Finished Dead Space 3.

Pretty happy with the ending. Not gonna spoil the end fight, but it was definitely an interesting one.

Well, that was quick...

I played it on Normal and solo, so I missed out on the Coop Missions (there's three at the moment which actually require you to have a Coop partner to play).

I finished too and ya that final boss was quite neat. Also the thought didn't come to me till after I fished, but what happens to all the creepy visions from 1&2? There was only one and that was a cutsene.

He conquered that at the end of part 2 when he killed his imaginary girlfriend.
That is when he conquered his fear and the signals that marker is sending.

started playing, i think i'm 2/3rds or so through (just re-killed the last boss from the last game)

The game oozes good ideas and unique development, and fails to execute on almost every level. I have a feeling this is another game where EA cut funding midway through dev because its a sequel, you don't need all that time if you're going to recycle all those resources.

the bad:
Virtually every enemy recycled, virtually every cinema sequence recycled, STAPLE BOSSFIGHTS RECYCLED , all from previous games
Asinine weapon customization system, I spent if you don't check your inventory for what a module attaches to before you visit a bench, good luck ever finding it
-as soon as you figure out that each "clip" is about 1/3rd of a magazine so you socket entirely for clip size, you have infinite ammo
-really cool concept guns, are just terrible. Ex the bola: upon seeing the option "oh thats going to be cool, interesting way of using this animation system and physics!" Reality: works like every other gun, doesn't "wrap up" anything, nearly useless because it arcs
-hilarious explosives, really, just use an underslung grenade or rocket launcher, AOE protection, and endzone spike a bomb whenever you are swarmed
-not scary, way too actiony, they cranked up movement speed of enemies to hilarious levels, i'm like 8 hours in and haven't jumped once that I can remember
-recycled enviroments, there's like one canyon ending, many compartments and such they just move tables around in and pretend its a new room, ect. ect.

I mean, its not aweful, it just isn't dead spacey, the story is fairly decent, and there's an awesome, awesome ship landing sequence so far, but its hardly worth the price of admission.

I think it's pretty obvious how deep EA's fingers were into the design of the game, but this only solidifies it. It would probably be best for the series to die a quick and silent death at this point, really.

5 million fans X 50 bucks lets say, = a quarter billion dollars

I know there's a bunch of people taking a slice of that, but that seems like an awful lot to justify a sequel, but at this point, i'm kind of hoping they leave it be.

beat it about 30 minutes ago, ending is good too, but I just can't get over the whole codex thing and the flagrent disregard for physics, lol.

Snake Mountain

I finished it last night, and I must say I really enjoyed it. There were a few negatives as mentioned the Weapon/Upgrade system was interesting but handled quite badly. Also the micromarket EA has created in the DLC/Packs is laughable.

Also there were quite a few re-uses of previous enemies/scenarios, overall I'd say it was good and the story progressed quite well but this game isn't as good as the first two.

I've heard a few people mention their dislike for the action side of things and I've got to say I actually liked it, it sort of showed Issac's ability as a fighter now, he's become combat hardened and more capable as the games have progressed (so should the player also.). So I think it makes sense to give it a bit more of an action feel than a survivor. Don't get me wrong the survival horror is why I love these games but I don't think the action elements took too much away from it.

Overall I'd give it an A-. Solid game, few minor issues and some reptitive gameplay. Need to try the co-op yet though so my opinion may change soon as apparently from what I've heard the Co-op doesn't add much and in some cases makes the game worse apparently?

Holy Terra

I downloaded and install it this morning and finish it after 13 solid hours after playing at normal.

My experience is quite positive despite what many others have written here. The game was fun, interesting and utterly enjoyable ( the point that I played it this whole day except when I needed to eat and to go to bathroom proves it ).

Graphic is little improvement over Dead Space 2, and I am ok with it. Proves that you don't need top of the line graphic to make a good game even today...
Music is standard Dead Space one, it truly brings you into element of horror game.

but....

Gamepaly changed drastically, when others written down that it was not scary at all I didn't want to believe it ( because Dead Space is after all Dead Space... ) - I only believe it when I saw it myself. The game changed drastically just like Mass Effect series - the difference being that Dead Space have gone from horror into pure action. Not even once was I scared in it, and I can still remember how scare I was to go into next room in the first game...

I when played I see that they swapped position with ammo and loot. In first two games you collected various ammunition and credits - now it's completely reverse as you have one type of ammo and various materials to collect. But they had a point by doing that , in first two games I would buy assault riffle, 1500 bullets, 30 health packs and with fully upgraded suit ( thanks to all those power nodes that I find + that I bought ) and rip apart everything in front of me until I reach next store. This way makes it very interesting because you can combine two weapons in one.

Story was not so bad, but it was also not great at all. But I overall loved it, and I hope that they will one day made a movie that will serve as prequel
Spoiler:
showing us the story of SCAF force and what happened to them in the end, just like the first movie about Ishimura before Isaac got there.

I give the game 9/10, it's not perfect but it is nevertheless great game.

What I like about this game was:
Spoiler:
The story behind Markers, they are even older than we thought and their purpose is to turn us into food for some creatures who are as big as Luna. The entire thing about Necromorphs sounds too familiar to be true... I think that EA may want to prepare their lawyers just in case

and the ending:

Spoiler:
If you let the credits roll until the end you can heard Isaac calling up Ellie after she left, indicating that he is still alive.

Will there be Dead Space 4...? I don't think so, with this game they can complete the sage nicely, not to mention
Spoiler:
that Isaac destroyed the Marker signal and thus stopping the Necromorphs all over the galaxy
. With this game they can truly leave this epic saga at peace.

I dont know how to do spoiler tags, so SPOILERS!!!!

Spoiler:

-I really disliked how the main villain was so incompetent, you escape a gun to your head 2 times, then the third time it isn't a big joke?
Also why would the moon open the absolute second the machine is turned off, if the moon is frozen like the planet?
The ending sequence is really really cool, but as an engineer, I cant help but think of how the designers have no idea how far away a moon would be, and how the moon would have struck and annihilated the planet long before those tenticles were hitting anyting, lol
