Dark Eldar. For Dark Eldar I was thinking something that used pain tokens or involved capturing units to torture. Tau I was thinking something to help bring Kroot back and then maybe something to do with suits, and for Eldar maybe something that would involve a farseer maybe. I would like them to either help make troops, lose troops to make another non troop model or have some sort of condition to help with reinforcing units that a player like sto use a lot.
Any suggestion would be awesome, Thanks. I have a campaign thread started also here
