Agreed. The paint jobs are simple, one layer airbrush jobs, probably done by machine. They don't seem to get that.

And quite frankly, the other folks in the KS forum aren't people I'd ever want to play with if that's going to be the core community

With Arena Rex and Myth continuing to look better and better with every (reasonably spaced) stretch goal, this one just keeps falling off my radar.

Oh yeah, they were also convinced this game would never be discounted from online retailers...so there's that. I'm really not sure what closet these folks are living in.

Dropped out of this one today.

It really is seeming more and more like a pre-order that you could realistically wait to hit retail and not miss out on much at all.

There is little incentive to stay in now, and less to jump all the way up to $300, never mind $500.

I dropped earlier today as well. Just not a fan of the way things are being handled. Little/no discounts and actual exclusives being insanely high priced... I'd rather just buy this one from a discount retailer in the future if I want.

Same here.

I'm quote surprised that this one hasn't experienced more of the same.

The people at $300 and $500 are, quite literally, rather 'invested' in the thing, I guess.

Just wanted to point this out:
http://www.miniaturemarket.com/catalog/product/view/id/35678/s/jpg201/

Yes, that's correct. It's already being handed out to retailers, and at a price where it's better to order from miniaturemarket and retailers like them than to be a part of the kickstarter. Very interesting.

It's funny that I see people screaming about pre-orders on kickstarter, yet not as much when this is the worst case so far.

Well if you visit the link you can see it's NOT being handed out to retailers as it is a pre-order with no release date given....

For US backers
$52 + shipping for MM compared to $75 for KS (where you get a promo figure & poster too)

so it may well be cheaper, depending on what the shipping is

but for somebody in, for example Europe KS is cheaper

$52 + $58 shipping = $110 at MM
$75 + $25 shipping = $100 at KS (and you get the promo mini & poster)

EDIT: not that I'm backing this, not my thing man

MM offers free US shipping at $99 or above. So, if 2 people order a set together, it's massively cheaper for US folks to wait till after the KS.

Yeah, this Kickstarter is a real odd duck.

They WAY overpriced the promos, in my opinion.

Still, best of luck to everyone who's staying in until the end!

Yeah. The promos just aren't worth the asking price.

I also think the price thy tacked on the terrain and tokens is absurd.

Absolutely!

Isn't it something like $50 for the tokens and $75 for the terrain, all of which seem like dinky little pieces of plastic and/or resin?

I wouldn't be surprised if a fair number of backers are French,

and see this as a cheaper way to pick up the whole set of minis than random packs they come in over there (the game being considered a 'free' extra)

Good point Orlando.

I would have stayed in on this one if there was a reasonable way and price to get Nox and Goultard.

But... there isn't!

Huh.

Ordering from MM or someone comparable is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than backing the kickstarter then.

Not like I'm missing out on much either since I don't want to burn a few hundred on just this game.

Guess I'll be preordering it through more traditional channels!

Thanks for the heads up!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I tried to tell the person running the project this multiple times through our email conversations. They simply overvalue what the items are "worth". It's so strange that they do away with the blind blister model and then keep these other exclusives. Baffling.

And now that I know ill be able to get a copy for $50... Sorta seals it.

I thought there was something about how they; japanime games, believed it wouldn't be discounted too much on internet stores? How do they explain this then?

I found a picture of the game with the replacement trees.

Spoiler:

I was especially curious how much these would really improve the look of the game. Given that it's about $150 extra for all the replacement components. The resin tokens are a no brainer if you're willing to pay for them, they are obviously going to look better. I'm not too fussed about the coins. But I was most curious about the trees, considering you will probably be looking at them the most, since they are on the board the whole time.

At the moment (unless I was repaint the resin ones) I think I actually prefer the card trees just for variety. Also they make it look a bit more like a board game and less like playmobil. I might still low-ball in at $100, and mop up the promos and stretch goals. The game looks cute, and 14 characters is probably enough diversity to last me a while.

Im there with you 100%. I want Nox...I cant afford several hundred dollars to get him. I dropped from the $150 pledge to $15 a while week or so ago. Been debating dropping it all the way to $1. Its only $15, so I mihgt leave it to get the promo mini, use that to decide if I want to buy more in the future.

Whats my game?

It's interesting reading their comment page because it's full of people trying to justify to themselves why the 300-500usd pledge is worth it, even after MM has posted it for sale at 50+

Yeah, that is interesting (just went and checked it). Lots of "But that doesn't include shipping!1!" comments, but all you need to do is find a friend nearby who wants one, and order it together from Miniature Market, and you get free shipping.

Or just order some other board game / miniatures-related thing from MM, as we all tend to do

This one is a definite "Do not back!" with that revelation. I wonder why they worked out a pre-order arrangement with Miniature Market with their campaign still going (although there will probably be less nerd rage than if they'd done so right after the KS ended, revealing that low price).

They place a ridiculously high value on the Promo figures and the resin tokens/terrain.

Many said that they were overestimating their value - clearly they were, but some people are now so emotionally invested, there's no helping them!
