That is one very nice looking Nurgle army you have there!

I have always been a fan of the death guard, yet I have since decided to collect an Iron Warriors themed chaos army.

I am considering doing a unit of bionic plague marines though, using the basic chaos marines and a set of iron hands upgrade parts.

Thanks very much! Bionic Plague marines sound pretty cool. I would love to see some photos if you do make them.

UPDATE: I have uploaded a video onto Youtube which is just a compilation of all of the best photos of my army.

Sorry that there hasn't been an update in a while, I have been really busy with my first couple of days on an art foundation course at my local college. I haven't got any photos to show what I have been working on, but I will leave these videos filmed at Iron forest Gaming club just to show what me and my friends have been up to.

Not long ago I bought this World Eaters army from a friend for £40...

This is going to be the start of a small World Eaters army that I'm adding to my main Nurgle force. Here is a photo of one of the CSM squads that I have finished...

If you are wondering what happened to the Obliterators that I was scratch-building, I threw them away, as soon as I started painting them they looked like absolute garbage. What I have to do is finish two five-man squads of Terminators, one squad magnetised Chaos Terminators, one squad Tartaros pattern armour, three with twin-linked bolters and chain-fists, one with a heavy-flamer and a chain-fist and the champion with a twin-inked bolter and a chain-fist.
There will be pics soon!

I have a few pictures showing off what I have on my painting table...

These were the Chaos Space Marines that I tried to paint up as World Eaters. I wasn't too happy with the end result and it didn't really fit in with the rest of my army, so I added greenstuff work to them and turned them into another squad of Plague Marines. I decided that I want to keep a cohesive theme running throughout my entire Chaos army (even the Daemon allies) so I am sticking to my Sons of Davin colour scheme.

Been working on my Nurgle Land Raider. It was originally painted up as pre-heresy World Eaters but I sculpted on loads of pustules, added on filler and also glued on bird seeds (converting Nurgle stuff can get very experimental!) Now I'm in the process of painting it and have gone for my classic Sons of Davin colour-scheme.

Thank you very much!

I have been working on some new minis...
Here is one of my Plague Drones all painted up. I wanted it to looks as thought it was flying over the Chaos trenches, head-on into battle, knocking down friend and foe. The guy falling over is a Chaos Cultist, pushed over by the bloodthirsty Plague Drone, I made him out of some Empire Free Company and Chaos bits. I went with more of a natural fleshy colour for all of the organic parts rather than the bright unnatural pink I use on my Chaos Marines, it is to add a bit of a difference between the Chaos Marines and the Daemons and also because I think that bright pink Plague Bearers and giant flies would look a little odd.

Here is a photograph of another squad of Plague Marines that I am working on. I am painting them up in the classic green and pink colour scheme of the Sons of a Davin.

Here are some photographs of my Nurgle Terminators. I bought some of the Tartaros pattern Terminator armour and Nurgled them up using greenstuff, Chaos bits and modelling sand. The bases are circular disks of cardboard cut out to match the size of regular Terminator. Then the cardboard disk is covered in some 'ready mixed filler' and modelling sand is added. Afterwards I glued the model to the base and sprayed them up with the Army-Painter 'army-green' primer ready for painting.

So I have finished painting some Plague Bearers to a table top standard. I am planning on working on them a little bit more, adding more gore and highlights. Also I'll take some better photos. The Daemon allies are slowly growing, I now have a squad of Plague Drones, a Herald of Nurgle and a squad of Plague Bearers. I think that my next purchase will be the Daemons book and another squad of Plague Bearers.

I am thinking that my next purchase for my Chaos army will definitely be the Dark Vengeance box set. I love the aesthetics of the new Chaos minis which they look so mutated which fits into my army also I want to build up a cultist collection because nothing sounds as fun as having 200 cultists running across the table in an apocalypse game.

Another reason for getting the Dark Vengeance set is for the loyalist Space Marines; I am planning on starting a Black Templars army, so I'm planning on converting the Dark Angels from the set into Black Templars.

