Ironman 3 UK trailer. Look carefully at the last suit of armor shown in this clip:

on the forum. Obviously

It's power armor.

It can only have so many forms. That's to say, not many.

That said, it does look a tad termy-ish.

Almost makes me wonder if someone on the team for IM3's visual effects isn't following the CHS suit..... or really just likes WH40K.

The trailer is work blocked for me atm... is it the 2:44 trailer? Also its probably the Hulkbuster suit... there was one during the recent comics where he was destroying Extremis tech and he wore a black and gold suit that looked a little like Terminator armor.

The Trailer is 2:44 long, yes.

Okay, I checked it out on my phone... Very very close to Terminator armor lol, but like it's been said... power armor only comes in so many forms.

I would love to see GW try and sue Marvel/Disney for this lol

Spoiler:

In case anyone can't watch the trailer.

My bet is that Marvel Studio's Visual Effects team is VERY up to date on what is and isn't copywritable about toys, figures illustrations etc. I'm personally hoping that this is the beginning of the wider artistic community telling GW "Lay off the little guy, imitation is the best form of flattery." "Oh, by the way, you can't copywrite or trademark everything you've ever seen."

Yeah...I'd love to see GW try to sue Disney. That would go over...really well for them.

At first I thought we were talking about the last suit on the right in the screenshot...and that looked nothing like a GW suit-figured I'd watch the video though, and I saw what everyone was talking about. That IS a very close appearance in the face...but I think the rest of it is okay. Besides, if GW tried to sue for that, Marvel could turn around and sue for the armor appearance of the Eldar Guardians: those things are a complete rip on the Iron Man suit with two modifications: a sash around the waist, and a helmet that ends in a point. Whoop-dee-do.

That said, I'd pop a bucket of popcorn and enjoy myself if it ever went to court.

On second thought, I paused it at 2:21. It looks like a termie to those of us trained to see it. Put it in front of a normal person, GW will never spring to mind, nor will they see the resemblance, even if a termie was put next to it. Roll on Marvel, you won't be attacked by a lesser.

I agree. I called my roommate in to look at the screenshot. He has a more than passing, although not extensive, familiarity with WH40K and his first impression was "It looks like a robot dog." But I would posit that GW's legal team are 'trained to see it", as you put it.

It actually has the oldschool hazard stripes on its fists too. Pretty hard to argue that it at least wasn't at least "inspired" by the GW IP. That said, GW can go get stuffed if they have a problem with it.

It does resemble a terminator but to be fair I don't think Marvel really need to sell cinema tickets off the back of someone elses intellectual property. They're a huge corporation with a well established and hugely popular character, not a crap author looking to exploit a common search term on Amazon.
