$120 level is starting to look pretty inviting which likely means I should just pledge in now since its only going to get better

I must say this is one of the fastest growing, if not the fastest, terrain KS I have seen

Guess right product at the right time

everyone likes DF terrain...but not everyone can afford it. This kickstarter is likely getting people who have always wanted some but didnt want to bite a bullet

There was a lot of support for them already and most of the people were held back by the high prices, especially for the basic sets so this was a perfect fit.
Whether you use hirst arts or dwarven forge, no one wants to cast/buy all those basic tiles and walls. For myself, I want to build, but I want to concentrate on the cool stuff.

Yeah, even without stretch goals, 10 room sets for $500 is a super deal. Get your gaming group/club to throw in some or split it with another GM. Some drybryushing and a dip in quickshade/floor wax and you're good to go.

I'm curious how well this can be dremmeled.... I never converted any of the sets I own, but this will leave me pieces to spare.

When I walk by their booth at GenCon each year, I stop and drool over the terrain sets. Two of our D&D players went in on a few sets and we break them out now and then!

A great alternative for those who have the money, but not the time, to invest in Hirst Arts. Best of luck to Dwarven Forge.

Almost at 300k and they have lowered the next stretch goal (more floors) to 325k and at 400k they will add a new piece, diagonal walls.

I hope they add stairs like in that photo to the KS as a terrain piece. This looks sweet!

Watching this Kickstarter get funded and then overshoot the original goal by thousands of dollars/hour is insanity at it's best. Holy cow.

That it is. I'm not sure what normal ship rates are, but from what some have said, each set is around 12 pounds.

Edit: so far.

The shipping is high (sob), but it looks to be fair based on what the stuff is meant to weigh

(remember the shipping will also have to cover all add on stuff from stretches too as they can't ask 'extra' for that)

all we do is hope enough European backers pledge at which point it may become cost effective to send a container across and ship from within the EU (meaning they'd pay the VAT)

Just hit 325k. Next is 400k with diagonal walls, 2 per set. 475k is 2 diagonal half floors, so you can put diagonal walls in a middle of a room.

ON DECK > $475,000 = 2 FREE Diagonal Half-Floors with every set you back. This piece allows for Diagonal Wall piece to be placed in the middle of a room. So, if you back us for 5 sets -- at $475,000 in funding you will get 10 Diagonal Half-Floors for FREE (plus 10x Diagonal Walls, 30x Floors, 5x Swinging Doors, 40x Straight Walls and 10x Corner Walls).*

Pic of the new piece -

If anyone hasn't noticed, most of the pledge levels are limited to a certain number, the $120 and up included- so if you want in you might not want to wait until the last minute...

They are, but they have said that when the pledges are full they will start another pledge of the same "level" that will just ship at a later date. So you're still right about getting them now if you want to get them in 2013.

Ah, thanks. Didn't know that- that's a really neat idea actually. Helps to make sure they stick to their schedule I guess?

Bah, I'm not sure I'll ever actually get all that much use out of this but I want to go in for $120 just because you seem to get SO MUCH with even more stretch goal stuff to come.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Yeah, the amount of sets they have planned are what I'm assuming what they had gotten a production quote for. We might have a small delay due to the massive support the project has gotten.

Just hit 400k and new stretch goal revealed.

ON DECK! > $550,000 = Diagonal Wall Set Unlocked as Add-On! When we hit $550,000 in funding, this set consisting of Diagonal Walls and Diagonal Half Floors will be unlocked as a purchasable Add-On set. Exact price and composition will be revealed in a few days.

And enough data now to show an expected trend.

I wonder if the rest of the stretch goals will become add ons

I imagine he'll alternate between 'freebies' and paid add-ons, as it might make the most sense for him and his business model while at the same time driving up the pledges.

I'm surprised we waited this long for the first paid add-on to arrive. Definitely not complaining though. I'm hoping they add in some of their pillars and small add ons.

i hope its a happy mix of both...mainly because i want MOAR free stuff! but also dont want to hear people complaining about not getting freebies, the $120 level is already a really good deal but it seems like people view kickstarter as a way to get lots of stuff for little investment, which is a shame. Spoiled by reaper I guess