Also I am slowly catching up on my painting backlog, what I have left to finish is:
- A scratch-built Brass Scorpion
- 7 Plague Marines
- 2 Plague Drones
- A Nurgle Land Raider
- Some Infinity minis
- Some stuff for the Inquisitor skirmish game
- Part of the Axis force from the Dust core set
- 5 Terminators
- Some Night Goblins
- A metal Dark Elf Hydra

I don't know why I keep on eagerly checking this blog when I know that I'm not going to get any replies...

Anyway, I would of uploaded some more photographs today, but I was busy all day at a university interview. I'll probably be uploading some better quality pics of my Plague Bearers. Also I'll be finishing off the Plague Drones as well.

For now I'll leave you with this photograph. It is the start of my TF2 themed Ork kill team...

Here is photograph of a Brass Scorpion that I am working on. As you can see, it is made from two Defiler kits. The construction of this model was not done by me, I bought it off eBay, did some green-stuff work to tie it in with my Nurgle army and then proceeded to paint it.

Another squad of Plague Marines, recently just finished.

Here is a photograph of my Nurgle Knight Titan so far. I had finished building the 'skeleton' out of Lego Bionicle and an assortment of 40k bits. I proceeded to spray the whole thing copper and spray the armour plates green. Next, what I am going to do is get some expanding filler, clay and greenstuff and start working in the fleshy parts such as a bloated stomach and the pus cannon that will go on the arm. Then I will spray all of the fleshy parts white.

The Knight Titan fell apart, I thought I was good at making models, but obviously not that good. -.-

Wow! I haven't posted much up here since my Knight Titan that I was scratch building fell apart. Well, good news, I have been painting up some more Nurgle stuff...

I have made some more progress on my Brass Scorpion, I have finished painting up all of the golden trim, and have attached it to the custom base. Now all I have to do it give it some brown and blak washes and paint on Nurgle iconography on some of the armour plates.

Not too long ago I was showing off my Brass Scorpion. Somebody had said that it was a bit too 'clean' and could do with some more Nurgling-up and I agreed. This gave me the excuse to go to my local gee-dub (GW/Games-Workshop) and picked up some of the shiny looking technical paints and some washes. Then I went to town on the Brass Scorpion, sculpting on more disease and decay and then using the technical paints to make it look super gross. I still have a bit more work to do on it but I wanted to show you my progress so far.

What do you think?

Had a great day at Iron Forest Gaming club today. I feel like I need to work on my 40k tactics though, as an 8-1 loss is pretty horrendous.

So, for Christmas I received two boxes of Mantic's Sci-Fi Zombies. The sculpts look really nice and crisp; not too much flash to clear up. I have been finding them a little difficult to put together, but that is probably due to me being a little rusty on the hobbying rather than the fault of the sculpts. I do like the fact that they are reasonably pose-able, detailed and dynamic.

The plan is to get them all assembled, do some conversion work and customisation on them. Get them based. Then prime and paint them. At some point I'll try and pick up the ForgeWorld Typhus to accompany the Plague Zombies. I'm thinking that the transport will be a Plague Tower. I have the materials and designs ready, I just have to start making it which will probably happen some time in early January, when I go back to University.

Finally finished converting and painting up the Lesser Brass Scorpion; the little Brother of the Great Brass Scorpion or Scorpios Colossi. It is a multi-legged Daemon Engine designed to rip apart anything that stands in its way. Most Brass Scorpions are dedicated to Khorne, however it is possible to find them working for other gods; donated for use as mercenaries, allied to fight a common enemy, or salvaged from war-torn battlefields.

Livercrab was originally a Brass Scorpion serving under Khorne in the World Eaters Legion and was presumed destroyed in a particularly bloody clash against the savage greenskins. The Sons of Davin were hired as mercenaries to help stem the Ork tide. Necromancy and salvage was used to help swell the ranks of The Sons of Davin resulting in seemingly indestructible, undead Khorne Berserkers and the resurrection of the great Livercrab. The mighty Daemon Engine is now a rust bucket ravaged by decay. The Daemon that was bound inside now spilling out in to the material world, it's bloated body squeezing out from the confines of its metal shell.
