Nonsense. Flyers are like late-arriving heavy support choices
with efficient firepower and the mobility to put it where you need it. You might get away with ignoring flyers because you play blob
IG and most flyers aren't properly armed for killing infantry hordes, but that is far from a general rule. If you depend on vehicles (especially transports) ignoring Vendettas will cost you the game. If you're playing a
MEQ army ignoring Helldrakes means each turn one of your scoring units is removed from the table. If you ever bring your foot
IG to a
FW-legal event ignoring Vultures means each turn one of your scoring units is removed from the table. Etc.
Now, your argument certainly applies to bad flyers like the Nephilim, but that's because they're worthless easily-ignorable units in general, not because they're flyers.

USR, which makes them
BS 4 against most targets.
