So this is coming out tomorrow. I know Medium of Death and I both are getting it, but was wondering if anyone else was going to be getting it as well?

Here's the launch trailer that they did.

It's not often that Phil Collins works, but man did it ever work well here...

I am getting it as well, but I will stick to the single player mostly. It's the story that motivate me the most, that and gameplay as well as customization.

Judging from the previous two games I expect nothing short of pure awesomeness from this one, especially when we now have open world and choice to play missions outside the main plotline.

I am just hoping that this game will not have an ending like Mass Effect 3 - stupid and disappointing.

The universe has many horrors yet to throw at us. This is not the end of our struggle. This is just the beginning of our crusade to save Humanity. Be faithful! Be strong! Be vigilant!

I'll be getting it definitely, as I loved the last two games and really want to see how it ends*. Hope they haven't strayed too far from the formula of the last two. I've heard it's more action-y this time round.

I pre-ordered GTA 5 instead (damn the delays!).

I will get DS3 at some point in the future though. I enjoyed the previous two.

I could never get into this series because, in my opinion, the protagonist walks too slowly. That's what kept me from enjoying the first one, anyway.

The weapon crafting is really cool so far. I have a few tool mods and I have been tinkering about. Currently I have a sledgehammer assault rifle on my left hand and a spiked magnum on my right. Kind of a same you can only have two weapons.

Its a shoddy console port with microtransations, no thanks.

I didn't even like the first one.

For reference, you don't ever have to use real money to buy anything.

You get the same resource packs/weapon parts made available to you via "Ration Seals" which are obtained via your Scavenger Bot whenever it's sent out.
So please, do some research before spouting off the daily rage line regarding microtransactions.

He's still right. It's a full price single player game that tries to shove microtransactions in your face. There is no excuse for this.

Besides, they completely abandoned any semblence of horror and you can craft one weapon to rule them all in the first couple hours of the game elimating anything close to a challenge.

The EA milkman is pleased.

He's not right though, Sol. Play the game to the point where you have access to a Bench and you'd see that.

Spoiler:
It's because in order to access the microtransactions, you need to be at a workbench and hit "Y" to bring up its own special section clearly labeled "DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT".

Now, if you wanted to make the argument that it's silly that they already have 3 Downloadable Content packages available with unique armor sets/custom skinned weapons or with DLC packages that you can buy to "upgrade" your Scavenger Bots(really? People are going to pay for that?)?

I'd agree with you there that it's silly. But in no way has the Downloadable Content or Microtransactions been "shoved in my face".

Dead space has always been full to the brim with extra paid cheat codes. Like in DS1 where you could buy max level armor under the ruse that you where buying a skin. DS3 is just kind of dropped the ruse and ya they do kind of shove it in your face. It's right at the menu, and a message saying you can buy more resources pops up every once awhile. That The message is most annoying because it pops up in game as part of your rig. Really out of place.

Now in spite of EA's *Insert really bad word here* money grab. It's actually a good game and I wasn't expecting that. Sure it's not survival horror any more then you ability to run out of ammo and health, but was dead space ever really survival horror? It's fun, the combat is fun, the weapon crafting is fun and I found myself playing for almost 6 hours without even noticing it.

Also the scavenger bots are cute. :p

Are you kidding?

Dead Space one to me was the scariest horror game ever played when I played it for the first time. It has everything - twisted mutants jumping out of the walls and scary music.
But I agree that part two was not so scary at all and I expect the same from part 3 ( just like Mass Effect had so much RPG elements and part 2 and 3 had very few ). But what makes Dead Space Dead Space is it's story, the story that question the very core of human mind. There are also things in it like interest to make weapons and religious fanatics who want to own it all not knowing the dangers behind it. That is what makes Dead Space awesome.

Dead Space wasn't all that scary but I'll admit it gets the survival ribbon.

Yes, I am; microtransactions are definately in the game and it will even have 11 day 1 DLCs. Microtransaction are rarely, if ever, requried to complete any game however the presence of non cosmetic upgrades nesseciates the addition of some kind of grinding mechanic, artificially tough section or something that will tempt people to actually buy them. In this case the collection of crafting materiels and grinding mechanics are rarely fun, certainly not in a single player game.

I don't have anything against microtransaction (as long as they aren't pay to win) if the base game is free. Having the gall to charge £39.99 for the base game and then £15 for day 1 DLC is simply taking the piss. Thats just money grabbing, its bad even for EA.

Old MacDonald had a farm , EA, EA, EA etc.

Some one else told me that it was scary, but I was never really scared. Except maybe when you had to fight the regenerating necromorph. (They return in DS3.)

Ive been playing through with a buddy and so far its alot of fun. In co op the ''scary'' factor went out the window the second he joined my game, though I admit once or twice we were both suprised by an enemy the first time you see them or what not, but really after an hour of playing solo its the same way.

Not once has the game tried to shove any of the micro transactions in my face, and even if someone wants to buy them I could care less, it takes nothing away from my playing experience if someone some scraps or a gun that Ive unlocked the hard way.

Some things have changed but not enough for me to try to burn down EA hq. While sometimes I question why and how certain things happen Im still enjoying it alot.

I'll be getting it at some point, haven't looked at any trailers on purpose, i want the story to be a complete surprise.

I hope though that they fixed the weapon system. I shouldnt be able to run through the game with the first weapon and never bother touching the others.

I loved the first two games, but with all that paid DLC hard-coded into the game at launch, requiring Origin, and being a shoddy port in general, I'm going to pass.

I never really found the Dead Space games to be scary, but they had some fantastic atmosphere. I don't know how having a constant teammate or crafting weapons will work with that, but I have some serious doubts that it would be in a positive way. That said, I already made my choice.

Funnily enough, it's actually a really good port. Totalbiscuit just did his WTF is video on it showing all the pc features and they really went out of their way to make it work.

Interesting. From what I heard, it was absolutely barebones. Regardless, it won't change my decision to not buy it. The issue with Origin and the DLC are enough to push me away. Especially since it seems like a lot of the new gameplay elements were built to be a platform to sell that content.

I was watching my buddy try it, then his mother was yelling at him to do housework so i got to go at DS3 for a few hours..... I want those few hours of my life back, I am not impressed with this game at all, even on the hardest difficulty it holds your damn hand with health packs flying out of everything faster then you can pump bullets out weaponry, the weapon customization though was pretty cool. And speaking of the weapons....... they are so lack luster compared to the first DS where you could lop of limbs with a single shot of that plasma cutter thing (name eludes me) where as now it can take the entire charge pack to lop off a single limb. Even with all the negative outlook i have for this game i do like Issac Clark as a character.

WAAAHG!!! until further notice

The ability to have two firing options on a gun is a little cheap. Put the shotgun on the bottom and you just keep pushing enemies back and fire with the main weapon.
