The top parts of early 20th century buildings would lend themselves really well to layering, rather than just indenting, just saying...

Yes, Space Germans and Big Robots could be a big hit to work around. Have you seen their concept art for the next box? Buildings like those would be great!

Honestly, I don't think there is much economic potential in doing wooden late 19th century houses or paint racks (unless the latter are really fancy).
Keep on going with SciFi and Fantasy stuff. Waiting eagerly for your take on Dark Elf terrain.

Our new Warp Portal is up! Please let me know what you think.

We chose a design that can be scaled up or down fairly easily for anyonw ho needs a warp portal for their 15mm games or for some kind of giant robot. Depending on feedback, we may try to make other portal variations.

Also, we will probably have to raise the minimum order for free shipping up to $200 and over. (Luckily, this is like 20 pounds...or maybe more like 130.) We realized this after paying 60 bucks (5 shillings) to ship a package overseas, which ate away our profits, our hourly wages, and our floor.

Hopefully we'll finally get the prices and shipping worked out soon. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you, Cyporian!

For those of you asking for generic dungeons, what exactly do you have in mind? Do you want the walls to look like bricks and the floors to have a stone texture? This is what we are working on, but if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Do I see it right that all details on the warp gate are just painted on, so the original is just an almost unstructured flat ring?
Don't think this will work then.

I'm pretty sure the detail is burned in. The teardrops are cut out and the symbols look etched. I have one of the prototype Stargates, and sometimes the etching is very fine, which makes it look painted on.

It could probably use some more details or contours, though.

I was going to reply, from the corridor set, this definitely is the level of detail that angry badger can churn out. Imagine having to paint it that regularly, for the whole wheel. I'd want to hire that painter.

It looks good. We know the influence, you're safe from IP infringement.

As for the generic dungeon, flagstone floors and brick walls would be amazing. Ideal. Dreamy. If I may offer one more item to the wishlist. Some of us might want to have the option of using that kit for sewers. Instead of having you design a "watery" (I'm being polite here) texture, maybe you could make a set of extra strips of flagstones, 30mm in width, so that we can raise the sides a little bit. They would be the walkways on each side of the miasma.

Of if it doesn't look high enough, two small sticks of extra mdf to act as supports to raise it a little further. It would mean minimal work for you, wouldn't add a pound to the order and you can charge 8$ or something for them.

Double duty dungeon. Am I making any sense?

Painted or not, I would prefer a more technical style, the tears don't make sense to me.

Could they be changed to simply triangular indentations? It might balance the whole thing visually.

@ Kroothawk: Which details do you mean?

 Cryptek of Awesome wrote:

They are being reworked and redesigned. Previously, the nano-wall corridors were an upgrade to the current corridors but that was not working out. We will make a new nano-corridor kit that will be available as an independent kit but it might be a bit pricier than the corridor kit. The nanowall takes twice as much material and four times as much burn time to make, so we need to find a pattern and price structure that makes the kit more economically feasible.

We are working on another Warp Portal style that is more industrial/traditional looking. We wanted to have a more organic looking alien Warp Portal, too.

I just talked to Terry about how soon we can release our generic dungeon. We are striving for one release every week and next week's is going to be Fortress Walls (sort of Evil Elfish, but we haven't finished the big gate we had planned for the evil elves). So, the week after should be the generic dungeon, hopefully. We are working on a sewer upgrade kit, too.

And, of course, the drop ship. It's going to take time to get that kit right, though.

Man, sketches, WIP pics, something! You can't drop that bomb and then leave it there!

We've mentioned it before. We have been working on a dropship since December. (Please don't tell out competition!)

We had some sketches up on the blog but decided to take them down for various reasons, like they didn't look good, or we might get legal trouble.

I had a design that looked a bit like some kind of large, stormy bird. Terry's design resembled a tranquil glowworm type of ship. We have since been refining the design and discussing how to pull it off without it looking too blocky. Terry is thinking about casting some resin parts for it so it won't look like balsa wood, but I would prefer to have a basic kit for simplicity with maybe an optional upgrade set of resin parts, to keep the dropship affordable and to keep the engines from clashing in style with the fuselage. The process is long and involved. Progress is slow. People are dying.

Well, maybe not that last part.

Slowly but surely wins the race. Or something like that.

Have you seen the papercraft versions of the Leopard-class dropship from the old battletech lore? That would look sweet in mdf.

I would be very interested to see how a mdf dropship turned out. Terrain is all very good to make but an actual vehicle must be quite technical to construct without looking too basic. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Looks nice, and also looks like you could easily do a 'good' version with just a slight rounding/squaring of the spikey bits.

How wide is the walkway?

That does look like a pretty simple design for mdf. It looks kind of like our drop-shuttle design that may or may not ever get made. You might say legal concerns are of Paramount importance to the decision. Maybe we'll go a bit more generic and incorporate some cues from the Leopard-class.

We definitely want to do some nice good elf terrain, too. We are just trying to decide whether sequins or doll's eyes make better jewels, or if we should leave them out altogether. Also, we have to get other things finished first.

I will try to get some scale shots up this weekend.

I also like the wall. Maybe add another spike to the rectangular wall support or some detail to the surface.

On the Evil Elf fortifications: SQUEEEEEEEE!!! Get me some exterior Dwarf fortifications and I'll be a happy monkey! Maybe something wide enough to fit a 40mm base on the ramparts?

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Man, that stone, brick and flooring texture is just perfect.

If some of those round details could be re-worked to become an occasional manhole... those would be very sweet sewers, alleyways and dungeons

Well, I think we are releasing the fortress walls first and then worrying about finishing the Dark Elf Gate. It turns out our fortress walls were too close together to allow a Hordes figure to stand watch on top, so we need to adjust the size and the fit, which will eat into the time we would have spent. Basically, we wanted to make the gate look like the enormous screaming mouth of a tortured face. We were also planning to add spikes and some symbols that look like cuneiform or bloody eyes. Of course, actually drawing faces that look scary as opposed to goofy is more art than science...

Any suggestions for what would make a Dark Elf texture? Mostly smooth surfaces with blasphemous symbols? Are the fortification walls accurate for evil elves?

Dwarf fortifications are in development. The archways are the same size and should be swappable. We are working on walls that would work, although Ihave no idea when they might come out.

Terry is leaving town for a month for business, so things are going to slow down for a while...

We are working on a generic dungeon now and an upgrade kit to make it a sewer. Due to the way some items are selling, we will probably get this kit out shortly after the fortification walls. Since it is mostly just copying textures we already have, it will probably be done before the Dark Elf gates.

We have now put bases up in the store. So far, we have the dwarf style bases only, but soon we will have generic bases to match our generic dungeon.

On the blog, we have put up some samples of the textures we will use for our generic dungeon sets.

Clever idea using the floor patterns as ready-made bases. Kudos.

Any chances of getting Dungeon tiles designed to fit the Super Dungeon Explore tiles? I'm much too lazy to make my own, but most pre-mades are very elaborate/pricey. I'm betting they would make a mint.

Some nice pirate-y terrain would be fantastic too - there are 2-3 pirate miniature games, at least one of which is terrain-centric, but nobody really caters to the niche. I'm betting they would be ... modestly successful.
